II Samuel 22

यहोवा ने दाऊद को शाऊल तथा अन्य सभी शत्रुओं से बचाया था। दाऊद ने उस समय यह गीत गाया,

And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:

यहोवा मेरी चट्टान, मरा गढ़ मेरा शरण—स्थल है।

And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;

मैं सहायता पाने को परमेश्वर तक दौड़ूँगा। वह मेरी सुरक्षा—चट्टान है। परमेश्वर मेरा ढाल है। उसकी शक्ति मेरी रक्षक है। यहोवा मेरी ऊँचा गढ़ है, और मेरी सुरक्षा का स्थान है। मेरा रक्षक कष्टों से मेरी रक्षा करता है।

The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

उन्होंने मेरा उपहास किया। मैंने सहायता के लिये यहोवा को पुकारा, यहोवा ने मुझे मेरे शत्रुओं से बचाया!

I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

मेरे शत्रु मुझे मारना चाहते थे। मृत्यु—तरंगों ने मुझे लपेट लिया।

When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid;

विपत्तियाँ बाढ़—सी आईं, उन्होंने मुझे भयभीत किया। कब्र की रस्सियाँ मेरे चारों ओर लिपटीं, मैं मृत्यु के जाल में फँसा।

The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;

मैं विपत्ति में था, किन्तु मैंने यहोवा को पुकारा। हाँ, मैंने अपने परमेश्वर को पुकारा वह अपने उपासना गृह में था, उसने मेरी पुकार सुनी, मेरी सहायता की पुकार उसके कानों में पड़ी।

In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

तब धरती में कम्पन हुआ, धरती डोल उठी, आकाश के आधार स्तम्भ काँप उठे। क्यों? क्योंकि यहोवा क्रोधित था।

Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.

उसकी नाक से धुआँ निकला, उसके मुख से जलती चिन्गारियाँ छिटकी, उससे दहकते अंगारे निकल पड़े।

There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

यहोवा ने आकाश को फाड़ कर खोल डाला, और नीचे आया, वह सघन काले मेघ पर खड़ा हुआ!

He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.

यहोवा करूब (स्वर्गदूत) पर बैठा, और उड़ा, वह पवन के पंखों पर चढ़ कर उड़ गया।

And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.

यहोवा ने तुम्बू—से काले मेघों को अपने चारों ओर लपेट लिया, उसने सघन मेघों से जल इकट्ठा किया।

And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.

उसका तेज इतना प्रखर था, मानो बिजली की मचक वहीं से आई हो।

Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.

यहोवा गगन से गरज! परमेश्वर, अति उच्च, बोला।

The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.

यहोवा ने बाण से शत्रुओं को बिखराया, यहोवा ने बिजली भेजी, और लोग भय से भागे।

And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.

धरती की नींव का आवरण हट गया, तब लोग सागर की गहराई देख सकते थे। वे हटे, क्योंकि यहोवा ने बातें कीं, उसकी अपनी नाक से तप्त वायु निकलने के कारण।

And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

यहोवा गगन से नीचे पहुँचा, यहोवा ने मुझे पकड़ लिया, उसने मुझे गहरे जल (विपत्ति) से निकाल लिया।

He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;

उसने उन लोगों से बचाया, जो घृणा करते थे, मुझसे मेरे शत्रु मुझसे अधिक शक्तिशाली थे, अत: उसने मेरी रक्षा की।

He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.

मैं विपत्ति में था, जब मेरे शत्रुओं का मुझ पर आक्रमण हुआ, किन्तु मेरे यहोवा ने मेरी साहयता की।

They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.

यहोवा मुझे सुरक्षा में ले आया, उसने मेरी रक्षा की, क्योंकि वह मुझसे प्रेम करता है।

He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

यहोवा मुझे पुरस्कार देता है, क्योंकि मैंने उचित किया। यहोवा मुझे पुरस्कार देता है, क्योंकि मेरे हाथ पाप रहित हैं।

The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

क्यों? क्योंकि मैंने यहोवा के नियमों का पालन किया। मैंने अपने परमेश्वर के विरुद्ध पाप नहीं किया।

For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

मैं सदा याद करता हूँ यहोवा का निर्णय, मैं उसके नियमों को मानता हूँ।

For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.

यहोवा जानता है—मैं अपराधी नहीं हूँ, मैं अपने को पापों से दूर रखता हूँ।

I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.

यही कारण है कि यहोवा मुझे पुरस्कार देता है, मैं न्यायोचित रहता हूँ। यहोवा देखता है, कि मैं स्वच्छ जीवन बिताता हूँ।

Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.

यदि कोई व्यक्ति तुझसे प्रेम करेगा तो तू, अपनी प्रेमपूर्ण दया उस पर करेगा। यदि कोई तेरे प्रति सच्चा है, तब तू भी उसके प्रति सच्चा होगा!

With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.

यदि कोई तेरे लिये अच्छा जीवन बिताता है, तब तू भी उसके लिये अच्छा बनेगा। किन्तु यदि कोई व्यक्ति तेरे विरुद्ध होता है, तब तू भी उसके विरुद्ध होगा।

With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.

तू विपत्ति में विन्रम लोगों को बचायेगा, किन्तु तू घमण्डी को नीचा करेगा।

And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.

यहोवा तू मेरा दीपक है, यहोवा मेरे चारों ओर के अंधेरे को प्रकाश में बदलता है।

For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness.

तू सैनिकों के दल को हराने में, मेरी सहायता करता है। परमेश्वर की शक्ति से मैं दीवर के ऊपर चढ़ सकता हूँ।

For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.

परमेश्वर की शक्ति पूर्ण है। यहोवा के वचन की जाँच हो चुकी है। यहोवा रक्षा के लिये, अपने पास भागने वाले हर व्यक्ति की ढाल है।

As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

यहोवा के अतिरिक्त कोई अन्य परमेश्वर नहीं, हमारे परमेश्वर के अतिरिक्त अन्य कोई आश्रय—शिला नहीं।

For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?

परमेश्वर मेरा दृढ़ गढ़ है वह निर्दोषों की शुद्ध आत्माओं की सहायता करता है।

God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

यहोवा मेरे पैरों को हिरन के पैरों—सा तेज बनाता है, वह उच्च स्थानों पर मुझे दृढ़ करता है।

He maketh my feet like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon my high places.

यहोवा मुझे युद्ध की शिक्षा देता है, अत: मेरी भुजायें पीतल के धनुष को चला सकती हैं।

He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

तू ढाल की तरह, मेरी रक्षा करता है। तेरी सहायता ने मुझे विजेता बनाया है।

Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.

तूने मेरा मार्ग विस्तृत किया है, जिससे मेरे पैर फिसले नहीं।

Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.

मैंने अपने शत्रुओं का पीछा किया, मैंने उन्हें नष्ट किया, मैं तब तक नहीं लौटा, जब तक शत्रु नष्ट न हुए।

I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.

मैंने अपने शत्रुओं को नष्ट किया है, मैंने उन्हें पूरी तरह नष्ट किया है। वे फिर उठ नहीं सकते, हाँ मेरे शत्रु मेरे पैरों के तले गिरे।

And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet.

परमेश्वर तूने मुझे युद्ध के लिये, शक्तिशाली बनाया। तूने मेरे शत्रुओं को हराया है।

For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.

तूने मेरे शत्रुओं को भगाया है, अत: मैं उन लोगों को हरा सकता हूँ जो मुझसे घृणा करते हैं।

Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.

मेरे शत्रुओं ने सहायता चाही, किन्तु उनका रक्षक कोई नहीं था। उन्होंने यहोवा से सहायता माँगी, लेकिन उसने उत्तर नहीं दिया।

They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.

मैं अपने शत्रुओं को कूटकर टुकड़े—टुकड़े करता हूँ, वे भूमि पर धूलि से हो जाते हैं। मैंने उन्हें सड़क की कीचड़ की तरह रौंद दिया।

Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad.

तूने तब भी मुझे बचाया है, जब मेरे लोगों ने मेरे विरुद्ध लड़ाई की। तूने मुझे राष्ट्रों का शासक बनाये रखा, वे लोग भी मेरी सेवा करेंगे, जिन्हें मैं नहीं जानता।

Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me.

अन्य देशों के लोग मेरी आज्ञा मानते हैं, जैसे ही सुनते हैं, तो शीघ्र ही मेरी आज्ञा स्वीकार करते हैं।

Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me.

अन्य देशों के लोग भयभीत होंगे, वे अपने छिपने के स्थानों से भय से काँपते निकलेंगे।

Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places.

यहोवा शाश्वत है, मेरी आश्रय चट्टान की स्तुति करो! परमेश्वर महान है! वह आश्रय—चट्टान है, जो मेरा रक्षक है।

The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.

वह परमेश्वर है, जो मेरे शत्रुओं को मेरे लिये दण्ड देता है। वह लोगों को मेरे अधीन करता है।

It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me,

वह मुझे मेरे शत्रुओं से मुक्त करता है। हाँ, तूने मुझे मेरे शत्रुओं से ऊपर उठाया। तू मुझे, प्रहार करने के इच्छुकों से बचाता है।

And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

यहोव, इसी कारण, हे यहोवा मैंने राष्ट्रों के बीच में तुझ को धन्यवाद दिया, यही कारण है कि मैं तेरे नाम की महिमा गाता हूँ।

Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.

यहोवा अपने राजा की सहायता, युद्ध में विजय पाने में करता है, योहवा अपने चुने हुये राजा से प्रेम दया करता है। वह दाऊद और उसकी सन्तान पर सदा दयालु रहेगा।

He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.
