Job 15

Тогава теманецът Елифаз отговори и каза:

Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said,

Мъдър човек отговаря ли с вятърничаво знание и пълни ли корема си с източния вятър?

Should a wise man utter vain knowledge, and fill his belly with the east wind?

Спори ли със приказки, които не помагат, или с речи, от които няма полза?

Should he reason with unprofitable talk? or with speeches wherewith he can do no good?

Наистина ти унищожаваш страха от Бога и възпираш молитвата със размишление пред Бога,

Yea, thou castest off fear, and restrainest prayer before God.

защото вината ти поучава устата ти и ти избираш езика на коварните.

For thy mouth uttereth thine iniquity, and thou choosest the tongue of the crafty.

Устата ти те осъжда, а не аз; да, устните ти против теб свидетелстват.

Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and not I: yea, thine own lips testify against thee.

Ти ли си първият роден човек? Или си създаден преди хълмовете?

Art thou the first man that was born? or wast thou made before the hills?

Чул ли си Божия таен съвет? Или в себе си заключваш мъдростта?

Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself?

Какво знаеш ти, което ние да не знаем? Какво разбираш ти, което в нас го няма?

What knowest thou, that we know not? what understandest thou, which is not in us?

Между нас са както белокосите, така и старците, по-богати на дни от баща ти.

With us are both the grayheaded and very aged men, much elder than thy father.

Божиите утешения и меките към тебе думи малко ли са ти?

Are the consolations of God small with thee? is there any secret thing with thee?

Какво те блазни сърцето ти и защо святкат очите ти,

Why doth thine heart carry thee away? and what do thy eyes wink at,

за да обръщаш духа си против Бога и да изпускаш такива думи от устата си?

That thou turnest thy spirit against God, and lettest such words go out of thy mouth?

Какво е човек, че да е чист, и роденият от жена, че да е праведен?

What is man, that he should be clean? and he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?

Ето, Той не се доверява на светите Си и небесата не са чисти в очите Му —

Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight.

колко по-малко гнусният и непотребният човек, който пие неправда като вода!

How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water?

Аз ще ти кажа, послушай ме; каквото съм видял, ще ти разкажа,

I will shew thee, hear me; and that which I have seen I will declare;

което мъдрите оповестиха и не скриха още от бащите си;

Which wise men have told from their fathers, and have not hid it:

на тях единствено бе дадена земята и чужденец не мина между тях.

Unto whom alone the earth was given, and no stranger passed among them.

Безбожният се мъчи през всичките си дни, години преброени се пазят за насилника.

The wicked man travaileth with pain all his days, and the number of years is hidden to the oppressor.

Глас на ужаси звучи в ушите му и в мир унищожителят го връхлетява.

A dreadful sound is in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him.

Не вярва, че от мрака ще се върне; за меча е определен.

He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for of the sword.

За хляб се скита — но къде е? Знае, че денят на мрак за него е готов.

He wandereth abroad for bread, saying, Where is it? he knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.

Теснота и страх го ужасяват, и като цар, готов за бой, го побеждават,

Trouble and anguish shall make him afraid; they shall prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.

понеже против Бога той ръката си простира и срещу Всемогъщия се сили;

For he stretcheth out his hand against God, and strengtheneth himself against the Almighty.

спуска се с корав врат против Него, с дебелите гърбици на щита си;

He runneth upon him, even on his neck, upon the thick bosses of his bucklers:

понеже с тлъстината си покри лицето си, на слабините си натрупа лой;

Because he covereth his face with his fatness, and maketh collops of fat on his flanks.

и в запустели градове живее, в необитаеми къщи, готови за събаряне.

And he dwelleth in desolate cities, and in houses which no man inhabiteth, which are ready to become heaps.

Той няма да забогатее, нито имотът му ще устои, и изобилието му няма да се разпростре по земята.

He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall he prolong the perfection thereof upon the earth.

Няма да избяга от тъмнината, пламъкът ще изсуши издънките му и той ще премине от дъха на устата Му.

He shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches, and by the breath of his mouth shall he go away.

Нека не се доверява на суета, измамен, защото суета ще бъде и отплатата му.

Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his recompence.

Денят му още не е дошъл и вече се е изпълнил; и клонът му не ще раззеленее.

It shall be accomplished before his time, and his branch shall not be green.

Като лозата ще изрони неузрялото си грозде и като маслината цвета си ще захвърли;

He shall shake off his unripe grape as the vine, and shall cast off his flower as the olive.

защото събранието на лицемерите е безплодно и огън ще погълне шатрите на подкупничеството.

For the congregation of hypocrites shall be desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery.

Те зачеват зло и раждат грях, и сърцето им подготвя измама.

They conceive mischief, and bring forth vanity, and their belly prepareth deceit.
