Proverbs 3

Υιε μου, μη λησμονης τους νομους μου, και η καρδια σου ας φυλαττη τας εντολας μου.

My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

Διοτι μακροτητα ημερων και ετη ζωης και ειρηνην θελουσι προσθεσει εις σε.

For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

Ελεος και αληθεια ας μη σε εγκαταλιπωσι δεσον αυτας περι τον τραχηλον σου εγχαραξον αυτας επι την πλακα της καρδιας σου

Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

ουτω θελεις ευρει χαριν και ευνοιαν ενωπιον Θεου και ανθρωπων.

So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

Ελπιζε επι Κυριον εξ ολης σου της καρδιας, και μη επιστηριζεσαι εις την συνεσιν σου

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

εν πασαις ταις οδοις σου αυτον γνωριζε, και αυτος θελει διευθυνει τα διαβηματα σου.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Μη φανταζεσαι σεαυτον σοφον φοβου τον Κυριον και εκκλινον απο κακου.

Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

Τουτο θελει εισθαι ιασις εις τα νευρα σου και μυελωσις εις τα οστα σου.

It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Τιμα τον Κυριον απο των υπαρχοντων σου και απο των απαρχων παντων των γεννηματων σου

Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

και θελουσιν εμπλησθη αι σιτοθηκαι σου απο αφθονιας και οι ληνοι σου θελουσιν εκχειλιζει απο νεου οινου.

So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

Υιε μου, μη καταφρονει την παιδειαν του Κυριου και μη αθυμει ελεγχομενος υπ αυτου.

My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:

Διοτι ο Κυριος ελεγχει οντινα αγαπα, καθως και ο πατηρ τον υιον, εις τον οποιον ευαρεστειται.

For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Μακαριος ο ανθρωπος, οστις ευρηκε σοφιαν, και ο ανθρωπος, οστις απεκτησε συνεσιν

Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

Διοτι το εμποριον αυτης ειναι καλητερον παρα το εμποριον του αργυριου και το κερδος αυτης παρα χρυσιον καθαρον.

For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.

Ειναι τιμιωτερα πολυτιμων λιθων και παντα οσα επιθυμησης δεν ειναι ανταξια αυτης.

She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

Μακροτης ημερων ειναι εν τη δεξια αυτης εν τη αριστερα αυτης, πλουτος και δοξα.

Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.

Αι οδοι αυτης ειναι οδοι τερπναι και πασαι αι τριβοι αυτης ειρηνη.

Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.

Ειναι δενδρον ζωης εις τους εναγκαλιζομενους αυτην και μακαριοι οι κρατουντες αυτην.

She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

Δια της σοφιας εθεμελιωσεν ο Κυριος, εστερεωσε τους ουρανους εν συνεσει.

The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.

Δια της γνωσεως αυτου αι αβυσσοι ηνοιχθησαν και τα νεφη σταλαζουσι δροσον.

By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.

Υιε μου, ας μη απομακρυνθωσι ταυτα απο των οφθαλμων σου φυλαττε ορθην βουλην και φρονησιν

My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:

και θελει εισθαι ζωη εις την ψυχην σου και χαρις εις τον τραχηλον σου.

So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.

Τοτε θελεις περιπατει ασφαλως την οδον σου, και ο πους σου δεν θελει προσκοψει.

Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.

Οταν πλαγιαζης, δεν θελεις τρομαζει μαλιστα θελεις πλαγιαζει, και ο υπνος σου θελει εισθαι γλυκυς.

When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.

Δεν θελεις τρομαξει απο αιφνιδιου φοβου ουδε απο του ολεθρου των ασεβων, οταν επελθη

Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.

Διοτι ο Κυριος θελει εισθαι η ελπις σου, και θελει φυλαξει τον ποδα σου απο του να πιασθη.

For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

Μη αρνηθης το καλον προς εκεινους, εις τους οποιους πρεπει, οταν ηναι εν τη χειρι σου να καμνης αυτο.

Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.

Μη ειπης προς τον πλησιον σου, Υπαγε και επαναστρεψον και αυριον θελω σοι δωσει ενω εχεις τουτο παρα σεαυτω.

Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.

Μη μηχανευου κακον κατα του πλησιον σου, ενω πεποιθως κατοικει μετα σου.

Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.

Μη μαχου τινα αναιτιως, εαν δεν εκαμε κακον εις σε.

Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.

Μη ζηλευε τον βιαιον ανθρωπον και μη εκλεξης μηδεμιαν εκ των οδων αυτου

Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.

διοτι ο Κυριος βδελυττεται τον σκολιον το δε απορρητον αυτου φανερονεται εις τους δικαιους.

For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.

Καταρα Κυριου εν τω οικω του ασεβους ευλογει δε την κατοικιαν των δικαιων.

The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.

Βεβαιως αυτος αντιταττεται εις τους υπερηφανους εις δε τους ταπεινους διδει χαριν.

Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.

Οι σοφοι θελουσι κληρονομησει δοξαν το δε υψος των αφρονων θελει εισθαι η ατιμια.

The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.
