Proverbs 6

My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, if thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger,

Сине мой, ако си станал поръчител за ближния си, или си дал гаранция за някой чужд,

Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.

впримчил си се с думите на устата си, уловил си се с думите на устата си,

Do this now, my son, and deliver thyself, when thou art come into the hand of thy friend; go, humble thyself, and make sure thy friend.

тогава, сине мой, направи това и се избави, тъй като си паднал в ръката на ближния си — иди, втурни се и настоявай пред ближния си,

Give not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids.

не давай сън на очите си, нито дрямка на клепачите си,

Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler.

избави се като сърна от ръката на ловеца и като птица от ръката на птицеловеца.

Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:

Иди при мравката, ленивецо, виж пътищата й и стани мъдър.

Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,

Тя, без да има началник, надзирател или управител,

Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.

приготвя хляба си през лятото, събира храната си в жетва.

How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?

Докога ще лежиш, ленивецо? Кога ще станеш от съня си?

Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:

Малко спане, малко дрямка, малко сгъване на ръце за сън,

So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.

и беднотията ти ще дойде като разбойник и нуждата ти — като въоръжен мъж.

A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth.

Негоден човек, нечестив човек е онзи, който ходи с лъжлива уста,

He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers;

намига с очите си, дава знаци с краката си, сочи с пръстите си.

Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord.

Измами са в сърцето му, крои зло по всяко време, сее раздори,

Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.

затова гибелта му ще дойде внезапно, изведнъж ще се съкруши, и то без изцеление.

These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

Шест неща мрази ГОСПОД, и дори седем са мерзост за душата Му:

A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

надменни очи, лъжлив език и ръце, които проливат невинна кръв,

An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

сърце, което крои зли планове, крака, които бързо тичат към зло,

A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

лъжесвидетел, който говори лъжа, и такъв, който сее раздори между братя.

My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

Сине мой, пази заповедта на баща си и не отхвърляй закона на майка си.

Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck.

Вържи ги завинаги за сърцето си, увий ги около шията си.

When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.

Когато ходиш, ще те води, когато спиш, ще те пази, когато се събудиш, ще разговаря с теб.

For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

Защото заповедта е светилник и законът — светлина, и поучителните изобличения са път на живот,

To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.

за да те пазят от злата жена, от ласкателния език на чужденката.

Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.

Не пожелавай красотата й в сърцето си и да не те улови с миглите си,

For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life.

защото заради блудна жена човек изпада до парче хляб и жена на друг мъж лови скъпоценната душа.

Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?

Може ли някой да вземе огън в пазвата си и дрехите му да не изгорят?

Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?

Може ли някой да ходи по разпалени въглища и краката му да не обгорят?

So he that goeth in to his neighbour's wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent.

Така е и с онзи, който влиза при жената на ближния си — който се докосне до нея, няма да бъде невинен.

Men do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry;

Крадецът не бива презиран, ако краде, за да насити душата си, когато е гладен,

But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house.

но ако бъде уловен, трябва да възстанови седмократно, трябва да даде целия имот на къщата си.

But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.

Онзи, който прелюбодейства с жена, е лишен от ум. Който прави това, погубва собствената си душа.

A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away.

Рани и срам ще намери и позорът му няма да се изличи,

For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance.

защото ревността събужда яростта на мъжа и той няма да пожали в деня на отмъщението.

He will not regard any ransom; neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts.

Няма да приеме никакъв откуп и няма да се умилостиви, ако и да умножаваш даровете.
