Jafets söner voro Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Mesek och Tiras.1 Mos. 10,2 f.

The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.

Gomers söner voro Askenas, Difat och Togarma.

And the sons of Gomer; Ashchenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

Javans söner voro Elisa och Tarsisa, kittéerna och rodanéerna.

And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

Hams söner voro Kus, Misraim, Put och Kanaan.

The sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

Kus' söner voro Seba, Havila, Sabta, Raema och Sabteka. Raemas söner voro Saba och Dedan.

And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabta, and Raamah, and Sabtecha. And the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.

Men Kus födde Nimrod; han var den förste som upprättade ett välde på jorden.

And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be mighty upon the earth.

Och Misraim födde ludéerna, anaméerna, lehabéerna, naftuhéerna,

And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,

patroséerna, kasluhéerna, från vilka filistéerna hava utgått, och kaftoréerna.

And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (of whom came the Philistines,) and Caphthorim.

Och Kanaan födde Sidon, som var hans förstfödde, och Het,

And Canaan begat Zidon his firstborn, and Heth,

så ock jebuséerna, amoréerna och girgaséerna,

The Jebusite also, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,

hivéerna, arkéerna, sinéerna,

And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,

arvadéerna, semaréerna och hamatéerna.

And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite.

Sems söner voro Elam, Assur, Arpaksad, Lud och Aram, så ock Us, Hul, Geter och Mesek.

The sons of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram, and Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Meshech.

Arpaksad födde Sela, och Sela födde Eber.

And Arphaxad begat Shelah, and Shelah begat Eber.

Men åt Eber föddes två söner; den ene hette Peleg, ty i hans tid blev jorden fördelad; och hans broder hette Joktan.

And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg; because in his days the earth was divided: and his brother's name was Joktan.

Och Joktan födde Almodad, Selef, Hasarmavet, Jera,

And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,

Hadoram, Usal, Dikla,

Hadoram also, and Uzal, and Diklah,

Ebal, Abimael, Saba,

And Ebal, and Abimael, and Sheba,

Ofir, Havila och Jobab; alla dessa voro Joktans söner.

And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.

Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These are the sons of Ishmael.

Och de söner som Ketura, Abrahams bihustru, födde voro Simran, Joksan, Medan, Midjan, Jisbak och Sua. Joksans söner voro Saba och Dedan.1 Mos. 25,2 f.

Now the sons of Keturah, Abraham's concubine: she bare Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. And the sons of Jokshan; Sheba, and Dedan.

Och Midjans söner voro Efa, Efer, Hanok, Abida och Eldaa. Alla dessa voro Keturas söner.

And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Henoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these are the sons of Keturah.

Och Abraham födde Isak. Isaks söner voro Esau och Israel.1 Mos. 25,19 f.

And Abraham begat Isaac. The sons of Isaac; Esau and Israel.

Esaus söner voro Elifas, Reguel, Jeus, Jaelam och Kora.1 Mos. 36,1 f.

The sons of Esau; Eliphaz, Reuel, and Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.

Elifas' söner voro Teman och Omar, Sefi och Gaetam, Kenas, Timna och Amalek

The sons of Eliphaz; Teman, and Omar, Zephi, and Gatam, Kenaz, and Timna, and Amalek.

Reguels söner voro Nahat, Sera, Samma och Missa.

The sons of Reuel; Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

Men Seirs söner voro Lotan, Sobal, Sibeon, Ana, Dison, Eser och Disan.

And the sons of Seir; Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah, and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan.

Lotans söner voro Hori och Homam; och Lotans syster var Timna.

And the sons of Lotan; Hori, and Homam: and Timna was Lotan's sister.

Sobals söner voro Aljan, Manahat och Ebal, Sefi och Onam. Och Sibeons söner voro Aja och Ana.

The sons of Shobal; Alian, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. And the sons of Zibeon; Aiah, and Anah.

Anas söner voro Dison. Och Disons söner voro Hamran, Esban, Jitran och Keran.

The sons of Anah; Dishon. And the sons of Dishon; Amram, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.

Esers söner voro Bilhan, Saavan, Jaakan. Disans söner voro Us och Aran.

The sons of Ezer; Bilhan, and Zavan, and Jakan. The sons of Dishan; Uz, and Aran.

Och dessa voro de konungar som regerade i Edoms land, innan ännu någon israelitisk konung var konung där: Bela, Beors son, och hans stad hette Dinhaba.

Now these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the children of Israel; Bela the son of Beor: and the name of his city was Dinhabah.

När Bela dog, blev Jobab, Seras son, från Bosra, konung efter honom.

And when Bela was dead, Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.

När Jobab dog, blev Husam från temanéernas land konung efter honom.

And when Jobab was dead, Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead.

När Husam dog, blev Hadad, Bedads son, konung efter honom, han som slog midjaniterna på Moabs mark; och hans stad hette Avit.

And when Husham was dead, Hadad the son of Bedad, which smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Avith.

När Hadad dog, blev Samla från Masreka konung efter honom.

And when Hadad was dead, Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.

När Samla dog, blev Saul, från Rehobot vid floden, konung efter honom.

And when Samlah was dead, Shaul of Rehoboth by the river reigned in his stead.

När Saul dog, blev Baal-Hanan, Akbors son, konung efter honom

And when Shaul was dead, Baal–hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead.

När Baal-Hanan dog, blev Hadad konung efter honom; och hans stad hette Pagi, och hans hustru hette Mehetabel, dotter till Matred, var dotter till Me-Sahab.

And when Baal–hanan was dead, Hadad reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Pai; and his wife's name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.

Men när Hadad hade dött, voro dessa Edoms stamfurstar: fursten Timna, fursten Alja, fursten Jetet,

Hadad died also. And the dukes of Edom were; duke Timnah, duke Aliah, duke Jetheth,

fursten Oholibama, fursten Ela, fursten Pinon,

Duke Aholibamah, duke Elah, duke Pinon,

fursten Kenas, fursten Teman, fursten Mibsar,

Duke Kenaz, duke Teman, duke Mibzar,

fursten Magdiel, fursten Iram. Dessa voro Edoms stamfurstar.

Duke Magdiel, duke Iram. These are the dukes of Edom.
