Psalms 18

I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.

ای خداوند، ای توانایی من! تو را دوست می‌دارم.

The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

خداوند پشتیبان من است؛ پناهگاه مستحکم من، خدای من نجات‌دهندهٔ من است. او همانند یک پناهگاه از من محافظت می‌کند؛ او مرا حمایت می‌کند و مرا در امنیّت نگاه می‌دارد.

I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

خداوند را که شایستهٔ سپاس و ستایش است، می‌طلبم و از شرّ دشمنان در امان هستم.

The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.

طنابهای گور به دورم حلقه زده‌اند و امواج نابود‌کننده احاطه‌ام کرده‌اند.

The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.

طنابهای گور به دورم حلقه زده‌اند و مرگ دام خود را بر سر راهم قرار داده.

In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

در مشکلاتم به حضور خداوند زاری نمودم. از خدای خود کمک خواستم. او از معبد بزرگ خود نالهٔ مرا شنید و فریاد من به گوشش رسید.

Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.

آنگاه زمین لرزید و تکان خورد. و بنیاد کوهستان از شدّت خشم او به لرزه افتاد. کوهها لرزیدند و اساس آنها متزلزل شد.

There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

از سوراخهای بینی او دود برآمد. از دهانش زغال برافروخته و آتشِ کُشنده بیرون آمد.

He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.

او آسمان را شكافت و فرود آمد و زیر پاهایش ابرهای سیاه بود.

And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind.

با سرعت بر فرشتهٔ بالدار خود پرواز کرد او بر بالهای باد پرواز کرد.

He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

او با تاریکی خود را پوشاند و ابرهای سیاهِ باران‌زا احاطه‌اش کردند.

At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.

نور درخشان حضور او با تگرگ و شعلهٔ افروخته، پردهٔ ابرهای سیاه را شکافت.

The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.

خداوند نیز در آسمانها با صدای رعدآسا سخن گفت و صدای خداوند متعال شنیده شد.

Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.

تیرهای خود را پرتاب نمود و دشمنان خود را پراکنده ساخت و با رعد و برق، همه را آشفته کرد.

Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

کف دریا ظاهر شد، و بنیاد زمین آشکار گردید هنگامی که دشمنانت را توبیخ کردی و با خشم بر آنها غریدی.

He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.

خداوند دستش را از آسمان دراز کرد و مرا برگرفت؛ و از آبهای عمیق مرا بیرون كشید.

He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.

او مرا از دست دشمنان قدرتمندم و از دست تمام آنانی که از من متنفّرند رهانید. آنها برایم خیلی قوی بودند.

They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.

وقتی در سختی بودم، بر سرم ریختند، امّا خداوند از من حمایت کرد.

He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

او مرا کمک کرد تا از خطر رهایی یابم؛ او مرا نجات داد زیرا از من خشنود بود.

The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

خداوند به‌خاطر نیكو‌كاری‌ام به من پاداش داد و به‌خاطر بی‌گناهی‌ام به من برکت داد.

For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

من دستورات خداوند را بجا آورده و روی خود را از خدا برنگردانیده‌ام،

For all his judgments were before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me.

احکام او را انجام داده‌ و از اوامر او سرپیچی نکرده‌ام.

I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity.

در پیشگاه او بی‌عیب بوده‌ و از گناه خودداری کرده‌ام.

Therefore hath the LORD recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.

بنابراین به‌خاطر نیكوکاری‌ام به من پاداش داد و به‌خاطر بی‌گناهی‌‌ام به من برکت عطا نمود.

With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright;

ای خداوند تو با اشخاص وفادار، وفادار هستی، و به مردم بی‌عیب، نیكویی می‌كنی.

With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward.

با کسانی‌که پاک هستند به پاکی رفتار می‌نمایی و با کسانی‌که کجرو هستند مخالفت می‌کنی.

For thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks.

تو فروتنان را نجات می‌بخشی و اشخاص متکبّر را سرنگون می‌کنی.

For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.

ای خداوند تو نور من هستی، تو تاریكی مرا روشن گردان.

For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.

با نیروی تو به دشمن یورش می‌برم و دژهای آنان را درهم می‌شکنم.

As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.

راه خدا کامل و وعدهٔ خداوند قابل اطمینان است. او حافظ کسانی است که به او پناه می‌آورند.

For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?

خداوند تنها خداست؛ خدا تنها تکیه‌گاه ماست.

It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

خداست که مرا قدرت بخشیده، و راه مرا امن ساخته است.

He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places.

پاهای مرا مانند پاهای آهو ساخته و بر کوهها استوارم نموده است.

He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

دستهایم را برای جنگ تعلیم می‌دهد تا بتوانم قویترین کمان را به دست گیرم.

Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.

ای خداوند تو از من حمایت نموده و مرا نجات دادی؛ توجّه تو مرا قوی گردانید، و کمک تو مرا حفظ نمود.

Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.

راه را برای قدمهایم وسیع ساختی تا پاهایم نلغزد.

I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed.

دشمنانم را تعقیب کردم و آنها را گرفتم و تا آنها را از بین نبردم، بازنگشتم.

I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet.

آنها را بکلّی پایمال نمودم تا دیگر برنخیزند و به زیر پاهایم جان دادند.

For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.

تو برای مبارزه به من نیرو بخشیدی و دشمنانم زیر پاهایم جان دادند.

Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.

دشمنانم را متواری ساختی و من کسانی را که از من نفرت داشتند، نابود کردم.

They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.

آنها برای کمک زاری نمودند، امّا کسی به دادشان نرسید. خداوند را صدا کردند، امّا او به آنها جوابی نداد.

Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets.

من آنها را همچون غبار خرد کردم، که باد آنها را پراکنده می‌کند و زیر پاهای خود مانند گل و لای کوچه، پایمال نمودم.

Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me.

تو مرا از دست مردم ستیزه‌گر رهانیدی، و مرا فرمانروای ملتّها ساختی؛ و مردمی را که نمی‌شناختم، اکنون مرا خدمت می‌کنند.

As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.

بیگانگان نزد من تعظیم می‌کنند و دستوراتم را فوراً اطاعت می‌نمایند.

The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.

آنها دلسرد شده‌اند و با ترس و لرز از قلعه‌های خود بیرون می‌آیند.

The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

خداوند زنده است! حامی خود را ستایش می‌کنم، متبارک باد خدای قدرتمند که مرا نجات می‌دهد.

It is God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people under me.

او در برابر دشمنان، مرا پیروزی می‌بخشد و ملل جهان را به دست من مغلوب می‌سازد.

He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

او مرا از دست دشمنانم می‌رهاند، خداوندا تو مرا نزد دشمنانم سرفرازم می‌سازی و از چنگ مردم ظالم نجات می‌دهی.

Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and sing praises unto thy name.

بنابراین من تو را در میان ملّتها ستایش می‌کنم و سرود ستایش برای تو می‌خوانم.

Great deliverance giveth he to his king; and sheweth mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.

خدا پیروزی بزرگی نصیب پادشاه خود می‌کند و به برگزیدهٔ خود، داوود، و فرزندان او برای همیشه رحمت و شفقت نشان می‌دهد.
