Psalms 73

Salamo nataon'i Asafa. Andriamanitra mahasoa ny Isiraely tokoa, dia ny madio fo.

Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.

Fa izaho, dia saiky nibolasitra ny tongotro; saiky solafaka ny diako,

But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.

Satria nialona ny mpirehareha aho, raha nahita ny fiadanan'ny ratsy fanahy.

For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

Fa tsy misy fanaintainana amin'ny fahafatesany, ary fatratra ny heriny.

For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm.

Tsy mba misy manavesatra azy, tahaka ny olona sasany, ary tsy mba azom-pahoriana tahaka ny olon-kafa izy.

They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.

Dia izany no iambozonany rehareha toy ny rojo, sy itafiany fahalozàna tahaka ny lamba.

Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.

Bongon-tavy ny masony; miloatra ny hevitry ny fony.

Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.

Manazimbazimba izy ka miresaka fampahoriana an-dolom-po; avo vava izy.

They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.

Manao vava manakatra ny lanitra izy, ary ny lelany mandeha mitety ny tany.

They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.

Izany no itodihan'ny olony hankany aminy; ary rano be no gohin'ireny;

Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.

Ka hoy izy: Hataon'Andriamanitra ahoana no fahalala? ary manam-pahalalana va ny Avo Indrindra?

And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?

Indro, ireny dia olona ratsy fanahy; miadana mandrakariva izy ka mitombo harena.

Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.

Foana mihitsy ny nanadiovako ny foko sy ny nanasàko ny tanako tamin'ny fahamarinana.

Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency.

Azom-pahoriana mandritra ny andro aho, ary faizana isa-maraina.

For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.

Raha tahìny aho nanao hoe: Hiteny izany aho, dia ho namitaka ireo zanakao.

If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children.

Dia nieritreritra ta-hahalala izany zavatra izany aho, kanjo sarotra teo imasoko izany.

When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me;

Mandra-piditro tao amin'ny fitoera-masin'Andriamanitra ka nihevitra izay ho farany.

Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.

Eo amin'izay mahasolafaka tokoa no ametrahanao azy, ary aripakao ho ringana izy.

Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.

Hià! rava indray mipi-maso izy! levona izy, matin-java-mahatahotra izy!

How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.

Tahaka ny anaovan'ny olona ny nofiny ho tsinontsinona, dia tahaka izany, Tompo ô, no anaovanao ny endrik'ireny ho tsinontsinona, raha mifoha Hianao.

As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.

Raha lotika ny foko, ka voatsindrona ny voako,

Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.

Dia ketrina aho ka tsy nahalala; eny, biby teo anatrehanao aho.

So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee.

Nefa izaho dia eo aminao ihany mandrakariva, mihazona ny tanako ankavanana Hianao.

Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.

Ny saina omenao no hitondranao ahy, ary rehefa afaka izany, dia horaisinao ho amin'ny voninahitra aho.

Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

Iza no ahy any an-danitra? ary tsy misy etỳ ambonin'ny tany iriko tahaka Anao.

Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.

Na dia levona aza ny nofoko sy ny foko, dia mbola vatolampin'ny foko sy anjarako mandrakizay Andriamanitra.

My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

Fa, indro, very izay lavitra Anao; aringanao izay rehetra mijangajanga mahafoy Anao.

For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.

Fa, izaho, dia ny ho akaikin'Andriamanitra no mahatsara ahy; Hianao, Jehovah Tompo ô, no nataoko aroko, mba hilaza ny asanao rehetra aho.

But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.
