Proverbs 21

Водні потоки цареве це серце в Господній руці: куди тільки захоче, його Він скеровує.

The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

Всяка дорога людини пряма в її очах, та керує серцями Господь.

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.

Справедливість та правду чинити для Господа це добірніше за жертву.

To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

Муж гордого ока та серця надутого несправедливий, а світильник безбожних це гріх.

An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

Думки пильного лиш на достаток ведуть, а всякий квапливий на збиток.

The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.

Набування майна язиком неправдивим це скороминуща марнота шукаючих смерти.

The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.

Насильство безбожних прямує на них, бо права чинити не хочуть.

The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.

Дорога злочинця крута, а чистий прямий його чин.

The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.

Ліпше жити в куті на даху, ніж з сварливою жінкою в спільному домі.

It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.

Лихого жадає душа нечестивого, і в очах його ближній його не отримає милости.

The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.

Як карають глумливця мудріє безумний, а як мудрого вчать, знання набуває.

When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.

До дому свого приглядається праведний, а безбожний доводить до зла.

The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.

Хто вухо своє затикає від зойку убогого, то й він буде кликати, та не отримає відповіді.

Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.

Таємний дарунок погашує гнів, а неявний гостинець лють сильну.

A gift in secret pacifieth anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath.

Радість праведному правосуддя чинити, а злочинцеві страх.

It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

Людина, що зблуджує від путі розуму, у зборі померлих спочине.

The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.

Хто любить веселощі, той немаючий, хто любить вино та оливу, той не збагатіє.

He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.

Безбожний то викуп за праведного, а лукавий за щирого.

The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.

Ліпше сидіти в пустинній країні, ніж з сварливою та сердитою жінкою.

It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.

Скарб цінний та олива в мешканні премудрого, та нищить безумна людина його.

There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.

Хто женеться за праведністю та за милістю, той знаходить життя, справедливість та славу.

He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.

До міста хоробрих увійде премудрий, і твердиню надії його поруйнує.

A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof.

Хто стереже свої уста й свого язика, той душу свою зберігає від лиха.

Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

Надутий пихою насмішник ім'я йому, він робить усе із бундючним зухвальством.

Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath.

Пожадання лінивого вб'є його, бо руки його відмовляють робити,

The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.

він кожного дня пожадливо жадає, а справедливий дає та не жалує.

He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.

Жертва безбожних огида, а надто тоді, як за діло безчесне приноситься.

The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?

Свідок брехливий загине, а людина, що слухає Боже, говоритиме завжди.

A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.

Безбожна людина жорстока обличчям своїм, а невинний зміцняє дорогу свою.

A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way.

Нема мудрости, ані розуму, ані ради насупроти Господа.

There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.

Приготовлений кінь на день бою, але перемога від Господа!

The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.
