Lamentations 3

I am the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.

Jam jest ten mąż, którym widział utrapienie od rózgi rozgniewania Bożego.

He hath led me, and brought me into darkness, but not into light.

Zaprowadził mię, i zawiódł do ciemności, a nie do światłości;

Surely against me is he turned; he turneth his hand against me all the day.

Tylko się na mię obórzył, a obrócił rękę swoję przez cały dzień.

My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.

Do starości przywiódł ciało moje i skórę moję, a połamał kości moje.

He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.

Obudował mię a ogarnął żółcią i pracą;

He hath set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old.

W ciemnych miejscach posadził mię, jako tych, którzy dawno pomarli.

He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.

Ogrodził mię, abym nie wyszedł, obciążył okowy moje;

Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.

A choć wołam i krzyczę, zatula uszy na modlitwę moję.

He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked.

Ogrodził drogę moję ciosanym kamieniem, ścieszki moje wywrócił.

He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places.

Jest jako niedźwiedziem czyhającym na mię, jako lwem w skrytościach.

He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he hath made me desolate.

Drogi moje odwrócił, owszem, rozszarpał mię, i uczynił mię spustoszoną.

He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.

Naciągnął łuk swój, a postawił mię jako cel strzałom swym.

He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.

Przestrzelił nerki moje strzałami z sajdaka swego.

I was a derision to all my people; and their song all the day.

Jestem pośmiewiskiem ze wszystkim ludem moim, pieśnią ich przez cały dzień.

He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken with wormwood.

Nasyca mię gorzkościami; upija mię piołunem.

He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes.

Nadto pokruszył o kamyczki zęby moje, i pogrążył mię w popiele.

And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat prosperity.

Takeś oddalił, o Boże! od pokoju duszę moję, aż na wczasy zapominam.

And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD:

I mówię: Zginęła siła moja, i nadzieja moja, którąm miał w Panu.

Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.

Wszakże wspominając na utrapienie moje, i na płacz mój, na piołun, i na żółć.

My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.

Wspominając ustawicznie, uniża się we mnie dusza moja.

This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.

Przywodząc to sobie do serca swego, mam nadzieję.

It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

Wielkie jest miłosierdzie Pańskie, żeśmy do szczętu nie zginęli; nie ustawają zaiste litości jego.

They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Ale się na każdy poranek odnawiają; wielka jest prawda twoja.

The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

Pan jest działem moim, mówi dusza moja, dlatego mam w nim nadzieję.

The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

Dobry jest Pan tym, którzy nań oczekują, duszy takowej, która go szuka.

It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

Dobrze jest, cierpliwie oczekiwać na zbawienie Pańskie.

It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.

Dobrze jest mężowi nosić jarzmo od dzieciństwa swego;

He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him.

Który będąc opuszczony, cierpliwym jest w tem, co nań włożono;

He putteth his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.

Kładzie w prochu usta swe, ażby się okazała nadzieja;

He giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach.

Nadstawia bijącemu policzka, a nasycony bywa obelżeniem.

For the Lord will not cast off for ever:

Bo Pan na wieki nie odrzuca;

But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.

Owszem, jeźli zasmuca, zasię się zmiłuje według mnóstwa miłosierdzia swego.

For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

Zaiste nie z serca trapi i zasmuca synów ludzkich.

To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth,

Aby kto starł nogami swemi wszystkich więźniów w ziemi;

To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,

Aby kto niesprawiedliwie sądził męża przed obliczem Najwyższego;

To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not.

Aby kto wywrócił człowieka w sprawie jego, Pan się w tem nie kocha.

Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?

Któż jest, coby rzekł: Stało się, a Pan nie przykazał?

Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?

Izali z ust Najwyższego nie pochodzi złe i dobre?

Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?

Przeczżeby tedy sobie utyskiwać miał człowiek żyjący, a mąż nad kaźnią za grzechy swoje.

Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.

Dowiadujmy się raczej, a badajmy się dróg naszych, nawróćmy się do Pana;

Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.

Podnieśmy serca i ręce nasze w niebo do Boga.

We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned.

Myśmy wstąpili i staliśmy się odpornymi; przetoż ty nie odpuszczasz.

Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied.

Okryłeś się zapalczywością, i gonisz nas, mordujesz, a nie szanujesz.

Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through.

Okryłeś się obłokiem, aby cię nie dochodziła modlitwa.

Thou hast made us as the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people.

Za śmieci i za pomiotło położyłeś nas w pośrodku tych narodów.

All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.

Otworzyli na nas usta swoje wszyscy nieprzyjaciele nasi.

Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction.

Strach i dół przyszedł na nas, spustoszenie i skruszenie.

Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.

Strumienie wód płyną z oczów moich, dla skruszenia córki ludu mojego.

Mine eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission,

Oczy moje płyną bez przestanku, przeto, że niemasz żadnej ulgi,

Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven.

Ażby wejrzał i obaczył Pan z nieba.

Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.

Oczy moje trapią duszę moję dla wszystkich córek miasta mojego.

Mine enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause.

Łowili mię ustawicznie jako ptaka nieprzyjaciele moi bez przyczyny.

They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.

Wrzucili do dołu żywot mój, a przywalili mię kamieniem.

Waters flowed over mine head; then I said, I am cut off.

Wezbrały wody nad głową moją, i rzekłem: Jużci po mnie!

I called upon thy name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon.

Wzywam imienia twego, o Panie! z dołu bardzo głębokiego.

Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.

Głos mój wysłuchiwałeś; nie zatulajże ucha twego przed wzdychaniem mojem, i przed wołaniem mojem.

Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not.

Przybliżając się do mnie w dzień, któregom cię wzywał, mawiałeś: Nie bój się.

O Lord, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.

Zastawiałeś się, Panie! o sprawę duszy mojej, a wybawiałeś żywot mój.

O LORD, thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause.

Widzisz, o Panie! bezprawie, które mi się dzieje, osądźże sprawę moję.

Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me.

Widzisz wszystkę pomstę ich, i wszystkie zamysły ich przeciwko mnie.

Thou hast heard their reproach, O LORD, and all their imaginations against me;

Słyszysz urąganie ich, o Panie! i wszystkie zamysły ich przeciwko mnie.

The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.

Słyszysz wargi powstawających przeciwko mnie, i przemyśliwanie ich przeciwko mnie przez cały dzień.

Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their musick.

Obacz siadanie ich, i wstawanie ich; jam zawżdy jest pieśnią ich.

Render unto them a recompence, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.

Oddajże im nagrodę, Panie! według sprawy rąk ich;

Give them sorrow of heart, thy curse unto them.

Dajże im zatwardziałe serce, i przeklęstwo swe na nich;

Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD.

Goń ich w zapalczywości, a zgładź ich, aby nie byli pod niebem twojem, o Panie!
