Psalms 105

O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.

N Preiset Jehova, rufet an seinen Namen, machet kund unter den Völkern seine Taten!

Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.

Singet ihm, singet ihm Psalmen; sinnet über alle seine Wunderwerke!

Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.

Rühmet euch seines heiligen Namens! es freue sich das Herz derer, die Jehova suchen!

Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.

Trachtet nach Jehova und seiner Stärke, suchet sein Angesicht beständig!

Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

Gedenket seiner Wunderwerke, die er getan hat, seiner Wunderzeichen und der Gerichte seines Mundes!

O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.

Du Same Abrahams, seines Knechtes, ihr Söhne Jakobs, seine Auserwählten!

He is the LORD our God: his judgments are in all the earth.

Er, Jehova, ist unser Gott; seine Gerichte sind auf der ganzen Erde.

He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.

Er gedenkt ewiglich seines Bundes, des Wortes, das er geboten hat auf tausend Geschlechter hin,

Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;

Den er gemacht hat mit Abraham, und seines Eides, den er Isaak geschworen hat.

And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:

Und er stellte ihn Jakob zur Satzung, Israel zum ewigen Bunde,

Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:

Indem er sprach: Dir will ich das Land Kanaan geben als Schnur eures Erbteils;

When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.

Als sie ein zählbares Häuflein waren, gar wenige und Fremdlinge darin;

When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;

Und als sie wanderten von Nation zu Nation, von einem Reiche zu einem anderen Volke.

He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;

Er ließ keinem Menschen zu, sie zu bedrücken, und ihretwegen strafte er Könige:

Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

"Tastet meine Gesalbten nicht an, und meinen Propheten tut nichts Übles!"

Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread.

Und er rief eine Hungersnot über das Land herbei; jede Stütze des Brotes zerbrach er.

He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:

Er sandte einen Mann vor ihnen her, Joseph wurde zum Knechte verkauft.

Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron:

Man preßte seine Füße in den Stock, er kam in das Eisen.

Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him.

Bis zur Zeit, da sein Wort eintraf; das Wort Jehovas läuterte ihn.

The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free.

Der König sandte hin und ließ ihn los, der Herrscher über Völker, und befreite ihn;

He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance:

Er setzte ihn zum Herrn über sein Haus, und zum Herrscher über all sein Besitztum,

To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.

Um seine Fürsten zu fesseln nach seiner Lust, und daß er seine Ältesten Weisheit lehre.

Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.

Und Israel kam nach Ägypten, und Jakob hielt sich auf im Lande Hams.

And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.

Und er machte sein Volk sehr fruchtbar, und machte es stärker als seine Bedränger.

He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.

Er wandelte ihr Herz, sein Volk zu hassen, Arglist zu üben an seinen Knechten.

He sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen.

Er sandte Mose, seinen Knecht, Aaron, den er auserwählt hatte.

They shewed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.

Sie taten unter ihnen seine Zeichen, und Wunder im Lande Hams.

He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.

Er sandte Finsternis und machte finster; und sie waren nicht widerspenstig gegen seine Worte.

He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.

Er verwandelte ihre Wasser in Blut, und ließ sterben ihre Fische.

Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the chambers of their kings.

Es wimmelte ihr Land von Fröschen, in den Gemächern ihrer Könige.

He spake, and there came divers sorts of flies, and lice in all their coasts.

Er sprach, und es kamen Hundsfliegen, Stechmücken in alle ihre Grenzen.

He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.

Er gab ihnen Hagel als Regen, flammendes Feuer in ihrem Lande;

He smote their vines also and their fig trees; and brake the trees of their coasts.

Und er schlug ihre Weinstöcke und Feigenbäume, und zerbrach die Bäume ihres Landes.

He spake, and the locusts came, and caterpillers, and that without number,

Er sprach, und es kamen Heuschrecken und Grillen ohne Zahl;

And did eat up all the herbs in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground.

Und sie fraßen alles Kraut in ihrem Lande und fraßen die Frucht ihres Bodens.

He smote also all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.

Und er schlug alle Erstgeburt in ihrem Lande, die Erstlinge all ihrer Kraft.

He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.

Und er führte sie heraus mit Silber und Gold, und kein Strauchelnder war in seinen Stämmen.

Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.

Froh war Ägypten, daß sie auszogen; denn ihr Schrecken war auf sie gefallen.

He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.

Er breitete eine Wolke aus zur Decke, und ein Feuer, die Nacht zu erleuchten.

The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.

Sie forderten, und er ließ Wachteln kommen; und mit Himmelsbrot sättigte er sie.

He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.

Er öffnete den Felsen, und es flossen Wasser heraus; sie liefen in den dürren Örtern wie ein Strom.

For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.

Denn er gedachte seines heiligen Wortes, Abrahams, seines Knechtes;

And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:

Und er führte sein Volk heraus mit Freuden, mit Jubel seine Auserwählten.

And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;

Und er gab ihnen die Länder der Nationen, und die Mühe der Völkerschaften nahmen sie in Besitz;

That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the LORD.

Damit sie seine Satzungen beobachteten und seine Gesetze bewahrten. Lobet Jehova!
