Psalms 107

O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Дякуйте Господу, добрий бо Він, бо навіки Його милосердя!

Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

хай так скажуть ті всі, що Господь урятував їх, що визволив їх з руки ворога,

And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.

і з країв їх зібрав, від сходу й заходу, від півночі й моря!

They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.

Блудили вони по пустині дорогою голою, осілого міста не знаходили,

Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

голодні та спрагнені, і в них їхня душа омлівала...

Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.

і в недолі своїй вони Господа кликали, і Він визволяв їх від утисків їхніх!

And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

і Він їх попровадив дорогою простою, щоб до міста осілого йшли.

Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Нехай же подяку складуть Господеві за милість Його, та за чуда Його синам людським,

For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

бо наситив Він спрагнену душу, а душу голодну наповнив добром!

Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;

Ті, хто перебував був у темряві та в смертній тіні, то в'язні біди та заліза,

Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:

бо вони спротивлялися Божим словам, і відкинули раду Всевишнього.

Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.

Та Він упокорив їхнє серце терпінням, спіткнулись вони і ніхто не поміг,

Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.

і в недолі своїй вони Господа кликали, і Він визволяв їх від утисків їхніх!

He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.

і Він вивів їх з темряви й мороку, їхні ж кайдани сторощив.

Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Нехай же подяку складуть Господеві за милість Його, та за чуда Його синам людським,

For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.

бо Він поламав мідні двері, і засуви залізні зрубав!

Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

Нерозумні страждали за грішну дорогу свою й за свої беззаконня.

Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.

Душа їхня від усякої їжі відверталася, і дійшли вони аж до брам смерти,

Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses.

і в недолі своїй вони Господа кликали, і Він визволяв їх від утисків їхніх,

He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

Він послав Своє слово та їх уздоровив, і їх урятував з їхньої хвороби!

Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Нехай же подяку складуть Господеві за милість Його та за чуда Його синам людським,

And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.

і хай жертви подяки приносять, і хай розповідають зо співом про чини Його!

They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;

Ті, хто по морю пливе кораблями, хто чинить зайняття своє на великій воді,

These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.

вони бачили чини Господні та чуда Його в глибині!

For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.

Він скаже і буря зривається, і підносяться хвилі Його,

They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.

до неба вони підіймаються, до безодні спадають, у небезпеці душа їхня хвилюється!

They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits' end.

Вони крутяться й ходять вперед та назад, як п'яний, і вся їхня мудрість бентежиться!

Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.

Та в недолі своїй вони Господа кликали, і Він визволяв їх від утисків їхніх!

He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

Він змінює бурю на тишу, і стихають їхні хвилі,

Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

і раділи, що втихли вони, і Він їх привів до бажаної пристані.

Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Нехай же подяку складуть Господеві за милість, та за чуда Його синам людським!

Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.

Нехай величають Його на народньому зборі, і нехай вихваляють Його на засіданні старших!

He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground;

Він обертає річки в пустиню, а водні джерела на суходіл,

A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

плодючу землю на солончак через злобу мешканців її.

He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.

Він пустиню обертає в водне болото, а землю суху в джерело,

And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;

і голодних садовить Він там, а вони ставлять місто на мешкання,

And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.

і поля засівають, і виноградники садять, і отримують плід урожаю!

He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

і благословляє Він їх, і сильно розмножуються, і одержують плід урожаю!

Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.

Та змаліли вони й похилилися з утиску злого та з смутку.

He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.

Виливає Він ганьбу на можних, і блудять вони без дороги в пустині,

Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.

а вбогого Він підіймає з убозтва, і розмножує роди, немов ту отару.

The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

Це бачать правдиві й радіють, і закриває уста свої всяке безправ'я.

Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.

Хто мудрий, той все це завважить, і познають вони милосердя Господнє!
