Proverbs 10

The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.

ذیل میں سلیمان کی امثال قلم بند ہیں۔ دانش مند بیٹا اپنے باپ کو خوشی دلاتا جبکہ احمق بیٹا اپنی ماں کو دُکھ پہنچاتا ہے۔

Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.

خزانوں کا کوئی فائدہ نہیں اگر وہ بےدین طریقوں سے جمع ہو گئے ہوں، لیکن راست بازی موت سے بچائے رکھتی ہے۔

The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.

رب راست باز کو بھوکوں مرنے نہیں دیتا، لیکن بےدینوں کا لالچ روک دیتا ہے۔

He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

ڈھیلے ہاتھ غربت اور محنتی ہاتھ دولت کی طرف لے جاتے ہیں۔

He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.

جو گرمیوں میں فصل جمع کرتا ہے وہ دانش مند بیٹا ہے جبکہ جو فصل کی کٹائی کے وقت سویا رہتا ہے وہ والدین کے لئے شرم کا باعث ہے۔

Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

راست باز کا سر برکت کے تاج سے آراستہ رہتا ہے جبکہ بےدینوں کے منہ پر ظلم کا پردہ پڑا رہتا ہے۔

The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.

لوگ راست باز کو یاد کر کے اُسے مبارک کہتے ہیں، لیکن بےدین کا نام سڑ کر مٹ جائے گا۔

The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.

جو دل سے دانش مند ہے وہ احکام قبول کرتا ہے، لیکن بکواسی تباہ ہو جائے گا۔

He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.

جس کا چال چلن بےالزام ہے وہ سکون سے زندگی گزارتا ہے، لیکن جو ٹیڑھا راستہ اختیار کرے اُسے پکڑا جائے گا۔

He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.

آنکھ مارنے والا دُکھ پہنچاتا ہے، اور بکواسی تباہ ہو جائے گا۔

The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

راست باز کا منہ زندگی کا سرچشمہ ہے، لیکن بےدین کے منہ پر ظلم کا پردہ پڑا رہتا ہے۔

Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

نفرت جھگڑے چھیڑتی رہتی جبکہ محبت تمام خطاؤں پر پردہ ڈال دیتی ہے۔

In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.

سمجھ دار کے ہونٹوں پر حکمت پائی جاتی ہے، لیکن ناسمجھ صرف ڈنڈے کا پیغام سمجھتا ہے۔

Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.

دانش مند اپنا علم محفوظ رکھتے ہیں، لیکن احمق کا منہ جلد ہی تباہی کی طرف لے جاتا ہے۔

The rich man's wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty.

امیر کی دولت قلعہ بند شہر ہے جس میں وہ محفوظ ہے جبکہ غریب کی غربت اُس کی تباہی کا باعث ہے۔

The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.

جو کچھ راست باز کما لیتا ہے وہ زندگی کا باعث ہے، لیکن بےدین اپنی روزی گناہ کرنے کے لئے استعمال کرتا ہے۔

He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.

جو تربیت قبول کرے وہ دوسروں کو زندگی کی راہ پر لاتا ہے، جو نصیحت نظرانداز کرے وہ دوسروں کو صحیح راہ سے دُور لے جاتا ہے۔

He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.

جو اپنی نفرت چھپائے رکھے وہ جھوٹ بولتا ہے، جو دوسروں کے بارے میں غلط خبریں پھیلائے وہ احمق ہے۔

In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.

جہاں بہت باتیں کی جاتی ہیں وہاں گناہ بھی آ موجود ہوتا ہے، جو اپنی زبان کو قابو میں رکھے وہ دانش مند ہے۔

The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.

راست باز کی زبان عمدہ چاندی ہے جبکہ بےدین کے دل کی کوئی قدر نہیں۔

The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.

راست باز کی زبان بہتوں کی پرورش کرتی ہے ، لیکن احمق اپنی بےعقلی کے باعث ہلاک ہو جاتے ہیں۔

The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

رب کی برکت دولت کا باعث ہے، ہماری اپنی محنت مشقت اِس میں اضافہ نہیں کرتی۔

It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.

احمق غلط کام سے اپنا دل بہلاتا، لیکن سمجھ دار حکمت سے لطف اندوز ہوتا ہے۔

The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.

جس چیز سے بےدین دہشت کھاتا ہے وہی اُس پر آئے گی، لیکن راست باز کی آرزو پوری ہو جائے گی۔

As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.

جب طوفان آتے ہیں تو بےدین کا نام و نشان مٹ جاتا جبکہ راست باز ہمیشہ تک قائم رہتا ہے۔

As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.

جس طرح دانت سرکے سے اور آنکھیں دھوئیں سے تنگ آ جاتی ہیں اُسی طرح وہ تنگ آ جاتا ہے جو سُست آدمی سے کام کرواتا ہے۔

The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

جو رب کا خوف مانے اُس کی زندگی کے دنوں میں اضافہ ہوتا ہے جبکہ بےدین کی زندگی وقت سے پہلے ہی ختم ہو جاتی ہے۔

The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

راست باز آخرکار خوشی منائیں گے، کیونکہ اُن کی اُمید بر آئے گی۔ لیکن بےدینوں کی اُمید جاتی رہے گی۔

The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

رب کی راہ بےالزام شخص کے لئے پناہ گاہ، لیکن بدکار کے لئے تباہی کا باعث ہے۔

The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.

راست باز کبھی ڈانواں ڈول نہیں ہو گا، لیکن بےدین ملک میں آباد نہیں رہیں گے۔

The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.

راست باز کا منہ حکمت کا پھل لاتا رہتا ہے، لیکن کج گو زبان کو کاٹ ڈالا جائے گا۔

The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.

راست باز کے ہونٹ جانتے ہیں کہ اللہ کو کیا پسند ہے، لیکن بےدین کا منہ ٹیڑھی باتیں ہی جانتا ہے۔
