Proverbs 29

He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

جو متعدد نصیحتوں کے باوجود ہٹ دھرم رہے وہ اچانک ہی برباد ہو جائے گا، اور شفا کا امکان ہی نہیں ہو گا۔

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

جب راست باز بہت ہیں تو قوم خوش ہوتی، لیکن جب بےدین حکومت کرے تو قوم آہیں بھرتی ہے۔

Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.

جسے حکمت پیاری ہو وہ اپنے باپ کو خوشی دلاتا ہے، لیکن کسبیوں کا ساتھی اپنی دولت اُڑا دیتا ہے۔

The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.

بادشاہ انصاف سے ملک کو مستحکم کرتا، لیکن حد سے زیادہ ٹیکس لینے سے اُسے تباہ کرتا ہے۔

A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.

جو اپنے پڑوسی کی چاپلوسی کرے وہ اُس کے قدموں کے آگے جال بچھاتا ہے۔

In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.

شریر جرم کرتے وقت اپنے آپ کو پھنسا دیتا، لیکن راست باز خوشی منا کر شادمان رہتا ہے۔

The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.

راست باز پست حالوں کے حقوق کا خیال رکھتا ہے، لیکن بےدین پروا ہی نہیں کرتا۔

Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.

طعنہ زن شہر میں افرا تفری مچا دیتے جبکہ دانش مند غصہ ٹھنڈا کر دیتے ہیں۔

If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.

جب دانش مند آدمی عدالت میں احمق سے لڑے تو احمق طیش میں آ جاتا یا قہقہہ لگاتا ہے، سکون کا امکان ہی نہیں ہوتا۔

The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.

خوں خوار آدمی بےالزام شخص سے نفرت کرتا، لیکن سیدھی راہ پر چلنے والا اُس کی بہتری چاہتا ہے۔

A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.

احمق اپنا پورا غصہ اُتارتا، لیکن دانش مند اُسے روک کر قابو میں رکھتا ہے۔

If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked.

جو حکمران جھوٹ پر دھیان دے اُس کے تمام ملازم بےدین ہوں گے۔

The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD lighteneth both their eyes.

جب غریب اور ظالم کی ملاقات ہوتی ہے تو دونوں کی آنکھوں کو روشن کرنے والا رب ہی ہے۔

The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.

جو بادشاہ دیانت داری سے ضرورت مند کی عدالت کرے اُس کا تخت ہمیشہ تک قائم رہے گا۔

The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.

چھڑی اور نصیحت حکمت پیدا کرتی ہیں۔ جسے بےلگام چھوڑا جائے وہ اپنی ماں کے لئے شرمندگی کا باعث ہو گا۔

When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.

جب بےدین پھلیں پھولیں تو گناہ بھی پھلتا پھولتا ہے، لیکن راست باز اُن کی شکست کے گواہ ہوں گے۔

Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.

اپنے بیٹے کو تربیت دے تو وہ تجھے سکون اور خوشی دلائے گا۔

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

جہاں رویا نہیں وہاں قوم بےلگام ہو جاتی ہے، لیکن مبارک ہے وہ جو شریعت کے تابع رہتا ہے۔

A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.

نوکر صرف الفاظ سے نہیں سدھرتا۔ اگر وہ بات سمجھے بھی توبھی دھیان نہیں دے گا۔

Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

کیا کوئی دکھائی دیتا ہے جو بات کرنے میں جلدباز ہے؟ اُس کی نسبت احمق کے سدھرنے کی زیادہ اُمید ہے۔

He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.

جو غلام جوانی سے ناز و نعمت میں پل کر بگڑ جائے اُس کا بُرا انجام ہو گا۔

An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.

غضب آلود آدمی جھگڑے چھیڑتا رہتا ہے، غصیلے شخص سے متعدد گناہ سرزد ہوتے ہیں۔

A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

تکبر اپنے مالک کو پست کر دے گا جبکہ فروتن شخص عزت پائے گا۔

Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not.

جو چور کا ساتھی ہو وہ اپنی جان سے نفرت رکھتا ہے۔ گو اُس سے حلف اُٹھوایا جائے کہ چوری کے بارے میں گواہی دے توبھی کچھ نہیں بتاتا بلکہ حلف کی لعنت کی زد میں آ جاتا ہے۔

The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

جو انسان سے خوف کھائے وہ پھندے میں پھنس جائے گا، لیکن جو رب کا خوف مانے وہ محفوظ رہے گا۔

Many seek the ruler's favour; but every man's judgment cometh from the LORD.

بہت لوگ حکمران کی منظوری کے طالب رہتے ہیں، لیکن انصاف رب ہی کی طرف سے ملتا ہے۔

An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.

راست باز بدکار سے اور بےدین سیدھی راہ پر چلنے والے سے گھن کھاتا ہے۔
