Proverbs 15

Η γλυκεια αποκρισις καταπραυνει θυμον αλλ ο λυπηρος λογος διεγειρει οργην.

A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

Η γλωσσα των σοφων καλλωπιζει την γνωσιν το στομα δε των αφρονων εξερευγεται μωριαν.

The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

Οι οφθαλμοι του Κυριου ειναι εν παντι τοπω, παρατηρουντες κακους και αγαθους.

The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

Η υγιαινουσα γλωσσα ειναι δενδρον ζωης η δε διεστραμμενη, συντριψις εις το πνευμα.

A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.

Ο αφρων καταφρονει την διδασκαλιαν του πατρος αυτου ο δε φυλαττων ελεγχον ειναι φρονιμος.

A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.

Εν τω οικω του δικαιου ειναι θησαυρος πολυς εις δε το εισοδημα του ασεβους διασκορπισμος.

In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.

Τα χειλη των σοφων διαδιδουσι γνωσιν αλλ η καρδια των αφρονων δεν ειναι ουτως.

The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.

Η θυσια των ασεβων ειναι βδελυγμα εις τον Κυριον αλλ η δεησις των ευθεων ευπροσδεκτος εις αυτον.

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

Βδελυγμα ειναι εις τον Κυριον η οδος του ασεβους αγαπα δε τον θηρευοντα την δικαιοσυνην.

The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.

Η διδασκαλια ειναι δυσαρεστος εις τον εγκαταλειποντα την οδον ο μισων τον ελεγχον θελει τελευτησει.

Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.

Ο αδης και η απωλεια ειναι εμπροσθεν του Κυριου ποσω μαλλον αι καρδιαι των υιων των ανθρωπων;

Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?

Ο χλευαστης δεν αγαπα τον ελεγχοντα αυτον, ουδε θελει υπαγει προς τους σοφους.

A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.

Καρδια ευφραινομενη ιλαρυνει το προσωπον υπο δε της λυπης της καρδιας καταθλιβεται το πνευμα.

A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

Η καρδια του συνετου ζητει γνωσιν το δε στομα των αφρονων βοσκει μωριαν.

The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.

Πασαι αι ημεραι του τεθλιμμενου ειναι κακαι ο δε ευφραινομενος την καρδιαν εχει ευωχιαν παντοτεινην.

All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.

Καλητερον το ολιγον εν φοβω Κυριου, παρα θησαυροι πολλοι και ταραχη εν αυτοις.

Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.

Καλητερον ξενισμος λαχανων μετα αγαπης, παρα μοσχος σιτευτος μετα μισους.

Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.

Ο θυμωδης ανθρωπος διεγειρει μαχας ο δε μακροθυμος καταπαυει εριδας.

A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.

Η οδος του οκνηρου ειναι ως πεφραγμενη απο ακανθας αλλ η οδος των ευθεων ειναι εξωμαλισμενη.

The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.

Υιος σοφος ευφραινει πατερα ο δε μωρος ανθρωπος καταφρονει την μητερα αυτου.

A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.

Η μωρια ειναι χαρα εις τον ενδεη φρενων ο δε συνετος ανθρωπος περιπατει ορθως.

Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.

Οπου συμβουλιον δεν υπαρχει, οι σκοποι ματαιονονται εν δε τω πληθει των συμβουλων στερεονονται.

Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.

Χαρα εις τον ανθρωπον δια την αποκρισιν του στοματος αυτου, και λογος εν καιρω, ποσον καλος ειναι.

A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!

Η οδος της ζωης εις τον συνετον ειναι προς τα ανω, δια να εκκλινη απο του αδου κατω.

The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.

Ο Κυριος καταστρεφει τον οικον των υπερηφανων στερεονει δε το οριον της χηρας.

The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.

Οι λογισμοι του πονηρου ειναι βδελυγμα εις τον Κυριον των δε καθαρων οι λογοι ευαρεστοι.

The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.

Ο δωροληπτης ταραττει τον οικον αυτου αλλ οστις μισει τα δωρα θελει ζησει.

He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.

Η καρδια του δικαιου προμελετα δια να αποκριθη το δε στομα των ασεβων εξερευγεται κακα.

The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.

Ο Κυριος ειναι μακραν απο των ασεβων εισακουει δε της δεησεως των δικαιων.

The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

Το φως των οφθαλμων ευφραινει την καρδιαν και η καλη φημη παχυνει τα οστα.

The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat.

Το ωτιον, το οποιον ακουει τον ελεγχον της ζωης, διατριβει μεταξυ των σοφων.

The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.

Οστις απωθει την διδασκαλιαν, αποστρεφεται την ψυχην αυτου αλλ οστις ακουει τον ελεγχον, αποκτα συνεσιν.

He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.

Ο φοβος του Κυριου ειναι διδασκαλια σοφιας και η ταπεινωσις προπορευεται της δοξης.

The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
