Psalms 107

O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

رب کا شکر کرو، کیونکہ وہ بھلا ہے، اور اُس کی شفقت ابدی ہے۔

Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

رب کے نجات یافتہ جن کو اُس نے عوضانہ دے کر دشمن کے قبضے سے چھڑایا ہے سب یہ کہیں۔

And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.

اُس نے اُنہیں مشرق سے مغرب تک اور شمال سے جنوب تک دیگر ممالک سے اکٹھا کیا ہے۔

They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.

بعض ریگستان میں صحیح راستہ بھول کر ویران راستے پر مارے مارے پھرے، اور کہیں بھی آبادی نہ ملی۔

Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

بھوک اور پیاس کے مارے اُن کی جان نڈھال ہو گئی۔

Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.

تب اُنہوں نے اپنی مصیبت میں رب کو پکارا، اور اُس نے اُنہیں اُن کی تمام پریشانیوں سے چھٹکارا دیا۔

And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

اُس نے اُنہیں صحیح راہ پر لا کر ایسی آبادی تک پہنچایا جہاں رہ سکتے تھے۔

Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

وہ رب کا شکر کریں کہ اُس نے اپنی شفقت اور اپنے معجزے انسان پر ظاہر کئے ہیں۔

For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

کیونکہ وہ پیاسی جان کو آسودہ کرتا اور بھوکی جان کو کثرت کی اچھی چیزوں سے سیر کرتا ہے۔

Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;

دوسرے زنجیروں اور مصیبت میں جکڑے ہوئے اندھیرے اور گہری تاریکی میں بستے تھے،

Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:

کیونکہ وہ اللہ کے فرمانوں سے سرکش ہوئے تھے، اُنہوں نے اللہ تعالیٰ کا فیصلہ حقیر جانا تھا۔

Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.

اِس لئے اللہ نے اُن کے دل کو تکلیف میں مبتلا کر کے پست کر دیا۔ جب وہ ٹھوکر کھا کر گر گئے اور مدد کرنے والا کوئی نہ رہا تھا

Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.

تو اُنہوں نے اپنی مصیبت میں رب کو پکارا، اور اُس نے اُنہیں اُن کی تمام پریشانیوں سے چھٹکارا دیا۔

He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.

وہ اُنہیں اندھیرے اور گہری تاریکی سے نکال لایا اور اُن کی زنجیریں توڑ ڈالیں۔

Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

وہ رب کا شکر کریں کہ اُس نے اپنی شفقت اور اپنے معجزے انسان پر ظاہر کئے ہیں۔

For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.

کیونکہ اُس نے پیتل کے دروازے توڑ ڈالے، لوہے کے کنڈے ٹکڑے ٹکڑے کر دیئے ہیں۔

Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

کچھ لوگ احمق تھے، وہ اپنے سرکش چال چلن اور گناہوں کے باعث پریشانیوں میں مبتلا ہوئے۔

Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.

اُنہیں ہر خوراک سے گھن آنے لگی، اور وہ موت کے دروازوں کے قریب پہنچے۔

Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses.

تب اُنہوں نے اپنی مصیبت میں رب کو پکارا، اور اُس نے اُنہیں اُن کی تمام پریشانیوں سے چھٹکارا دیا۔

He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

اُس نے اپنا کلام بھیج کر اُنہیں شفا دی اور اُنہیں موت کے گڑھے سے بچایا۔

Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

وہ رب کا شکر کریں کہ اُس نے اپنی شفقت اور معجزے انسان پر ظاہر کئے ہیں۔

And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.

وہ شکرگزاری کی قربانیاں پیش کریں اور خوشی کے نعرے لگا کر اُس کے کاموں کا چرچا کریں۔

They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;

بعض بحری جہاز میں بیٹھ گئے اور تجارت کے سلسلے میں سمندر پر سفر کرتے کرتے دُوردراز علاقوں تک پہنچے۔

These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.

اُنہوں نے رب کے عظیم کام اور سمندر کی گہرائیوں میں اُس کے معجزے دیکھے ہیں۔

For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.

کیونکہ رب نے حکم دیا تو آندھی چلی جو سمندر کی موجیں بلندیوں پر لائی۔

They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.

وہ آسمان تک چڑھیں اور گہرائیوں تک اُتریں۔ پریشانی کے باعث ملاحوں کی ہمت جواب دے گئی۔

They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits' end.

وہ شراب میں دُھت آدمی کی طرح لڑکھڑاتے اور ڈگمگاتے رہے۔ اُن کی تمام حکمت ناکام ثابت ہوئی۔

Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.

تب اُنہوں نے اپنی مصیبت میں رب کو پکارا، اور اُس نے اُنہیں تمام پریشانیوں سے چھٹکارا دیا۔

He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

اُس نے سمندر کو تھما دیا اور خاموشی پھیل گئی، لہریں ساکت ہو گئیں۔

Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

مسافر پُرسکون حالات دیکھ کر خوش ہوئے، اور اللہ نے اُنہیں منزلِ مقصود تک پہنچایا۔

Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

وہ رب کا شکر کریں کہ اُس نے اپنی شفقت اور اپنے معجزے انسان پر ظاہر کئے ہیں۔

Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.

وہ قوم کی جماعت میں اُس کی تعظیم کریں، بزرگوں کی مجلس میں اُس کی حمد کریں۔

He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground;

کئی جگہوں پر وہ دریاؤں کو ریگستان میں اور چشموں کو پیاسی زمین میں بدل دیتا ہے۔

A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

باشندوں کی بُرائی دیکھ کر وہ زرخیز زمین کو کلر کے بیابان میں بدل دیتا ہے۔

He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.

دوسری جگہوں پر وہ ریگستان کو جھیل میں اور پیاسی زمین کو چشموں میں بدل دیتا ہے۔

And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;

وہاں وہ بھوکوں کو بسا دیتا ہے تاکہ آبادیاں قائم کریں۔

And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.

تب وہ کھیت اور انگور کے باغ لگاتے ہیں جو خوب پھل لاتے ہیں۔

He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

اللہ اُنہیں برکت دیتا ہے تو اُن کی تعداد بہت بڑھ جاتی ہے۔ وہ اُن کے ریوڑوں کو بھی کم ہونے نہیں دیتا۔

Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.

جب کبھی اُن کی تعداد کم ہو جاتی اور وہ مصیبت اور دُکھ کے بوجھ تلے خاک میں دب جاتے ہیں

He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.

تو وہ شرفا پر اپنی حقارت اُنڈیل دیتا اور اُنہیں ریگستان میں بھگا کر صحیح راستے سے دُور پھرنے دیتا ہے۔

Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.

لیکن محتاج کو وہ مصیبت کی دلدل سے نکال کر سرفراز کرتا اور اُس کے خاندانوں کو بھیڑبکریوں کی طرح بڑھا دیتا ہے۔

The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

سیدھی راہ پر چلنے والے یہ دیکھ کر خوش ہوں گے، لیکن بےانصاف کا منہ بند کیا جائے گا۔

Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.

کون دانش مند ہے؟ وہ اِس پر دھیان دے، وہ رب کی مہربانیوں پر غور کرے۔
