Psalms 73

Tanrı gerçekten İsrail’e, Yüreği temiz olanlara karşı iyidir.

Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.

Ama benim ayaklarım neredeyse tökezlemiş, Adımlarım az kalsın kaymıştı.

But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.

Çünkü kötülerin gönencini gördükçe, Küstahları kıskanıyordum.

For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

Onlar acı nedir bilmezler, Bedenleri sağlıklı ve semizdir.

For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm.

Başkalarının derdini bilmez, Onlar gibi çile çekmezler.

They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.

Bu yüzden gurur onların gerdanlığı, Zorbalık onları örten bir giysi gibidir.

Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.

Şişmanlıktan gözleri dışarı fırlar, İçleri kötülük kazanı gibi kaynar.

Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.

İnsanlarla eğlenir, kötü niyetle konuşur, Tepeden bakar, baskıyla tehdit ederler.

They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.

Göklere karşı ağızlarını açarlar, Boş sözleri yeryüzünü dolaşır.

They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.

Bu yüzden halk onlardan yana döner, Sözlerini ağzı açık dinler.

Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.

Derler ki, “Tanrı nasıl bilir? Bilgisi var mı Yüceler Yücesi’nin?”

And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?

İşte böyledir kötüler, Hep tasasız, sürekli varlıklarını artırırlar.

Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.

Anlaşılan boş yere yüreğimi temiz tutmuşum, Ellerimi yıkamışım suçsuzum diye.

Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency.

Gün boyu içim içimi yiyor, Her sabah azap çekiyorum.

For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.

“Ben de onlar gibi konuşayım” deseydim, Senin çocuklarına ihanet etmiş olurdum.

If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children.

Bunu anlamak için düşündüğümde, Zor geldi bana,

When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me;

Tanrı’nın Tapınağı’na girene dek; O zaman anladım sonlarının ne olacağını.

Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.

Gerçekten onları kaygan yere koyuyor, Yıkıma sürüklüyorsun.

Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.

Nasıl da bir anda yok oluyor, Siliniveriyorlar dehşet içinde!

How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.

Uyanan birisi için rüya nasılsa, Sen de uyanınca, ya Rab, Hor göreceksin onların görüntüsünü.

As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.

Kalbim kırıldığında, İçim acı dolduğunda,

Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.

Akılsız ve bilgisizdim, Karşında bir hayvan gibi.

So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee.

Yine de sürekli seninleyim, Sağ elimden tutarsın beni.

Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.

Öğütlerinle yol gösterir, Beni sonunda yüceliğe eriştirirsin.

Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

Senden başka kimim var göklerde? İstemem senden başkasını yeryüzünde.

Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.

Bedenim ve yüreğim tükenebilir, Ama Tanrı yüreğimde güç, Bana düşen paydır sonsuza dek.

My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

Kuşkusuz yok olacak senden uzak duranlar, Ortadan kaldıracaksın sana vefasızlık edenleri.

For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.

Ama benim için en iyisi Tanrı’ya yakın olmaktır; Bütün işlerini duyurayım diye Sığınak yaptım Egemen RAB’bi kendime.

But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.
