Proverbs 10

The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.

Παροιμιαι Σολομωντος. Υιος σοφος ευφραινει πατερα υιος δε αφρων ειναι λυπη της μητρος αυτου.

Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.

Οι θησαυροι της ανομιας δεν ωφελουσιν η δε δικαιοσυνη ελευθερονει εκ θανατου.

The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.

Ο Κυριος δεν θελει λιμοκτονησει ψυχην δικαιου ανατρεπει δε την περιουσιαν των ασεβων.

He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

Η οκνηρα χειρ πτωχειαν φερει πλουτιζει δε η χειρ του επιμελους.

He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.

Ο συναγων εν τω θερει ειναι υιος συνεσεως ο δε κοιμωμενος εν τω θερισμω υιος αισχυνης.

Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

Ευλογια επι την κεφαλην του δικαιου το στομα δε των ασεβων αδικια καλυπτει.

The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.

Η μνημη του δικαιου ειναι μετ ευλογιας το δε ονομα των ασεβων σηπεται.

The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.

Ο σοφος την καρδιαν θελει δεχεσθαι εντολας ο δε μωρος τα χειλη θελει υποσκελισθη.

He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.

Ο περιπατων εν ακεραιοτητι περιπατει ασφαλως ο δε διαστρεφων τας οδους αυτου θελει γνωρισθη.

He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.

Οστις νευει δια του οφθαλμου, προξενει οδυνην ο δε μωρος τα χειλη θελει υποσκελισθη.

The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

Το στομα του δικαιου ειναι πηγη ζωης το στομα δε των ασεβων αδικια καλυπτει.

Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

Το μισος διεγειρει εριδας αλλ η αγαπη καλυπτει παντα τα σφαλματα.

In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.

Εις τα χειλη του συνετου ευρισκεται η σοφια η δε ραβδος ειναι δια την ραχιν του ενδεους φρενων.

Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.

Οι σοφοι αποταμιευουσι γνωσιν το στομα δε του προπετους ειναι πλησιον απωλειας.

The rich man's wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty.

Τα αγαθα του πλουσιου ειναι η οχυρα αυτου πολις καταστροφη δε των πενητων πτωχεια αυτων.

The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.

Τα εργα του δικαιου ειναι εις ζωην το προιον του ασεβους εις αμαρτιαν.

He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.

Ο φυλαττων την παιδειαν ευρισκεται εν οδω ζωης ο δε εγκαταλειπων τον ελεγχον αποπλαναται.

He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.

Οστις καλυπτει μισος υπο χειλη ψευδη, και οστις προφερει συκοφαντιαν, ειναι αφρων.

In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.

Εν τη πολυλογια δεν λειπει αμαρτια αλλ οστις κρατει τα χειλη αυτου, ειναι συνετος.

The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.

Η γλωσσα του δικαιου αργυριον εκλεκτον η καρδια των ασεβων πραγμα μηδαμινον.

The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.

Τα χειλη του δικαιου βοσκουσι πολλους οι δε αφρονες αποθνησκουσι δι ελλειψιν φρενων.

The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

Η ευλογια του Κυριου πλουτιζει, και λυπη δεν θελει προστεθη εις αυτην.

It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.

Ως γελως ειναι εις τον αφρονα να πραττη κακον η δε σοφια ειναι ανδρος συνετου.

The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.

Ο φοβος του ασεβους θελει επελθει επ αυτον η επιθυμια δε των δικαιων θελει εκπληρωθη.

As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.

Καθως παρερχεται ο ανεμοστροβιλος, ουτως ο ασεβης δεν υπαρχει ο δε δικαιος θελει εισθαι τεθεμελιωμενος εις τον αιωνα.

As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.

Καθως το οξος εις τους οδοντας και ο καπνος εις τους οφθαλμους, ουτως ειναι ο οκνηρος εις τους αποστελλοντας αυτον.

The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

Ο φοβος του Κυριου προσθετει ημερας τα δε ετη των ασεβων θελουσιν ελαττωθη.

The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

Η προσδοκια των δικαιων θελει εισθαι ευφροσυνη η ελπις ομως των ασεβων θελει απολεσθη.

The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

Η οδος του Κυριου ειναι οχυρωμα εις τον αμεμπτον, ολεθρος δε εις τους εργατας της ανομιας.

The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.

Ο δικαιος εις τον αιωνα δεν θελει σαλευθη οι δε ασεβεις δεν θελουσι κατοικησει την γην.

The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.

Το στομα του δικαιου αναδιδει σοφιαν η δε ψευδης γλωσσα θελει εκκοπη.

The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.

Τα χειλη του δικαιου γνωριζουσι το ευχαριστον το στομα δε των ασεβων τα διεστραμμενα.
