Matthew 26

یہ باتیں ختم کرنے پر عیسیٰ شاگردوں سے مخاطب ہوا،

And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,

”تم جانتے ہو کہ دو دن کے بعد فسح کی عید شروع ہو گی۔ اُس وقت ابنِ آدم کو دشمن کے حوالے کیا جائے گا تاکہ اُسے مصلوب کیا جائے۔“

Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.

پھر راہنما امام اور قوم کے بزرگ کائفا نامی امامِ اعظم کے محل میں جمع ہوئے

Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,

اور عیسیٰ کو کسی چالاکی سے گرفتار کر کے قتل کرنے کی سازشیں کرنے لگے۔

And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.

اُنہوں نے کہا، ”لیکن یہ عید کے دوران نہیں ہونا چاہئے، ایسا نہ ہو کہ عوام میں ہل چل مچ جائے۔“

But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.

اِتنے میں عیسیٰ بیت عنیاہ آ کر ایک آدمی کے گھر میں داخل ہوا جو کسی وقت کوڑھ کا مریض تھا۔ اُس کا نام شمعون تھا۔

Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,

عیسیٰ کھانا کھانے کے لئے بیٹھ گیا تو ایک عورت آئی جس کے پاس نہایت قیمتی عطر کا عطردان تھا۔ اُس نے اُسے عیسیٰ کے سر پر اُنڈیل دیا۔

There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.

شاگرد یہ دیکھ کر ناراض ہوئے۔ اُنہوں نے کہا، ”اِتنا قیمتی عطر ضائع کرنے کی کیا ضرورت تھی؟

But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?

یہ بہت مہنگی چیز ہے۔ اگر اِسے بیچا جاتا تو اِس کے پیسے غریبوں کو دیئے جا سکتے تھے۔“

For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.

لیکن اُن کے خیال پہچان کر عیسیٰ نے اُن سے کہا، ”تم اِسے کیوں تنگ کر رہے ہو؟ اِس نے تو میرے لئے ایک نیک کام کیا ہے۔

When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.

غریب تو ہمیشہ تمہارے پاس رہیں گے، لیکن مَیں ہمیشہ تک تمہارے پاس نہیں رہوں گا۔

For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

مجھ پر عطر اُنڈیلنے سے اُس نے میرے بدن کو دفن ہونے کے لئے تیار کیا ہے۔

For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.

مَیں تم کو سچ بتاتا ہوں کہ تمام دنیا میں جہاں بھی اللہ کی خوش خبری کا اعلان کیا جائے گا وہاں لوگ اِس خاتون کو یاد کر کے وہ کچھ سنائیں گے جو اِس نے کیا ہے۔“

Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.

پھر یہوداہ اسکریوتی جو بارہ شاگردوں میں سے ایک تھا راہنما اماموں کے پاس گیا۔

Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,

اُس نے پوچھا، ”آپ مجھے عیسیٰ کو آپ کے حوالے کرنے کے عوض کتنے پیسے دینے کے لئے تیار ہیں؟“ اُنہوں نے اُس کے لئے چاندی کے 30 سِکے متعین کئے۔

And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

اُس وقت سے یہوداہ عیسیٰ کو اُن کے حوالے کرنے کا موقع ڈھونڈنے لگا۔

And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

بےخمیری روٹی کی عید آئی۔ پہلے دن عیسیٰ کے شاگردوں نے اُس کے پاس آ کر پوچھا، ”ہم کہاں آپ کے لئے فسح کا کھانا تیار کریں؟“

Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?

اُس نے جواب دیا، ”یروشلم شہر میں فلاں آدمی کے پاس جاؤ اور اُسے بتاؤ، ’اُستاد نے کہا ہے کہ میرا مقررہ وقت قریب آ گیا ہے۔ مَیں اپنے شاگردوں کے ساتھ فسح کی عید کا کھانا آپ کے گھر میں کھاؤں گا‘۔“

And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.

شاگردوں نے وہ کچھ کیا جو عیسیٰ نے اُنہیں بتایا تھا اور فسح کی عید کا کھانا تیار کیا۔

And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.

شام کے وقت عیسیٰ بارہ شاگردوں کے ساتھ کھانا کھانے کے لئے بیٹھ گیا۔

Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.

جب وہ کھانا کھا رہے تھے تو اُس نے کہا، ”مَیں تم کو سچ بتاتا ہوں کہ تم میں سے ایک مجھے دشمن کے حوالے کر دے گا۔“

And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.

شاگرد یہ سن کر نہایت غمگین ہوئے۔ باری باری وہ اُس سے پوچھنے لگے، ”خداوند، مَیں تو نہیں ہوں؟“

And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?

عیسیٰ نے جواب دیا، ”جس نے میرے ساتھ اپنا ہاتھ سالن کے برتن میں ڈالا ہے وہی مجھے دشمن کے حوالے کرے گا۔

And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.

ابنِ آدم تو کوچ کر جائے گا جس طرح کلامِ مُقدّس میں لکھا ہے، لیکن اُس شخص پر افسوس جس کے وسیلے سے اُسے دشمن کے حوالے کر دیا جائے گا۔ اُس کے لئے بہتریہ ہوتا کہ وہ کبھی پیدا ہی نہ ہوتا۔“

The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.

پھر یہوداہ نے جو اُسے دشمن کے حوالے کرنے کو تھا پوچھا، ”اُستاد، مَیں تو نہیں ہوں؟“ عیسیٰ نے جواب دیا، ”جی، تم نے خود کہا ہے۔“

Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.

کھانے کے دوران عیسیٰ نے روٹی لے کر شکرگزاری کی دعا کی اور اُسے ٹکڑے کر کے شاگردوں کو دے دیا۔ اُس نے کہا، ”یہ لو اور کھاؤ۔ یہ میرا بدن ہے۔“

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.

پھر اُس نے مَے کا پیالہ لے کر شکرگزاری کی دعا کی اور اُسے اُنہیں دے کر کہا، ”تم سب اِس میں سے پیؤ۔

And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;

یہ میرا خون ہے، نئے عہد کا وہ خون جو بہتوں کے لئے بہایا جاتا ہے تاکہ اُن کے گناہوں کو معاف کر دیا جائے۔

For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

مَیں تم کو سچ بتاتا ہوں کہ اب سے مَیں انگور کا یہ رس نہیں پیؤں گا، کیونکہ اگلی دفعہ اِسے تمہارے ساتھ اپنے باپ کی بادشاہی میں ہی پیؤں گا۔“

But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

پھر ایک زبور گا کر وہ نکلے اور زیتون کے پہاڑ کے پاس پہنچے۔

And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

عیسیٰ نے اُنہیں بتایا، ”آج رات تم سب میری بابت برگشتہ ہو جاؤ گے، کیونکہ کلامِ مُقدّس میں اللہ فرماتا ہے، ’مَیں چرواہے کو مار ڈالوں گا اور ریوڑ کی بھیڑیں تتر بتر ہو جائیں گی۔‘

Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.

لیکن اپنے جی اُٹھنے کے بعد مَیں تمہارے آگے آگے گلیل پہنچوں گا۔“

But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.

پطرس نے اعتراض کیا، ”دوسرے بےشک سب آپ کی بابت برگشتہ ہو جائیں، لیکن مَیں کبھی نہیں ہوں گا۔“

Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended.

عیسیٰ نے جواب دیا، ”مَیں تجھے سچ بتاتا ہوں، اِسی رات مرغ کے بانگ دینے سے پہلے پہلے تُو تین بار مجھے جاننے سے انکار کر چکا ہو گا۔“

Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

پطرس نے کہا، ”ہرگز نہیں! مَیں آپ کو جاننے سے کبھی انکار نہیں کروں گا، چاہے مجھے آپ کے ساتھ مرنا بھی پڑے۔“ دوسروں نے بھی یہی کچھ کہا۔

Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.

عیسیٰ اپنے شاگردوں کے ساتھ ایک باغ میں پہنچا جس کا نام گتسمنی تھا۔ اُس نے اُن سے کہا، ”یہاں بیٹھ کر میرا انتظار کرو۔ مَیں دعا کرنے کے لئے آگے جاتا ہوں۔“

Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.

اُس نے پطرس اور زبدی کے دو بیٹوں یعقوب اور یوحنا کو ساتھ لیا۔ وہاں وہ غمگین اور بےقرار ہونے لگا۔

And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.

اُس نے اُن سے کہا، ”مَیں دُکھ سے اِتنا دبا ہوا ہوں کہ مرنے کو ہوں۔ یہاں ٹھہر کر میرے ساتھ جاگتے رہو۔“

Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.

کچھ آگے جا کر وہ اوندھے منہ زمین پر گر کر یوں دعا کرنے لگا، ”اے میرے باپ، اگر ممکن ہو تو دُکھ کا یہ پیالہ مجھ سے ہٹ جائے۔ لیکن میری نہیں بلکہ تیری مرضی پوری ہو۔“

And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

وہ اپنے شاگردوں کے پاس واپس آیا تو دیکھا کہ وہ سو رہے ہیں۔ اُس نے پطرس سے پوچھا، ”کیا تم لوگ ایک گھنٹا بھی میرے ساتھ نہیں جاگ سکے؟

And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

جاگتے اور دعا کرتے رہو تاکہ آزمائش میں نہ پڑو۔ کیونکہ روح تو تیار ہے لیکن جسم کمزور۔“

Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

ایک بار پھر اُس نے جا کر دعا کی، ”میرے باپ، اگر یہ پیالہ میرے پیئے بغیر ہٹ نہیں سکتا تو پھر تیری مرضی پوری ہو۔“

He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

جب وہ واپس آیا تو دوبارہ دیکھا کہ وہ سو رہے ہیں، کیونکہ نیند کی بدولت اُن کی آنکھیں بوجھل تھیں۔

And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.

چنانچہ وہ اُنہیں دوبارہ چھوڑ کر چلا گیا اور تیسری بار یہی دعا کرنے لگا۔

And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.

پھر عیسیٰ شاگردوں کے پاس واپس آیا اور اُن سے کہا، ”ابھی تک سو اور آرام کر رہے ہو؟ دیکھو، وقت آ گیا ہے کہ ابنِ آدم گناہ گاروں کے حوالے کیا جائے۔

Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

اُٹھو! آؤ، چلیں۔ دیکھو، مجھے دشمن کے حوالے کرنے والا قریب آ چکا ہے۔“

Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.

وہ ابھی یہ بات کر ہی رہا تھا کہ یہوداہ پہنچ گیا، جو بارہ شاگردوں میں سے ایک تھا۔ اُس کے ساتھ تلواروں اور لاٹھیوں سے لیس آدمیوں کا بڑا ہجوم تھا۔ اُنہیں راہنما اماموں اور قوم کے بزرگوں نے بھیجا تھا۔

And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.

اِس غدار یہوداہ نے اُنہیں ایک امتیازی نشان دیا تھا کہ جس کو مَیں بوسہ دوں وہی عیسیٰ ہے۔ اُسے گرفتار کر لینا۔

Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.

جوں ہی وہ پہنچے یہوداہ عیسیٰ کے پاس گیا اور ”اُستاد، السلام علیکم!“ کہہ کر اُسے بوسہ دیا۔

And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.

عیسیٰ نے کہا، ”دوست، کیا تُو اِسی مقصد سے آیا ہے؟“ پھر اُنہوں نے اُسے پکڑ کر گرفتار کر لیا۔

And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.

اِس پر عیسیٰ کے ایک ساتھی نے اپنی تلوار میان سے نکالی اور امامِ اعظم کے غلام کو مار کر اُس کا کان اُڑا دیا۔

And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear.

لیکن عیسیٰ نے کہا، ”اپنی تلوار کو میان میں رکھ، کیونکہ جو بھی تلوار چلاتا ہے اُسے تلوار سے مارا جائے گا۔

Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

یا کیا تُو نہیں سمجھتا کہ میرا باپ مجھے ہزاروں فرشتے فوراً بھیج دے گا اگر مَیں اُنہیں طلب کروں؟

Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

لیکن اگر مَیں ایسا کرتا تو پھر کلامِ مُقدّس کی پیش گوئیاں کس طرح پوری ہوتیں جن کے مطابق یہ ایسا ہی ہونا ہے؟“

But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

اُس وقت عیسیٰ نے ہجوم سے کہا، ”کیا مَیں ڈاکو ہوں کہ تم تلواریں اور لاٹھیاں لئے مجھے گرفتار کرنے نکلے ہو؟ مَیں تو روزانہ بیت المُقدّس میں بیٹھ کر تعلیم دیتا رہا، مگر تم نے مجھے گرفتار نہیں کیا۔

In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.

لیکن یہ سب کچھ اِس لئے ہو رہا ہے تاکہ نبیوں کے صحیفوں میں درج پیش گوئیاں پوری ہو جائیں۔“ پھر تمام شاگرد اُسے چھوڑ کر بھاگ گئے۔

But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

جنہوں نے عیسیٰ کو گرفتار کیا تھا وہ اُسے کائفا امامِ اعظم کے گھر لے گئے جہاں شریعت کے تمام علما اور قوم کے بزرگ جمع تھے۔

And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.

اِتنے میں پطرس کچھ فاصلے پر عیسیٰ کے پیچھے پیچھے امامِ اعظم کے صحن تک پہنچ گیا۔ اُس میں داخل ہو کر وہ ملازموں کے ساتھ آگ کے پاس بیٹھ گیا تاکہ اِس سلسلے کا انجام دیکھ سکے۔

But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.

مکان کے اندر راہنما امام اور یہودی عدالتِ عالیہ کے تمام افراد عیسیٰ کے خلاف جھوٹی گواہیاں ڈھونڈ رہے تھے تاکہ اُسے سزائے موت دلوا سکیں۔

Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;

بہت سے جھوٹے گواہ سامنے آئے، لیکن کوئی ایسی گواہی نہ ملی۔ آخرکار دو آدمیوں نے سامنے آ کر

But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,

یہ بات پیش کی، ”اِس نے کہا ہے کہ مَیں اللہ کے بیت المُقدّس کو ڈھا کر اُسے تین دن کے اندر اندر دوبارہ تعمیر کر سکتا ہوں۔“

And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.

پھر امامِ اعظم نے کھڑے ہو کر عیسیٰ سے کہا، ”کیا تُو کوئی جواب نہیں دے گا؟ یہ کیا گواہیاں ہیں جو یہ لوگ تیرے خلاف دے رہے ہیں؟“

And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?

لیکن عیسیٰ خاموش رہا۔ امامِ اعظم نے اُس سے ایک اَور سوال کیا، ”مَیں تجھے زندہ خدا کی قَسم دے کر پوچھتا ہوں کہ کیا تُو اللہ کا فرزند مسیح ہے؟“

But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.

عیسیٰ نے کہا، ”جی، تُو نے خود کہہ دیا ہے۔ اور مَیں تم سب کو بتاتا ہوں کہ آئندہ تم ابنِ آدم کو قادرِ مطلق کے دہنے ہاتھ بیٹھے اور آسمان کے بادلوں پر آتے ہوئے دیکھو گے۔“

Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

امامِ اعظم نے رنجش کا اظہار کر کے اپنے کپڑے پھاڑ لئے اور کہا، ”اِس نے کفر بکا ہے! ہمیں مزید گواہوں کی کیا ضرورت رہی! آپ نے خود سن لیا ہے کہ اِس نے کفر بکا ہے۔

Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.

آپ کا کیا فیصلہ ہے؟“ اُنہوں نے جواب دیا، ”یہ سزائے موت کے لائق ہے۔“

What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.

پھر وہ اُس پر تھوکنے اور اُس کے مُکے مارنے لگے۔ بعض نے اُس کے تھپڑ مار مار کر

Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,

کہا، ”اے مسیح، نبوّت کر کے ہمیں بتا کہ تجھے کس نے مارا۔“

Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?

اِس دوران پطرس باہر صحن میں بیٹھا تھا۔ ایک نوکرانی اُس کے پاس آئی۔ اُس نے کہا، ”تم بھی گلیل کے اُس آدمی عیسیٰ کے ساتھ تھے۔“

Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.

لیکن پطرس نے اُن سب کے سامنے انکار کیا، ”مَیں نہیں جانتا کہ تُو کیا بات کر رہی ہے۔“ یہ کہہ کر

But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.

وہ باہر گیٹ تک گیا۔ وہاں ایک اَور نوکرانی نے اُسے دیکھا اور پاس کھڑے لوگوں سے کہا، ”یہ آدمی عیسیٰ ناصری کے ساتھ تھا۔“

And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.

دوبارہ پطرس نے انکار کیا۔ اِس دفعہ اُس نے قَسم کھا کر کہا، ”مَیں اِس آدمی کو نہیں جانتا۔“

And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.

تھوڑی دیر کے بعد وہاں کھڑے کچھ لوگوں نے پطرس کے پاس آ کر کہا، ”تم ضرور اُن میں سے ہو کیونکہ تمہاری بولی سے صاف پتا چلتا ہے۔“

And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.

اِس پر پطرس نے قَسم کھا کر کہا، ”مجھ پر لعنت اگر مَیں جھوٹ بول رہا ہوں۔ مَیں اِس آدمی کو نہیں جانتا!“ فوراً مرغ کی بانگ سنائی دی۔

Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.

پھر پطرس کو وہ بات یاد آئی جو عیسیٰ نے کہی تھی، ”مرغ کے بانگ دینے سے پہلے پہلے تُو تین بار مجھے جاننے سے انکار کر چکا ہو گا۔“ اِس پر وہ باہر نکلا اور ٹوٹے دل سے خوب رویا۔

And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
