Psalms 106

رب کی حمد ہو! رب کا شکر کرو، کیونکہ وہ بھلا ہے، اور اُس کی شفقت ابدی ہے۔

Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

کون رب کے تمام عظیم کام سنا سکتا، کون اُس کی مناسب تمجید کر سکتا ہے؟

Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? who can shew forth all his praise?

مبارک ہیں وہ جو انصاف قائم رکھتے، جو ہر وقت راست کام کرتے ہیں۔

Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.

اے رب، اپنی قوم پر مہربانی کرتے وقت میرا خیال رکھ، نجات دیتے وقت میری بھی مدد کر

Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;

تاکہ مَیں تیرے چنے ہوئے لوگوں کی خوش حالی دیکھ سکوں اور تیری قوم کی خوشی میں شریک ہو کر تیری میراث کے ساتھ ستائش کر سکوں۔

That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.

ہم نے اپنے باپ دادا کی طرح گناہ کیا ہے، ہم سے ناانصافی اور بےدینی سرزد ہوئی ہے۔

We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.

جب ہمارے باپ دادا مصر میں تھے تو اُنہیں تیرے معجزوں کی سمجھ نہ آئی اور تیری متعدد مہربانیاں یاد نہ رہیں بلکہ وہ سمندر یعنی بحرِ قُلزم پر سرکش ہوئے۔

Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.

توبھی اُس نے اُنہیں اپنے نام کی خاطر بچایا، کیونکہ وہ اپنی قدرت کا اظہار کرنا چاہتا تھا۔

Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.

اُس نے بحرِ قُلزم کو جھڑکا تو وہ خشک ہو گیا۔ اُس نے اُنہیں سمندر کی گہرائیوں میں سے یوں گزرنے دیا جس طرح ریگستان میں سے۔

He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.

اُس نے اُنہیں نفرت کرنے والے کے ہاتھ سے چھڑایا اور عوضانہ دے کر دشمن کے ہاتھ سے رِہا کیا۔

And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

اُن کے مخالف پانی میں ڈوب گئے۔ ایک بھی نہ بچا۔

And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.

تب اُنہوں نے اللہ کے فرمانوں پر ایمان لا کر اُس کی مدح سرائی کی۔

Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.

لیکن جلد ہی وہ اُس کے کام بھول گئے۔ وہ اُس کی مرضی کا انتظار کرنے کے لئے تیار نہ تھے۔

They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:

ریگستان میں شدید لالچ میں آ کر اُنہوں نے وہیں بیابان میں اللہ کو آزمایا۔

But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.

تب اُس نے اُن کی درخواست پوری کی، لیکن ساتھ ساتھ مہلک وبا بھی اُن میں پھیلا دی۔

And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.

خیمہ گاہ میں وہ موسیٰ اور رب کے مُقدّس امام ہارون سے حسد کرنے لگے۔

They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the LORD.

تب زمین کھل گئی، اور اُس نے داتن کو ہڑپ کر لیا، ابیرام کے جتھے کو اپنے اندر دفن کر لیا۔

The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.

آگ اُن کے جتھے میں بھڑک اُٹھی، اور بےدین نذرِ آتش ہوئے۔

And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.

وہ کوہِ حورب یعنی سینا کے دامن میں بچھڑے کا بُت ڈھال کر اُس کے سامنے اوندھے منہ ہو گئے۔

They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.

اُنہوں نے اللہ کو جلال دینے کے بجائے گھاس کھانے والے بَیل کی پوجا کی۔

Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.

وہ اللہ کو بھول گئے، حالانکہ اُسی نے اُنہیں چھڑایا تھا، اُسی نے مصر میں عظیم کام کئے تھے۔

They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;

جو معجزے حام کے ملک میں ہوئے اور جو جلالی واقعات بحرِ قُلزم پر پیش آئے تھے وہ سب اللہ کے ہاتھ سے ہوئے تھے۔

Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea.

چنانچہ اللہ نے فرمایا کہ مَیں اُنہیں نیست و نابود کروں گا۔ لیکن اُس کا چنا ہوا خادم موسیٰ رخنے میں کھڑا ہو گیا تاکہ اُس کے غضب کو اسرائیلیوں کو مٹانے سے روکے۔ صرف اِس وجہ سے اللہ اپنے ارادے سے باز آیا۔

Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.

پھر اُنہوں نے کنعان کے خوش گوار ملک کو حقیر جانا۔ اُنہیں یقین نہیں تھا کہ اللہ اپنا وعدہ پورا کرے گا۔

Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word:

وہ اپنے خیموں میں بڑبڑانے لگے اور رب کی آواز سننے کے لئے تیار نہ ہوئے۔

But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD.

تب اُس نے اپنا ہاتھ اُن کے خلاف اُٹھایا تاکہ اُنہیں وہیں ریگستان میں ہلاک کرے

Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:

اور اُن کی اولاد کو دیگر اقوام میں پھینک کر مختلف ممالک میں منتشر کر دے۔

To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.

وہ بعل فغور دیوتا سے لپٹ گئے اور مُردوں کے لئے پیش کی گئی قربانیوں کا گوشت کھانے لگے۔

They joined themselves also unto Baal–peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.

اُنہوں نے اپنی حرکتوں سے رب کو طیش دلایا تو اُن میں مہلک بیماری پھیل گئی۔

Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them.

لیکن فینحاس نے اُٹھ کر اُن کی عدالت کی۔ تب وبا رُک گئی۔

Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed.

اِسی بنا پر اللہ نے اُسے پشت در پشت اور ابد تک راست باز قرار دیا۔

And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.

مریبہ کے چشمے پر بھی اُنہوں نے رب کو غصہ دلایا۔ اُن ہی کے باعث موسیٰ کا بُرا حال ہوا۔

They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:

کیونکہ اُنہوں نے اُس کے دل میں اِتنی تلخی پیدا کی کہ اُس کے منہ سے بےجا باتیں نکلیں۔

Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.

جو دیگر قومیں ملک میں تھیں اُنہیں اُنہوں نے نیست نہ کیا، حالانکہ رب نے اُنہیں یہ کرنے کو کہا تھا۔

They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:

نہ صرف یہ بلکہ وہ غیرقوموں سے رشتہ باندھ کر اُن میں گھل مل گئے اور اُن کے رسم و رواج اپنا لئے۔

But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.

وہ اُن کے بُتوں کی پوجا کرنے میں لگ گئے، اور یہ اُن کے لئے پھندے کا باعث بن گئے۔

And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.

وہ اپنے بیٹے بیٹیوں کو بدروحوں کے حضور قربان کرنے سے بھی نہ کترائے۔

Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,

ہاں، اُنہوں نے اپنے بیٹے بیٹیوں کو کنعان کے دیوتاؤں کے حضور پیش کر کے اُن کا معصوم خون بہایا۔ اِس سے ملک کی بےحرمتی ہوئی۔

And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.

وہ اپنی غلط حرکتوں سے ناپاک اور اپنے زناکارانہ کاموں سے اللہ سے بےوفا ہوئے۔

Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.

تب اللہ اپنی قوم سے سخت ناراض ہوا، اور اُسے اپنی موروثی ملکیت سے گھن آنے لگی۔

Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.

اُس نے اُنہیں دیگر قوموں کے حوالے کیا، اور جو اُن سے نفرت کرتے تھے وہ اُن پر حکومت کرنے لگے۔

And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.

اُن کے دشمنوں نے اُن پر ظلم کر کے اُن کو اپنا مطیع بنا لیا۔

Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.

اللہ بار بار اُنہیں چھڑاتا رہا، حالانکہ وہ اپنے سرکش منصوبوں پر تُلے رہے اور اپنے قصور میں ڈوبتے گئے۔

Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.

لیکن اُس نے مدد کے لئے اُن کی آہیں سن کر اُن کی مصیبت پر دھیان دیا۔

Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:

اُس نے اُن کے ساتھ اپنا عہد یاد کیا، اور وہ اپنی بڑی شفقت کے باعث پچھتایا۔

And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.

اُس نے ہونے دیا کہ جس نے بھی اُنہیں گرفتار کیا اُس نے اُن پر ترس کھایا۔

He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.

اے رب ہمارے خدا، ہمیں بچا! ہمیں دیگر قوموں سے نکال کر جمع کر۔ تب ہی ہم تیرے مُقدّس نام کی ستائش کریں گے اور تیرے قابلِ تعریف کاموں پر فخر کریں گے۔

Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.

ازل سے ابد تک رب، اسرائیل کے خدا کی حمد ہو۔ تمام قوم کہے، ”آمین! رب کی حمد ہو!“

Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD.
