II Samuel 22

Och David talade till HERREN denna sångs ord, när HERREN hade räddat honom från alla hans fienders hand och från Sauls hand.Ps. 18,1 f.

And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:

Han sade:  HERRE, du mitt bergfäste, min borg och min räddare,5 Mos. 32,4

And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;

 Gud, du min klippa, till vilken jag tager min tillflykt,  min sköld och min frälsnings horn,    mitt värn och min tillflykt,  min frälsare, du som frälsar mig från våldet!Ps. 3,4. 144,2. Luk. 1,69. Hebr. 2,13.

The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

 HERREN, den högtlovade, åkallar jag,  och från mina fiender bliver jag frälst.Ps. 146,2.

I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

 Ty dödens bränningar omvärvde mig,  fördärvets strömmar förskräckte mig,Ps. 55,5.

When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid;

 dödsrikets band omslöto mig,  dödens snaror föllo över mig.Ps. 116,3.

The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;

 Men jag åkallade HERREN i min nöd,  ja, jag gick med min åkallan till min Gud.  Och han hörde från sin himmelska boning min röst,  och mitt rop kom till hans öron.Ps. 3,5. Jon. 2,3 f.

In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

 Då skalv jorden och bävade,  himmelens grundvalar darrade;  de skakades, ty hans vrede var upptänd.Ps. 68,9.

Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.

 Rök steg upp från hans näsa  och förtärande eld från hans mun,  eldsglöd ljungade från honom.2 Mos. 19,18. 24.17. 5 Mos. 4,24. 32,22.

There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

 Och han sänkte himmelen och for ned  och töcken var under hans fötter.

He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.

 Han for på keruben och flög,  han sågs komma på vindens vingarPS. 99,1. 104,3. Hes. 9,3.

And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.

 Och han gjorde mörker till en hydda som omslöt honom:  vattenhopar, tjocka moln.Ps. 97,2. Jes. 45,15. 50,3

And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.

 Ur glansen framför honom ljungade eldsglöd.

Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.

 HERREN dundrade från himmelen  den Högste lät höra sin röst.Ps. 29,3.

The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.

 Han sköt pilar och förskingrade dem,  ljungeld och förvirrade dem.1 Sam. 7,10. Ps. 148,8.

And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.

 Havets bäddar kommo i dagen,  jordens grundvalar blottades,  för HERRENS näpst,  för hans vredes stormvind.

And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

 Han räckte ut sin hand från höjden och fattade mig,  han drog mig upp ur de stora vattnen.Ps. 32,6. 69,2 f. 144,7.

He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;

 Han räddade mig från min starke fiende,  från mina ovänner, ty de voro mig övermäktiga.1 Sam. 23,1 f.

He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.

 De överföllo mig på min olyckas dag,  men HERREN blev mitt stöd.

They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.

 Han förde mig ut på rymlig plats  han räddade mig, ty han hade behag till mig.

He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

 HERREN lönar mig efter min rättfärdighet;  efter mina händers renhet vedergäller han mig.Job 22,30. Ps. 17,1.

The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

 Ty jag höll mig på HERRENS vägar  och avföll icke från min Gud i ogudaktighet;

For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

 nej, alla hans rätter hade jag för ögonen,  och från hans stadgar vek jag icke av.

For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.

 Så var jag ostrafflig för honom  och tog mig till vara för missgärning.1 Kon. 14,8. 15,5.

I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.

 Därför vedergällde mig HERREN efter min rättfärdighet,  efter min renhet inför hans ögon.1 Sam. 26,23 f.

Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.

 Mot den fromme bevisar du dig from,  mot en ostrafflig hjälte bevisar du dig ostrafflig.

With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.

 Mot den rene bevisar du dig ren,  men mot den vrånge bevisar du dig avog.3 Mos. 26,23 f. Ords. 3,34. Hes. 7,27.

With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.

 och du frälsar ett betryckt folk,  men dina ögon äro emot de stolta, till att ödmjuka dem.Dan. 4,34. Luk. 1,51 f.

And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.

 Ja, du, HERRE, är min lampa;  ty HERREN gör mitt mörker ljust.Ps. 112,4.

For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness.

 Ja, med dig kan jag nedslå härskaror,  med min Gud stormar jag murar.Ps. 60,14. Fil. 4,13.

For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.

 Guds väg är ostrafflig,  HERRENS tal är luttrat.  En sköld är han för alla    som taga sin tillflykt till honom.Ps. 12,7. Ords. 30,5.

As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

 Ty vem är Gud förutom HERREN,  och vem är en klippa förutom vår Gud?5 Mos. 4,35. 32,39. 1 Sam. 2,2. Jes. 43,11. 44,6, 8.

For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?

 Gud, du som var mitt starka värn  och ledde den ostrafflige på hans väg,

God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

 du som gjorde hans fötter såsom hindens  och ställde mig på mina höjder,Hab. 3,19.

He maketh my feet like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon my high places.

 du som lärde mina händer att strida  och mina armar att spänna kopparbågen!Ps. 144,1.

He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

 Du gav mig din frälsnings sköld  och din bönhörelse gjorde mig stor,

Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.

 du skaffade rum för mina steg, där jag gick,  och mina fötter vacklade icke.Ps. 17,5. 31,9.

Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.

 Jag förföljde mina fiender och förgjorde dem;  jag vände icke tillbaka, förrän jag hade gjort ände på dem.

I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.

 Ja, jag gjorde ände på dem och slog dem,    så att de icke mer reste sig;  de föllo under mina fötter.

And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet.

 Du omgjordade mig med kraft till striden,  du böjde mina motståndare under mig.

For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.

 Mina fiender drev du på flykten för mig,  dem som hatade mig förgjorde jag.

Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.

 De sågo sig omkring, men det fanns ingen som frälste;  efter HERREN, men han svarade dem icke.Joh. 9,31.

They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.

 Och jag stötte dem sönder till stoft på jorden,  jag krossade och förtrampade dem    såsom orenlighet på gatan.

Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad.

 Du räddade mig ur mitt folks strider,  du bevarade mig till ett huvud över hedningar;  folkslag som jag ej kände blevo mina tjänare.

Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me.

 Främlingar visade mig underdånighet;  vid blotta ryktet hörsammade de mig.5 Mos 33,29.

Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me.

 Ja, främlingarnas mod vissnade bort;  de omgjordade sig och övergåvo sina borgar.

Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places.

 HERREN lever!  Lovad vare min klippa,  upphöjd vare Gud, min frälsnings klippa!

The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.

 Gud, som har givit mig hämnd  och lagt folken under mig;

It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me,

 du som har fört mig ut från mina fiender  och upphöjt mig över mina motståndare,  räddat mig från våldets man!

And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

 Fördenskull vill jag tacka dig,  HERRE, bland hedningarna,  och lovsjunga ditt namn.Rom. 15,9.

Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.

 Ty du giver din konung stor seger  och gör nåd mot din smorde,  mot David och hans säd till evig tid.2 Sam. 7,8 f.

He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.
