Proverbs 15

A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
Mildt svar stiller vrede, sårende ord vækker nag.
The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
Vises Tunge drypper af Kundskab, Dårskab strømmer fra Tåbers Mund.
The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.
Alle Vegne er HERRENs Øjne, de udspejder onde og gode.
A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.
Et Livets Træ er Tungens Mildhed, dens Falskhed giver Hjertesår.
A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.
Dåre lader hånt om sin Faders Tugt, klog er den, som tager Vare på Revselse.
In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
Den retfærdiges Hus har megen Velstand, den gudløses Høst lægges øde.
The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.
Vises Læber udstrør Kundskab, Tåbers Hjerte er ikke ret.
The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
Gudløses Offer er HERREN en Gru, retsindiges Bøn har han Velbehag i.
The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.
Den gudløses Færd er HERREN en Gru, han elsker den, der stræber efter Retfærd.
Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.
Streng Tugt er for den, der forlader Vejen; den, der hader Revselse, dør.
Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?
Dødsrige og Afgrund ligger åbne for HERREN, endsige da Menneskebørnenes Hjerter.
A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.
Spotteren ynder ikke at revses, til Vismænd går han ikke.
A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
Glad Hjerte giver venligt Ansigt, ved Hjertesorg bliver Modet brudt.

All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.

A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.
Vredladen Mand vækker Splid, sindig Mand stiller Trætte.
The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.
Den lades Vej er spærret af Tjørn, de flittiges Sti er banet.
A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
Viis Søn glæder sin Fader, Tåbe til Menneske foragter sin Moder.
Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.
Dårskab er Glæde for Mand uden Vid, Mand med Indsigt går lige frem.
Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.
Er der ikke holdt Råd, så mislykkes Planer, de lykkes, når mange rådslår.
A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!
Mand er glad, når hans Mund kan svare, hvor godt er et Ord i rette Tid.
The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.
Den kloge går opad på Livets Vej for at undgå Dødsriget nedentil.
The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.
Hovmodiges Hus river HERREN bort, han fastsætter Enkens Skel.
The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.
Onde Tanker er HERREN en Gru, men hulde Ord er rene.
He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.
Den øder sit Hus, hvem Vinding er alt; men leve skal den, der hader Gave.
The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.
Den retfærdiges Hjerte tænker, før det svarer, gudløses Mund lader ondt strømme ud.
The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.
HERREN er gudløse fjern, men hører retfærdiges Bøn.
The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat.
Milde Øjne fryder Hjertet, godt Bud giver Marv i Benene.
The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.
Øret, der lytter til Livsens Revselse, vil gerne dvæle iblandt de vise.
He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.
Hvo Tugt forsmår, lader hånt om sin Sjæl, men Vid fanger den, der lytter til Revselse.
The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
HERRENs Frygt er Tugt til Visdom, Ydmyghed først og siden Ære.
