Ephesians 5

Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

Bądźcież tedy naśladowcami Bożymi, jako dzieci miłe;

And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

A chodźcie w miłości, jako i Chrystus umiłował nas i wydał samego siebie na ofiarę i na zabicie Bogu ku wdzięcznej wonności.

But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

A wszeteczeństwo i wszelka nieczystość albo łakomstwo niechaj nie będzie ani mianowane między wami, jako przystoi na świętych.

Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

Także sprośność i błazeńskie mowy, i żarty, które nie przystoją, ale raczej dziękowanie.

For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Bo to wiecie, iż żaden wszetecznik, albo nieczysty, albo łakomca, (który jest bałwochwalcą), nie ma dziedzictwa w królestwie Chrystusowem i Bożem.

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

Niechaj was nikt nie zwodzi próżnemi mowami; albowiem dla tych rzeczy przychodzi gniew Boży na synów upornych;

Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

Nie bądźcież tedy uczestnikami ich.

For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

Albowiemeście byli niekiedy ciemnością; aleście teraz światłością w Panu; chodźcież jako dziatki światłości,

(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

(Bo owoc Ducha zależy we wszelakiej dobrotliwości i w sprawiedliwości i w prawdzie.)

Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

Obierając to, co by się podobało Panu;

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

A nie spółkujcie z uczynkami niepożytecznemi ciemności, ale je raczej strofujcie.

For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

Albowiem co się potajemnie od nich dzieje, sromota i mówić.

But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

Lecz to wszystko, gdy bywa od światłości strofowane, bywa objawione; albowiem to wszystko, co bywa objawione, jest światłością;

Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

Dlatego mówi Pismo: Ocuć się, który śpisz i powstań od umarłych, a oświeci cię Chrystus.

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

Patrzajcie tedy, jakobyście ostrożnie chodzili, nie jako niemądrzy, ale jako mądrzy.

Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Czas odkupując; bo dni złe są.

Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

Przetoż nie bądźcie nierozumnymi, ale zrozumiewającymi, która jest wola Pańska.

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

A nie upijajcie się winem, w którem jest rozpusta; ale bądźcie napełnieni duchem,

Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

Rozmawiając z sobą przez psalmy i hymny, i pieśni duchowne, śpiewając i grając w sercu swojem Panu,

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Dzięki czyniąc zawsze za wszystko, w imieniu Pana naszego, Jezusa Chrystusa, Bogu i Ojcu.

Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

Będąc poddani jedni drugim w bojaźni Bożej.

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

Żony! bądźcie poddane mężom swoim, jako Panu;

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

Albowiem mąż jest głową żony, jako i Chrystus głową kościoła; a on jest zbawicielem ciała.

Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

Jako tedy kościół poddany jest Chrystusowi, tak też żony mężom swoim we wszystkiem.

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Mężowie! miłujcie żony wasze, jako i Chrystus umiłował kościół i wydał samego siebie za niego,

That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

Aby go poświęcił, oczyściwszy omyciem wody przez słowo;

That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Aby go sobie wystawił chwalebnym kościołem, nie mającym zmazy albo zmarszczku, albo czego takiego, ale iżby był święty i bez nagany.

So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

Tak powinni mężowie miłować żony swoje, jako swoje własne ciała; kto miłuje żonę swoję, samego siebie miłuje.

For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

Albowiem żaden nigdy ciała swego nie miał w nienawiści, ale je żywi i ogrzewa, jako i Pan kościół.

For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

Gdyżeśmy członkami ciała jego, z ciała jego i z kości jego.

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

Dlatego opuści człowiek ojca swego i matkę, i przyłączy się do żony swojej, i będą dwoje jednem ciałem.

This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

Tajemnica to wielka jest; lecz ja mówię o Chrystusie i o kościele.

Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

A wszakże i każdy z was z osobna niechaj miłuje żonę swoję jako siebie samego, a żona niech się boi męża swego.
