Psalms 105

Kiittäkäät Herraa, ja saarnatkaat hänen nimeänsä, julistakaat hänen töitänsä kansain seassa!

O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.

Veisatkaat hänelle, soittakaat hänelle, puhukaat kaikista hänen ihmeistänsä.

Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.

Ylistäkäät hänen pyhää nimeänsä: niiden sydän iloitkaan, jotka etsivät Herraa!

Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.

Kysykäät Herraa ja hänen voimaansa, etsikäät alati hänen kasvojansa!

Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.

Muistakaat hänen ihmeellisiä töitänsä, jotka hän tehnyt on, hänen ihmeitänsä ja hänen sanojansa.

Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

Te Abrahamin hänen palveliansa siemen, te Jakobin hänen valittunsa lapset.

O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.

Hänpä on Herra meidän Jumalamme: hän tuomitsee kaikessa maailmassa.

He is the LORD our God: his judgments are in all the earth.

Hän muistaa liittonsa ijankaikkisesti, sanansa, jonka hän on käskenyt tuhannelle sukukunnalle,

He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.

Jonka hän teki Abrahamin kanssa, ja valansa Isaakin kanssa.

Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;

Ja pani sen Jakobille säädyksi ja Israelille ijankaikkiseksi liitoksi,

And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:

Ja sanoi: sinulle minä annan Kanaanin maan, teidän perimisenne arvan.

Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:

Koska heitä vähä ja harvat olivat, ja he olivat muukalaiset siinä,

When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.

Ja vaelsivat kansasta kansaan ja valtakunnasta toiseen kansaan:

When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;

Ei hän sallinut yhdenkään ihmisen heitä vahingoittaa, vaan rankaisi kuninkaat heidän tähtensä.

He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;

Älkäät ruvetko minun voideltuihini, ja älkäät tehkö pahaa minun prophetailleni.

Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

Ja hän kutsui nälän maan päälle, ja vei kaiken leivän varan pois.

Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread.

Hän lähetti miehen heidän eteensä: Joseph myytiin orjaksi.

He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:

He ahdistivat hänen jalkansa jalkapuuhun: hänen ruumiinsa täytyi raudoissa maata,

Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron:

Siihenasti että hänen sanansa tuli, ja Herran puhe koetteli hänen.

Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him.

Niin lähetti kuningas ja päästi hänen: kansain päämies laski hänen vallallensa,

The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free.

Ja asetti hänen huoneensa herraksi, ja kaiken tavaransa haltiaksi,

He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance:

Opettamaan päämiehiänsä oman tahtonsa jälkeen, ja vanhimmille viisautta.

To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.

Ja Israel meni Egyptiin, ja Jakob tuli muukalaiseksi Hamin maalle.

Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.

Ja hän antoi kansansa sangen suuresti kasvaa, ja teki heitä väkevämmäksi kuin heidän vihollisensa.

And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.

Hän käänsi heidän sydämensä vihaamaan hänen kansaansa, ja hänen palvelioitansa viekkaudella painamaan alas.

He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.

Hän lähetti palveliansa Moseksen, ja Aaronin, jonka hän valitsi.

He sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen.

Ne tekivät hänen merkkinsä heidän seassansa, ja hänen ihmeensä Hamin maalla.

They shewed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.

Hän antoi pimeyden tulla, ja sen pimeytti; ja ei olleet he hänen sanoillensa kuulemattomat.

He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.

Hän muutti heidän vetensä vereksi ja kuoletti heidän kalansa.

He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.

Heidän maansa kuohutti sammakoita, heidän kuningastensa kammioissa.

Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the chambers of their kings.

Hän sanoi, niin turilaat ja täit tulivat heidän maansa ääriin.

He spake, and there came divers sorts of flies, and lice in all their coasts.

Hän antoi rakeet heille sateeksi, tulen liekit heidän maallensa,

He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.

Ja löi heidän viinapuunsa ja fikunapuunsa, ja särki puut heidän maansa äärissä.

He smote their vines also and their fig trees; and brake the trees of their coasts.

Hän sanoi, niin tulivat epälukuiset paarmat ja vapsaiset,

He spake, and the locusts came, and caterpillers, and that without number,

Ja ne söivät kaiken ruohon heidän maaltansa, ja ne söivät heidän maansa hedelmän.

And did eat up all the herbs in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground.

Ja hän löi kaikki esikoiset heidän maallansa, ensimäiset kaikesta heidän voimastansa,

He smote also all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.

Ja vei heitä hopialla ja kullalla ulos: ja ei ollut heidän sukukunnissansa yksikään sairas.

He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.

Egypti iloitsi heidän lähtemisestänsä; sillä heidän pelkonsa oli tullut heidän päällensä.

Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.

Hän levitti pilven verhoksi ja tulen yötä valistamaan.

He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.

He anoivat, niin antoi hän metsäkanat tulla, ja ravitsi heitä taivaan leivällä.

The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.

Hän avasi kallion, niin vesi vuoti, ja virrat juoksivat kuivaa myöten.

He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.

Sillä hän muisti pyhän sanansa, jonka hän palveliallensa Abrahamille puhunut oli,

For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.

Ja vei kansansa ilolla ulos, ja valittunsa riemulla,

And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:

Ja antoi heille pakanain maan, niin että he kansain hyvyydet omistivat heillensä.

And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;

Että he pitäisivät hänen säätynsä, ja hänen lakinsa kätkisivät, Halleluja!

That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the LORD.
