Proverbs 15

Лагідна відповідь гнів відвертає, а слово вразливе гнів підіймає.

A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

Язик мудрих то добре знання, а уста нерозумних глупоту висловлюють.

The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

Очі Господні на кожному місці, позирають на злих та на добрих.

The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

Язик лагідний то дерево життя, а лукавство його заламання на дусі.

A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.

Зневажає безумний напучення батькове, а хто береже осторогу, стає розумніший.

A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.

Дім праведного скарб великий, а в плоді безбожного безлад.

In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.

Уста мудрих знання розсівають, а серце безглуздих не так.

The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.

Жертва безбожних огида для Господа, а молитва невинних Його уподоба.

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

Господеві огида дорога безбожного, а того, хто женеться за праведністю, Він кохає.

The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.

Люта кара на того, хто путь оставляє, а хто осторогу ненавидить, той умирає.

Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.

Шеол й Аваддон перед Господом, тим більше серця синів людських!

Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?

Насмішник не любить картання собі, він до мудрих не піде.

A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.

Радісне серце лице веселить, а при смутку сердечному дух приголомшений.

A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

Серце розумне шукає знання, а уста безумних глупоту пасуть.

The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.

Нужденному всі дні лихі, кому ж добре на серці, у того гостина постійно.

All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.

Ліпше мале у Господньому страху, ані ж скарб великий, та тривога при тому.

Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.

Ліпша пожива яринна, і при тому любов, аніж тучний віл, та ненависть при тому.

Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.

Гнівлива людина роздражнює сварку, терпелива ж у гніві вспокоює заколот.

A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.

Дорога лінивого то терновиння, а путь щирих дорога гладка.

The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.

Мудрий син тішить батька свого, а людина безумна погорджує матір'ю своєю.

A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.

Глупота то радість для нерозумного, а людина розумна дорогою простою ходить.

Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.

Ламаються задуми з браку поради, при численності ж радників сповняться.

Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.

Радість людині у відповіді його уст, а слово на часі своєму яке воно добре!

A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!

Путь життя для премудрого угору, щоб віддалюватись від шеолу внизу.

The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.

Дім пишних руйнує Господь, але ставить межу для вдови.

The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.

Думки злого огида для Господа, але чисті для Нього приємні слова.

The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.

Зажерливий робить нещасним свій дім, хто ж дарунки ненавидить, той буде жити.

He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.

Серце праведного розмірковує про відповідь, а уста безбожних вибризкують зло.

The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.

Далекий Господь від безбожних, але справедливих молитву Він чує.

The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

Світло очей тішить серце, добра звістка підкріплює кості.

The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat.

Ухо, що навчання життя вислуховує, буде перебувати між мудрими.

The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.

Хто напучування не приймає, той не дбає про душу свою, а хто слухається остороги, здобуде той розум.

He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.

Страх Господній навчання премудрости, а перед славою скромність іде.

The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
