Psalms 73

सचमुच, इस्राएल के प्रति परमेश्वर भला है। परमेश्वर उन लोगों के लिए भला होता है जिनके हृदय स्वच्छ है।

Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.

मैं तो लगभग फिसल गया था और पाप करने लगा।

But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.

जब मैंने देखा कि पापी सफल हो रहे हैं और शांति से रह रहे हैं, तो उन अभिमानी लोगों से मुझको जलन हुयी।

For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

वे लोग स्वस्थ हैं उन्हें जीवन के लिए संघर्ष नहीं करना पड़ता है।

For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm.

वे अभिमानी लोग पीड़ायें नहीं उठाते है। जैसे हम लोग दु;ख झेलते हैं, वैसे उनको औरों की तरह यातनाएँ नहीं होती।

They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.

इसलिए वे अहंकार से भरे रहते हैं। और वे घृणा से भरे हुए रहते हैं। ये वैसा ही साफ दिखता है, जैसे रत्न और वे सुन्दर वस्त्र जिनको वे पहने हैं।

Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.

वे लोग ऐसे है कि यदि कोई वस्तु देखते हैं और उनको पसन्द आ जाती है, तो उसे बढ़कर झपट लेते हैं। वे वैसे ही करते हैं, जैसे उन्हें भाता है।

Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.

वे दूसरों के बारें में क्रूर बातें और बुरी बुरी बातें कहते है। वे अहंकारी और हठी है। वे दूसरे लोगों से लाभ उठाने का रास्ता बनाते है।

They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.

अभिमानी मनुष्य सोचते हैं वे देवता हैं! वे अपने आप को धरती का शासक समझते हैं।

They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.

यहाँ तक कि परमेश्वर के जन, उन दुष्टों की ओर मुड़ते और जैसा वे कहते है, वैसा विश्वास कर लेते हैं।

Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.

वे दुष्ट जन कहते हैं, “हमारे उन कर्मो को परमेश्वर नहीं जानता! जिनकों हम कर रहे हैं!”

And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?

वे मनुष्य अभिमान और कुटिल हैं, किन्तु वे निरन्तर धनी और अधिक धनी होते जा रहे हैं।

Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.

सो मैं अपना मन पवित्र क्यों बनाता रहूँ? अपने हाथों को सदा निर्मल क्यों करता रहूँ?

Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency.

हे परमेश्वर, मैं सारे ही दिन दु:ख भोगा करता हूँ। तू हर सुबह मुझको दण्ड देता है।

For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.

हे परमेश्वर, मैं ये बातें दूसरो को बताना चाहता था। किन्तु मैं जानता था और मैं ऐसे ही तेरे भक्तों के विरूद्ध हो जाता था।

If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children.

इन बातों को समझने का, मैंने जतन किया किन्तु इनका समझना मेरे लिए बहुत कठिन था,

When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me;

जब तक मैं तेरे मन्दिर में नहीं गया। मैं परमेश्वर के मन्दिर में गया और तब मैं समझा।

Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.

हे परमेश्वर, सचमुच तूने उन लोगों को भयंकर परिस्थिति में रखा है। उनका गिर जाना बहुत ही सरल है। उनका नष्ट हो जाना बहुत ही सरल है।

Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.

सहसा उन पर विपत्ति पड़ सकती है, और वे अहंकारी जन नष्ट हो जाते हैं। उनके साथ भयंकर घटनाएँ घट सकती हैं, और फिर उनका अंत हो जाता है।

How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.

हे यहोवा, वे मनुष्य ऐसे होंगे जैसे स्वप्न जिसको हम जागते ही भुल जाते हैं। तू ऐसे लोगों को हमारे स्वप्न के भयानक जन्तु की तरह अदृश्य कर दे।

As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.

मैं अज्ञान था। मैंने धनिकों और दुष्ट लोगों पर विचारा, और मैं व्याकुल हो गया। हे परमेश्वर, मैं तुझ पर क्रोधित हुआ! मैं निर्बुद्धि जानवर सा व्यवहार किया।

Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.

मैं अज्ञान था। मैंने धनिकों और दुष्ट लोगों पर विचारा, और मैं व्याकुल हो गया। हे परमेश्वर, मैं तुझ पर क्रोधित हुआ! मैं निर्बुद्धि जानवर सा व्यवहार किया।

So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee.

वह सब कुछ मेरे पास है, जिसकी मुझे अपेक्षा है। मैं तेरे साथ हरदम हूँ। हे परमेश्वर, तू मेरा हाथ थामें है।

Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.

हे परमेश्वर, तू मुझे मार्ग दिखलाता, और मुझे सम्मति देता है। अंत में तू अपनी महिमा में मेरा नेतृत्व करेगा।

Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

हे परमेश्वर, स्वर्ग में बस तू ही मेरा है, और धरती पर मुझे क्या चाहिए, जब तू मेरे साथ है

Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.

चाहे मेरा मन टूट जाये और मेरी काया नष्ट हो जाये किन्तु वह चट्टान मेरे पास है, जिसे मैं प्रेम करता हूँ। परमेश्वर मेरे पास सदा है!

My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

परमेश्वर, जो लोग तुझको त्यागते हैं, वे नष्ट हो जाते है। जिनका विश्वास तुझमें नहीं तू उन लोगों को नष्ट कर देगा।

For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.

किन्तु, मैं परमेश्वर के निकट आया। मेरे साथ परमेश्वर भला है, मैंने अपना सुरक्षास्थान अपने स्वामी यहोवा को बनाया है। हे परमेश्वर, मैं उन सभी बातों का बखान करूँगा जिनको तूने किया है।

But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.
