Job 41

“अय्यूब, बता, क्या तू लिब्यातान (सागर के दैत्य) को किसी मछली के काँटे से पकड़ सकता है?

Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?

अय्यूब, क्या तू लिब्यातान की नाक में नकेल डाल सकता है? अथवा उसके जबड़ों में काँटा फँसा सकता है?

Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn?

अय्यूब, क्या लिब्यातान आजाद होने के लिये तुझसे विनती करेगा क्या वह तुझसे मधुर बातें करेगा?

Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee?

अय्यूब, क्या लिब्यातान तुझसे सन्धि करेगा, और सदा तेरी सेवा का तुझे वचन देगा?

Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever?

अय्यूब, क्या तू लिब्यातान से वैसे ही खेलेगा जैसे तू किसी चिड़ियाँ से खेलता है? क्या तू उसे रस्से से बांधेगा जिससे तेरी दासियाँ उससे खेल सकें?

Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens?

अय्यूब, क्या मछुवारे लिब्यातान को तुझसे खरीदने का प्रयास करेंगे? क्या वे उसको काटेंगे और उन्हें व्यापारियों के हाथ बेच सकेंगे?

Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall they part him among the merchants?

अय्यूब, क्या तू लिब्यातान की खाल में और माथे पर भाले फेंक सकता है?

Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons? or his head with fish spears?

“अय्यूब, लिब्यातान पर यदि तू हाथ डाले तो जो भयंकर युद्ध होगा, तू कभी भी भूल नहीं पायेगा, और फिर तू उससे कभी युद्ध न करेगा।

Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more.

और यदि तू सोचता है कि तू लिब्यातान को हरा देगा तो इस बात को तू भूल जा। क्योंकि इसकी कोई आशा नहीं है। तू तो बस उसे देखने भर से ही डर जायेगा।

Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him?

कोई भी इतना वीर नहीं है, जो लिब्यातान को जगा कर भड़काये। तो फिर अय्यूब बता, मेरे विरोध में कौन टिक सकता है?

None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me?

मुझ को (परमेश्वर को) किसी भी व्यक्ति कुछ नहीं देना है। सारे आकाश के नीचे जो कुछ भी है, वह सब कुछ मेरा ही है।

Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine.

अय्यूब, मैं तुझको लिब्यातान के पैरों के विषय में बताऊँगा। मैं उसकी शक्ति और उसके रूप की शोभा के बारे में बताऊँगा।

I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion.

कोई भी व्यक्ति उसकी खाल को भेद नहीं सकता। उसकी खाल दुहरा कवच के समान हैं।

Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle?

लिब्यातान को कोई भी व्यक्ति मुख खोलने के लिये विवश नहीं कर सकता है। उसके जबड़े के दाँत सभी को भयभीत करते हैं।

Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible round about.

लिब्यातान की पीठ पर ढालों की पंक्तियाँ होती है, जो आपस में कड़ी छाप से जुड़े होते हैं।

His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal.

ये ढ़ाले आपस में इतनी सटी होती हैं कि हवा तक उनमें प्रवेश नहीं कर पाती है।

One is so near to another, that no air can come between them.

ये ढाले एक दूसरे से जुड़ी होती हैं। वे इतनी मजबूती से एक दूसरे से जुडी हुई है कि कोई भी उनको उखाड़ कर अलग नहीं कर सकता।

They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered.

लिब्यातान जब छींका करता है तो ऐसा लगता है जैसे बिजली सी कौंध गई हो। आँखे उसकी ऐसी चमकती है जैसे कोई तीव्र प्रकाश हो।

By his neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.

उसके मुख से जलती हुई मशालें निकलती है और उससे आग की चिंगारियाँ बिखरती हैं।

Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out.

लिब्यातान के नथुनों से धुआँ ऐसा निकलता है, जैसे उबलती हुई हाँडी से भाप निकलता हो।

Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron.

लिब्यातान की फूँक से कोपले सुलग उठते हैं और उसके मुख से डर कर दूर भाग जाया करते हैं।

His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth.

लिब्यातान की शक्ति उसके गर्दन में रहती हैं, और लोग उससे डर कर दूर भाग जाया करते हैं।

In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him.

उसकी खाल में कही भी कोमल जगह नहीं है। वह धातु की तरह कठोर हैं।

The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are firm in themselves; they cannot be moved.

लिब्यातान का हृदय चट्टान की तरह होता है, उसको भय नहीं है। वह चक्की के नीचे के पाट सा सुदृढ़ है।

His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone.

लिब्यातान जागता है, बली लोग डर जाते हैं। लिब्यातान जब पूँछ फटकारता है, तो वे लोग भाग जाते हैं।

When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves.

लिब्यातान पर जैसे ही भाले, तीर और तलवार पड़ते है वे उछल कर दूर हो जाते है।

The sword of him that layeth at him cannot hold: the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon.

लोहे की मोटी छड़े वह तिनसे सा और काँसे को सड़ी लकड़ी सा तोड़ देता है।

He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood.

बाण लिब्यातान को नहीं भगा पाते हैं, उस पर फेंकी गई चट्टाने सूखे तिनके की भाँति हैं।

The arrow cannot make him flee: slingstones are turned with him into stubble.

लिब्यातान पर जब मुगदर पड़ता है तो उसे ऐसा लगता है मानों वह कोई तिनका हो। जब लोग उस पर भाले फेंकते हैं, तब वह हँसा करता है।

Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the shaking of a spear.

लिब्यातान की देह के नीचे की खाल टूटे हुऐ बर्तन के कठोर व पैने टुकड़े सा है। वह जब चलता है तो कीचड़ में ऐसे छोड़ता है। मानों खलिहान में पाटा लगाया गया हो।

Sharp stones are under him: he spreadeth sharp pointed things upon the mire.

लिब्यातान पानी को यूँ मथता है, मानों कोई हँड़ियाँ उबलती हो। वह ऐसे बुलबुले बनाता है मानों पात्र में उबलता हुआ तेल हो।

He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment.

लिब्यातान जब सागर में तैरता है तो अपने पीछे वह सफेद झागों जैसी राह छोड़ता है, जैसे कोई श्वेत बालों की विशाल पूँछ हो।

He maketh a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be hoary.

लिब्यातान सा कोई और जन्तु धरती पर नहीं है। वह ऐसा पशु है जिसे निर्भय बनाया गया।

Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear.

वह अत्याधिक गर्वीले पशुओं तक को घृणा से देखता है। सभी जंगली पशुओं का वह राजा हैं। मैंने (यहोवा) लिब्यातान को बनाया है।”

He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.
