Job 33

اے ایوب، میری تقریر سنیں، میری تمام باتوں پر کان دھریں!

Wherefore, Job, I pray thee, hear my speeches, and hearken to all my words.

اب مَیں اپنا منہ کھول دیتا ہوں، میری زبان بولتی ہے۔

Behold, now I have opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my mouth.

میرے الفاظ سیدھی راہ پر چلنے والے دل سے اُبھر آتے ہیں، میرے ہونٹ دیانت داری سے وہ کچھ بیان کرتے ہیں جو مَیں جانتا ہوں۔

My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.

اللہ کے روح نے مجھے بنایا، قادرِ مطلق کے دم نے مجھے زندگی بخشی۔

The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.

اگر آپ اِس قابل ہوں تو مجھے جواب دیں اور اپنی باتیں ترتیت سے پیش کر کے میرا مقابلہ کریں۔

If thou canst answer me, set thy words in order before me, stand up.

اللہ کی نظر میں مَیں تو آپ کے برابر ہوں، مجھے بھی مٹی سے لے کر تشکیل دیا گیا ہے۔

Behold, I am according to thy wish in God's stead: I also am formed out of the clay.

چنانچہ مجھے آپ کے لئے دہشت کا باعث نہیں ہونا چاہئے، میری طرف سے آپ پر بھاری بوجھ نہیں آئے گا۔

Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee.

آپ نے میرے سنتے ہی کہا بلکہ آپ کے الفاظ ابھی تک میرے کانوں میں گونج رہے ہیں،

Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of thy words, saying,

’مَیں پاک ہوں، مجھ سے جرم سرزد نہیں ہوا، مَیں بےگناہ ہوں، میرا کوئی قصور نہیں۔

I am clean without transgression, I am innocent; neither is there iniquity in me.

توبھی اللہ مجھ سے جھگڑنے کے مواقع ڈھونڈتا اور مجھے اپنا دشمن سمجھتا ہے۔

Behold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy,

وہ میرے پاؤں کو کاٹھ میں ڈال کر میری تمام راہوں کی پہرہ داری کرتا ہے۔‘

He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.

لیکن آپ کی یہ بات درست نہیں، کیونکہ اللہ انسان سے اعلیٰ ہے۔

Behold, in this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.

آپ اُس سے جھگڑ کر کیوں کہتے ہیں، ’وہ میری کسی بھی بات کا جواب نہیں دیتا‘؟

Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.

شاید انسان کو اللہ نظر نہ آئے، لیکن وہ ضرور کبھی اِس طریقے، کبھی اُس طریقے سے اُس سے ہم کلام ہوتا ہے۔

For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.

کبھی وہ خواب یا رات کی رویا میں اُس سے بات کرتا ہے۔ جب لوگ بستر پر لیٹ کر گہری نیند سو جاتے ہیں

In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;

تو اللہ اُن کے کان کھول کر اپنی نصیحتوں سے اُنہیں دہشت زدہ کر دیتا ہے۔

Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,

یوں وہ انسان کو غلط کام کرنے اور مغرور ہونے سے باز رکھ کر

That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.

اُس کی جان گڑھے میں اُترنے اور دریائے موت کو عبور کرنے سے روک دیتا ہے۔

He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.

کبھی اللہ انسان کو بستر پر درد کے ذریعے تربیت دیتا ہے۔ تب اُس کی ہڈیوں میں لگاتار جنگ ہوتی ہے۔

He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain:

اُس کی جان کو خوراک سے گھن آتی بلکہ اُسے لذیذترین کھانے سے بھی نفرت ہوتی ہے۔

So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty meat.

اُس کا گوشت پوست سکڑ کر غائب ہو جاتا ہے جبکہ جو ہڈیاں پہلے چھپی ہوئی تھیں وہ نمایاں طور پر نظر آتی ہیں۔

His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones that were not seen stick out.

اُس کی جان گڑھے کے قریب، اُس کی زندگی ہلاک کرنے والوں کے نزدیک پہنچتی ہے۔

Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers.

لیکن اگر کوئی فرشتہ، ہزاروں میں سے کوئی ثالث اُس کے پاس ہو جو انسان کو سیدھی راہ دکھائے

If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness:

اور اُس پر ترس کھا کر کہے، ’اُسے گڑھے میں اُترنے سے چھڑا، مجھے فدیہ مل گیا ہے،

Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.

اب اُس کا جسم جوانی کی نسبت زیادہ تر و تازہ ہو جائے اور وہ دوبارہ جوانی کی سی طاقت پائے‘

His flesh shall be fresher than a child's: he shall return to the days of his youth:

تو پھر وہ شخص اللہ سے التجا کرے گا، اور اللہ اُس پر مہربان ہو گا۔ تب وہ بڑی خوشی سے اللہ کا چہرہ تکتا رہے گا۔ اِسی طرح اللہ انسان کی راست بازی بحال کرتا ہے۔

He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.

ایسا شخص لوگوں کے سامنے گائے گا اور کہے گا، ’مَیں نے گناہ کر کے سیدھی راہ ٹیڑھی میڑھی کر دی، اور مجھے کوئی فائدہ نہ ہوا۔

He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not;

لیکن اُس نے فدیہ دے کر میری جان کو موت کے گڑھے میں اُترنے سے چھڑایا۔ اب میری زندگی نور سے لطف اندوز ہو گی۔‘

He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.

اللہ انسان کے ساتھ یہ سب کچھ دو چار مرتبہ کرتا ہے

Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man,

تاکہ اُس کی جان گڑھے سے واپس آئے اور وہ زندگی کے نور سے روشن ہو جائے۔

To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living.

اے ایوب، دھیان سے میری بات سنیں، خاموش ہو جائیں تاکہ مَیں بات کروں۔

Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I will speak.

اگر آپ جواب میں کچھ بتانا چاہیں تو بتائیں۔ بولیں، کیونکہ مَیں آپ کو راست باز ٹھہرانے کی آرزو رکھتا ہوں۔

If thou hast any thing to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee.

لیکن اگر آپ کچھ بیان نہیں کر سکتے تو میری سنیں، چپ رہیں تاکہ مَیں آپ کو حکمت کی تعلیم دوں۔“

If not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom.
