Job 33

“किन्तु अय्यूब अब, मेरा सन्देश सुन। उन बातों पर ध्यान दे जिनको मैं कहता हूँ।

Wherefore, Job, I pray thee, hear my speeches, and hearken to all my words.

मैं अपनी बात शीघ्र ही कहनेवाला हूँ, मैं अपनी बात कहने को लगभग तैयार हूँ।

Behold, now I have opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my mouth.

मन मेरा सच्चा है सो मैं सच्चा शब्द बोलूँगा। उन बातों के बारे में जिनको मैं जानता हूँ मैं सत्य कहूँगा।

My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.

परमेश्वर की आत्मा ने मुझको बनाया है, मुझे सर्वशक्तिशाली परमेश्वर से जीवन मिलता है।

The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.

अय्यूब, सुन और मुझे उत्तर दे यदि तू सोचता है कि तू दे सकता है। अपने उत्तरों को तैयार रख ताकि तू मुझसे तर्क कर सके।

If thou canst answer me, set thy words in order before me, stand up.

परमेश्वर के सम्मुख हम दोनों एक जैसे हैं, और हम दोनों को ही उसने मिट्टी से बनाया है।

Behold, I am according to thy wish in God's stead: I also am formed out of the clay.

अय्यूब, तू मुझ से मत डर। मैं तेरे साथ कठोर नहीं होऊँगा।

Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee.

“किन्तु अय्यूब, मैंने सुना है कि तू यह कहा करता हैं,

Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of thy words, saying,

तूने कहा था, कि मैं अय्यूब, दोषी नहीं हूँ, मैंने पाप नहीं किया, अथवा मैं कुछ भी अनुचित नहीं करता हूँ, मैं अपराधी नहीं हूँ।

I am clean without transgression, I am innocent; neither is there iniquity in me.

यद्यपि मैंने कुछ भी अनुचित नहीं किया, तो भी परमेश्वर ने कुछ खोट मुझ में पाया है। परमेश्वर सोचता है कि मैं अय्यूब, उसका शत्रु हूँ।

Behold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy,

इसलिए परमेश्वर मेरे पैरों में काठ डालता है, मैं जो कुछ भी करता हूँ वह देखता रहता है।

He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.

“किन्तु अय्यूब, मैं तुझको निश्चय के साथ बताता हूँ कि तू इस विषय में अनुचित है। क्यों? क्योंकि परमेश्वर किसी भी व्यक्ति से अधिक जानता है।

Behold, in this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.

अय्यूब, तू क्यों शिकायत करता है और क्यों परमेश्वर से बहस करता है? तू क्यों शिकायत करता है कि परमेश्वर तुझे हर उस बात के विषय में जो वह करता है स्पष्ट क्यों नहीं बताता है?

Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.

किन्तु परमेश्वर निश्चय ही हर उस बात को जिसको वह करता है स्पष्ट कर देता है। परमेश्वर अलग अलग रीति से बोलता है किन्तु लोग उसको समझ नहीं पाते हैं।

For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.

सम्भव है कि परमेश्वर स्वप्न में लोगों के कान में बोलता हो, अथवा किसी दिव्यदर्शन में रात को जब वे गहरी नींद में हों।

In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;

जब परमेश्वर की चेतावनियाँ सुनते है तो बहुत डर जाते हैं।

Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,

परमेश्वर लोगों को बुरी बातों को करने से रोकने को सावधान करता है, और उन्हें अहंकारी बनने से रोकने को।

That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.

परमेश्वर लोगों को मृत्यु के देश में जाने से बचाने के लिये सावधान करता है। परमेश्वर मनुष्य को नाश से बचाने के लिये ऐसा करता है।

He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.

“अथवा कोई व्यक्ति परमेश्वर की वाणी तब सुन सकता है जब वह बिस्तर में पड़ा हों और परमेश्वर के दण्ड से दु:ख भोगता हो। परमेश्वर पीड़ा से उस व्यक्ति को सावधान करता है। वह व्यक्ति इतनी गहन पीड़ा में होता है, कि उसकी हड्डियाँ दु:खती है।

He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain:

फिर ऐसा व्यक्ति कुछ खा नहीं पाता, उस व्यक्ति को पीड़ा होती है इतनी अधिक की उसको सर्वोत्तम भोजन भी नहीं भाता।

So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty meat.

उसके शरीर का क्षय तब तक होता जाता है जब तक वह कंकाल मात्र नहीं हो जाता, और उसकी सब हड्डियाँ दिखने नहीं लग जातीं!

His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones that were not seen stick out.

ऐसा व्यक्ति मृत्यु के देश के निकट होता है, और उसका जीवन मृत्यु के निकट होता है। किन्तु हो सकता है कि कोई स्वर्गदूत हो जो उसके उत्तम चरित्र की साक्षी दे।

Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers.

परमेश्वर के पास हजारों ही स्वर्गदूत हैं। फिर वह स्वर्गदूत उस व्यक्ति के अच्छे काम बतायेगा।

If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness:

वह स्वर्गदूत उस व्यक्ति पर दयालु होगा, वह दूत परमेश्वर से कहेगा: ‘इस व्यक्ति की मृत्यु के देश से रक्षा हो! इसका मूल्य चुकाने को एक राह मुझ को मिल गयी है।’

Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.

फिर व्यक्ति की देह जवान और सुदृढ़ हो जायेगी। वह व्यक्ति वैसा ही हो जायेगा जैसा वह तब था, जब वह जवान था।

His flesh shall be fresher than a child's: he shall return to the days of his youth:

वह व्यक्ति परमेश्वर की स्तुति करेगा और परमेश्वर उसकी स्तुति का उत्तर देगा। वह फिर परमेश्वर को वैसा ही पायेगा जैसे वह उसकी उपासना करता है, और वह अति प्रसन्न होगा। क्योंकि परमेश्वर उसे निरपराध घोषित कर के पहले जैसा जीवन कर देगा।

He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.

फिर वह व्यक्ति लोगों के सामने स्वीकार करेगा। वह कहेगा: ‘मैंने पाप किये थे, भले को बुरा मैंने किया था, किन्तु मुझे इससे क्या मिला!

He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not;

परमेश्वर ने मृत्यु के देश में गिरने से मेरी आत्मा को बचाया। मैं और अधिक जीऊँगा और फिर से जीवन का रस लूँगा।’

He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.

“परमेश्वर व्यक्ति के साथ ऐसा बार—बार करता है,

Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man,

उसको सावधान करने को और उसकी आत्मा को मृत्यु के देश से बचाने को। ऐसा व्यक्ति फिर जीवन का रस लेता है।

To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living.

“अय्यूब, ध्यान दे मुझ पर, तू बात मेरी सुन, तू चुप रह और मुझे कहने दे।

Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I will speak.

अय्यूब, यदि तेरे पास कुछ कहने को है तो मुझको उसको सुनने दे। आगे बढ़ और बता, क्योंकि मैं तुझे निर्दोंष देखना चाहता हूँ।

If thou hast any thing to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee.

अय्यूब, यदि तूझे कुछ नहीं कहना है तो तू मेरी बात सुन। चुप रह, मैं तुझको बुद्धिमान बनना सिखाऊँगा।”

If not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom.
