Proverbs 15

A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

Yumuşak yanıt gazabı yatıştırır, Oysa yaralayıcı söz öfkeyi alevlendirir.

The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

Bilgenin dili bilgiyi iyi kullanır, Akılsızın ağzındansa ahmaklık akar.

The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

RAB’bin gözü her yerde olanı görür, Kötüleri de iyileri de gözler.

A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.

Okşayıcı dil yaşam verir, Çarpık dilse ruhu yaralar.

A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.

Ahmak babasının uyarılarını küçümser, İhtiyatlı kişi azara kulak verir.

In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.

Doğru kişinin evi büyük hazine gibidir, Kötünün geliriyse sıkıntı kaynağıdır.

The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.

Bilgelerin dudakları bilgi yayar, Ama akılsızların yüreği öyle değildir.

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

RAB kötülerin kurbanından iğrenir, Ama doğruların duası O’nu hoşnut eder.

The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.

RAB kötü kişinin yolundan iğrenir, Doğruluğun ardından gideni sever.

Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.

Yoldan sapan şiddetle cezalandırılır Ve azarlanmaktan nefret eden ölüme gider.

Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?

RAB, ölüm ve yıkım diyarında olup biteni bilir, Nerde kaldı ki insanın yüreği!

A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.

Alaycı kişi azarlanmaktan hoşlanmaz, Bilgelere gidip danışmaz.

A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

Mutlu yürek yüzü neşelendirir, Acılı yürek ruhu ezer.

The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.

Akıllı yürek bilgi arar, Akılsızın ağzıysa ahmaklıkla beslenir.

All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.

Mazlumun bütün günleri sıkıntı doludur, Mutlu bir yürekse sahibine sürekli ziyafettir.

Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.

Yoksul olup RAB’den korkmak, Zengin olup kaygı içinde yaşamaktan yeğdir.

Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.

Sevgi dolu bir ortamdaki sebze yemeği, Nefret dolu bir ortamdaki besili danadan yeğdir.

A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.

Huysuz kişi çekişme yaratır, Sabırlı kişi kavgayı yatıştırır.

The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.

Tembelin yolu dikenli çit gibidir, Doğrunun yoluysa ana caddeye benzer.

A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.

Bilge çocuk babasını sevindirir, Akılsız çocuksa annesini küçümser.

Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.

Sağduyudan yoksun kişi ahmaklığıyla sevinir, Ama akıllı insan dürüst bir yaşam sürer.

Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.

Karşılıklı danışılmazsa tasarılar boşa çıkar, Danışmanların çokluğuyla başarıya ulaşılır.

A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!

Uygun yanıt sahibini mutlu eder, Yerinde söylenen söz ne güzeldir!

The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.

Sağduyulu kişi yukarıya, yaşama giden yoldadır, Bu da ölüler diyarına inmesini önler.

The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.

RAB kibirlinin evini yıkar, Dul kadının sınırını korur.

The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.

RAB kötünün tasarılarından iğrenir, Temiz düşüncelerden hoşnut kalır.

He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.

Kazanca düşkün kişi kendi evine sıkıntı verir, Rüşvetten nefret edense rahat yaşar.

The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.

Doğru kişinin aklı yanıtını iyi tartar, Kötünün ağzı kötülük saçar.

The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

RAB kötülerden uzak durur, Oysa doğruların duasını duyar.

The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat.

Gülen gözler yüreği sevindirir, İyi haber bedeni ferahlatır.

The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.

Yaşam veren uyarıları dinleyen, Bilgeler arasında konaklar.

He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.

Terbiyeden kaçan kendine zarar verir, Azara kulak verense sağduyu kazanır.

The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
