II Samuel 22

جس دن رب نے داؤد کو تمام دشمنوں اور ساؤل کے ہاتھ سے بچایا اُس دن بادشاہ نے گیت گایا،

And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:

”رب میری چٹان، میرا قلعہ اور میرا نجات دہندہ ہے۔

And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;

میرا خدا میری چٹان ہے جس میں مَیں پناہ لیتا ہوں۔ وہ میری ڈھال، میری نجات کا پہاڑ، میرا بلند حصار اور میری پناہ گاہ ہے۔ تُو میرا نجات دہندہ ہے جو مجھے ظلم و تشدد سے بچاتا ہے۔

The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

مَیں رب کو پکارتا ہوں، اُس کی تمجید ہو! تب وہ مجھے دشمنوں سے چھٹکارا دیتا ہے۔

I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

موت کی موجوں نے مجھے گھیر لیا، ہلاکت کے سیلاب نے میرے دل پر دہشت طاری کی۔

When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid;

پاتال کے رسّوں نے مجھے جکڑ لیا، موت نے میرے راستے میں اپنے پھندے ڈال دیئے۔

The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;

جب مَیں مصیبت میں پھنس گیا تو مَیں نے رب کو پکارا۔ مَیں نے مدد کے لئے اپنے خدا سے فریاد کی تو اُس نے اپنی سکونت گاہ سے میری آواز سنی، میری چیخیں اُس کے کان تک پہنچ گئیں۔

In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

تب زمین لرز اُٹھی اور تھرتھرانے لگی، آسمان کی بنیادیں رب کے غضب کے سامنے کانپنے اور جھولنے لگیں۔

Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.

اُس کی ناک سے دھواں نکل آیا، اُس کے منہ سے بھسم کرنے والے شعلے اور دہکتے کوئلے بھڑک اُٹھے۔

There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

آسمان کو جھکا کر وہ نازل ہوا۔ جب اُتر آیا تو اُس کے پاؤں کے نیچے اندھیرا ہی اندھیرا تھا۔

He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.

وہ کروبی فرشتے پر سوار ہوا اور اُڑ کر ہَوا کے پَروں پر منڈلانے لگا۔

And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.

اُس نے اندھیرے کو اپنی چھپنے کی جگہ بنایا، بارش کے کالے اور گھنے بادل خیمے کی طرح اپنے ارد گرد لگائے۔

And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.

اُس کے حضور کی تیز روشنی سے شعلہ زن کوئلے پھوٹ نکلے۔

Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.

رب آسمان سے کڑکنے لگا، اللہ تعالیٰ کی آواز گونج اُٹھی۔

The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.

اُس نے اپنے تیر چلا دیئے تو دشمن تتر بتر ہو گئے۔ اُس کی بجلی اِدھر اُدھر گرتی گئی تو اُن میں ہل چل مچ گئی۔

And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.

رب نے ڈانٹا تو سمندر کی وادیاں ظاہر ہوئیں، جب وہ غصے میں گرجا تو اُس کے دم کے جھونکوں سے زمین کی بنیادیں نظر آئیں۔

And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

بلندیوں پر سے اپنا ہاتھ بڑھا کر اُس نے مجھے پکڑ لیا، گہرے پانی میں سے کھینچ کر مجھے نکال لایا۔

He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;

اُس نے مجھے میرے زبردست دشمن سے بچایا، اُن سے جو مجھ سے نفرت کرتے ہیں، جن پر مَیں غالب نہ آ سکا۔

He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.

جس دن مَیں مصیبت میں پھنس گیا اُس دن اُنہوں نے مجھ پر حملہ کیا، لیکن رب میرا سہارا بنا رہا۔

They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.

اُس نے مجھے تنگ جگہ سے نکال کر چھٹکارا دیا، کیونکہ وہ مجھ سے خوش تھا۔

He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

رب مجھے میری راست بازی کا اجر دیتا ہے۔ میرے ہاتھ صاف ہیں، اِس لئے وہ مجھے برکت دیتا ہے۔

The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

کیونکہ مَیں رب کی راہوں پر چلتا رہا ہوں، مَیں بدی کر نے سے اپنے خدا سے دُور نہیں ہوا۔

For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

اُس کے تمام احکام میرے سامنے رہے ہیں، مَیں اُس کے فرمانوں سے نہیں ہٹا۔

For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.

اُس کے سامنے ہی مَیں بےالزام رہا، گناہ کرنے سے باز رہا ہوں۔

I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.

اِس لئے رب نے مجھے میری راست بازی کا اجر دیا، کیونکہ اُس کی آنکھوں کے سامنے ہی مَیں پاک صاف ثابت ہوا۔

Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.

اے اللہ، جو وفادار ہے اُس کے ساتھ تیرا سلوک وفاداری کا ہے، جو بےالزام ہے اُس کے ساتھ تیرا سلوک بےالزام ہے۔

With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.

جو پاک ہے اُس کے ساتھ تیرا سلوک پاک ہے۔ لیکن جو کج رَو ہے اُس کے ساتھ تیرا سلوک بھی کج رَوی کا ہے۔

With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.

تُو پست حالوں کو نجات دیتا ہے، اور تیری آنکھیں مغروروں پر لگی رہتی ہیں تاکہ اُنہیں پست کریں۔

And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.

اے رب، تُو ہی میرا چراغ ہے، رب ہی میرے اندھیرے کو روشن کرتا ہے۔

For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness.

کیونکہ تیرے ساتھ مَیں فوجی دستے پر حملہ کر سکتا، اپنے خدا کے ساتھ دیوار کو پھلانگ سکتا ہوں۔

For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.

اللہ کی راہ کامل ہے، رب کا فرمان خالص ہے۔ جو بھی اُس میں پناہ لے اُس کی وہ ڈھال ہے۔

As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

کیونکہ رب کے سوا کون خدا ہے؟ ہمارے خدا کے سوا کون چٹان ہے؟

For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?

اللہ مجھے قوت سے کمربستہ کرتا، وہ میری راہ کو کامل کر دیتا ہے۔

God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

وہ میرے پاؤں کو ہرن کی سی پُھرتی عطا کرتا، مجھے مضبوطی سے میری بلندیوں پر کھڑا کرتا ہے۔

He maketh my feet like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon my high places.

وہ میرے ہاتھوں کو جنگ کرنے کی تربیت دیتا ہے۔ اب میرے بازو پیتل کی کمان کو بھی تان لیتے ہیں۔

He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

اے رب، تُو نے مجھے اپنی نجات کی ڈھال بخش دی ہے، تیری نرمی نے مجھے بڑا بنا دیا ہے۔

Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.

تُو میرے قدموں کے لئے راستہ بنا دیتا ہے، اِس لئے میرے ٹخنے نہیں ڈگمگاتے۔

Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.

مَیں نے اپنے دشمنوں کا تعاقب کر کے اُنہیں کچل دیا، مَیں باز نہ آیا جب تک وہ ختم نہ ہو گئے۔

I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.

مَیں نے اُنہیں تباہ کر کے یوں پاش پاش کر دیا کہ دوبارہ اُٹھ نہ سکے بلکہ گر کر میرے پاؤں تلے پڑے رہے۔

And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet.

کیونکہ تُو نے مجھے جنگ کرنے کے لئے قوت سے کمربستہ کر دیا، تُو نے میرے مخالفوں کو میرے سامنے جھکا دیا۔

For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.

تُو نے میرے دشمنوں کو میرے سامنے سے بھگا دیا، اور مَیں نے نفرت کرنے والوں کو تباہ کر دیا۔

Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.

وہ مدد کے لئے چیختے چلّاتے رہے، لیکن بچانے والا کوئی نہیں تھا۔ وہ رب کو پکارتے رہے، لیکن اُس نے جواب نہ دیا۔

They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.

مَیں نے اُنہیں چُور چُور کر کے گرد کی طرح ہَوا میں اُڑا دیا۔ مَیں نے اُنہیں گلی میں مٹی کی طرح پاؤں تلے روند کر ریزہ ریزہ کر دیا۔

Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad.

تُو نے مجھے میری قوم کے جھگڑوں سے بچا کر اقوام پر میری حکومت قائم رکھی ہے۔ جس قوم سے مَیں ناواقف تھا وہ میری خدمت کرتی ہے۔

Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me.

پردیسی دبک کر میری خوشامد کرتے ہیں۔ جوں ہی مَیں بات کرتا ہوں تو وہ میری سنتے ہیں۔

Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me.

وہ ہمت ہار کر کانپتے ہوئے اپنے قلعوں سے نکل آتے ہیں۔

Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places.

رب زندہ ہے! میری چٹان کی تمجید ہو! میرے خدا کی تعظیم ہو جو میری نجات کی چٹان ہے۔

The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.

وہی خدا ہے جو میرا انتقام لیتا، اقوام کو میرے تابع کر دیتا

It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me,

اور مجھے میرے دشمنوں سے چھٹکارا دیتا ہے۔ یقیناً تُو مجھے میرے مخالفوں پر سرفراز کرتا، مجھے ظالموں سے بچائے رکھتا ہے۔

And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

اے رب، اِس لئے مَیں اقوام میں تیری حمد و ثنا کروں گا، تیرے نام کی تعریف میں گیت گاؤں گا۔

Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.

کیونکہ رب اپنے بادشاہ کو بڑی نجات دیتا ہے، وہ اپنے مسح کئے ہوئے بادشاہ داؤد اور اُس کی اولاد پر ہمیشہ تک مہربان رہے گا۔“

He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.
