Proverbs 15

15:1
A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
 Ett mjukt svar stillar vrede,  men ett hårt ord kommer harm åstad.1 Sam. 25,23 f. Ords. 25,15.
15:2
The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
 De visas tunga meddelar god kunskap,  men dårars mun flödar över av oförnuft.Ords. 13,16.
15:3
The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.
 HERRENS ögon äro överallt;  de giva akt på både onda och goda.Job 31,4. 34,21 f. Ords. 5,21.
15:4
A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.
 En saktmodig tunga är ett livets träd,  men en vrång tunga giver hjärtesår.
15:5
A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.
 Den oförnuftige föraktar sin faders tuktan,  men den som tager vara på tillrättavisning, han varder klok.Ords. 12,1. 13,1,18.
15:6
In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
 Den rättfärdiges hus gömmer stor rikedom,  men i de ogudaktigas vinning är olycka.Ords. 3,33.
15:7
The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.
 De visas läppar strö ut kunskap,  men dårars hjärtan äro icke såsom sig bör.
15:8
The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
 De ogudaktigas offer är en styggelse för HERREN,  men de redligas bön behagar honom väl.Ords. 21,27. Jes. 1,11. Syr. 34,21 f.
15:9
The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.
 En styggelse för HERREN är den ogudaktiges väg,  men den som far efter rättfärdighet, honom älskar han.Ords. 11,20.
15:10
Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.
 Svår tuktan drabbar den som övergiver vägen;  den som hatar tillrättavisning, han måste dö.
15:11
Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?
 Dödsriket och avgrunden ligga uppenbara inför HERREN;  huru mycket mer då människornas hjärtan!Job 26.6. Hebr. 4,13.
15:12
A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.
 Bespottaren finner ej behag i tillrättavisning;  till dem som äro visa går han icke.Ords. 9,7 f.
15:13
A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
 Ett glatt hjärta gör ansiktet ljust,  men vid hjärtesorg är modet brutet.Ords. 17,22. 18,14.
15:14
The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.
 Den förståndiges hjärta söker kunskap,  men dårars mun far med oförnuft.
15:15
All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.
 Den betryckte har aldrig en glad dag,  men ett gott mod är ett ständigt gästabud.
15:16
Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.
 Bättre är något litet med HERRENS fruktan  än en stor skatt med oro.Ps. 37,16. 39,7. Ords. 16,8. 17,1. Pred. 4,6. 5,11.
15:17
Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.
 Bättre är ett fat kål med kärlek  än en gödd oxe med hat.Ords. 17,1.
15:18
A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.
 En snarsticken man uppväcker träta,  men en tålmodig man stillar kiv.Ords. 10,12. 26,21. 29,22.
15:19
The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.
 Den lates stig är såsom iad av törne,  men de redliga hava en banad stig.
15:20
A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
 En vis son gör sin fader glädje,  och en dåraktig människa är den som föraktar sin moder.Ords. 10,1. 17,21, 25. 19,13. 29,3.
15:21
Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.
 I oförnuft har den vettlöse sin glädje,  men en förståndig man går sin väg rätt fram.Ords 10,23.
15:22
Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.
 Där rådplägning fattas varda planerna om intet,  men beståndande bliva de, där de rådvisa äro många.Ords 11,14. 24,6.
15:23
A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!
 En man gläder sig, när hans mun kan giva svar;  ja, ett ord i sinom tid, det är gott.Ords. 25,11.
15:24
The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.
 Den förståndige vandrar livets väg uppåt,  Då att han undviker dödsriket därnere.
15:25
The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.
 Den högmodiges hus rycker HERREN bort,  men änkans råmärke låter han stå fast.Luk. 1,51 f. 1 Petr. 5,6.
15:26
The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.
 För HERREN äro ondskans anslag en styggelse,  men milda ord rena.
15:27
He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.
 Den som söker orätt vinning drager olycka över sitt hus,  men den som hatar mutor, han får leva.Pred. 7,8. Hab. 2,9.
15:28
The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.
 Den rättfärdiges hjärta betänker vad svaras bör,  men de ogudaktigas mun flödar över av onda ord.
15:29
The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.
 HERREN är fjärran ifrån de ogudaktiga,  men de rättfärdigas bön hör han.Joh. 9,31.
15:30
The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat.
 En mild blick gör hjärtat glatt,  ett gott budskap giver märg åt benen.
15:31
The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.
 Den vilkens öra hör på hälsosam tillrättavisning,  han skall få dväljas i de vises krets.
15:32
He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.
 Den som ej vill veta av tuktan frågar icke efter sitt liv,  men den som hör på tillrättavisning, han förvärvar förstånd.Job 9,21. Ords. 8,35 f.
15:33
The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
 HERRENS fruktan är en tuktan till vishet,  och ödmjukhet går före ära.Ords. 16,18. 18,12. 22,4. 29,23. Apg. 14,22. 1 Petr. 1,6.
