Proverbs 8

سنو! کیا حکمت آواز نہیں دیتی؟ ہاں، سمجھ اونچی آواز سے اعلان کرتی ہے۔

Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?

وہ بلندیوں پر کھڑی ہے، اُس جگہ جہاں تمام راستے ایک دوسرے سے ملتے ہیں۔

She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.

شہر کے دروازوں پر جہاں لوگ نکلتے اور داخل ہوتے ہیں وہاں حکمت زوردار آواز سے پکارتی ہے،

She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.

”اے مردو، مَیں تم ہی کو پکارتی ہوں، تمام انسانوں کو آواز دیتی ہوں۔

Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.

اے سادہ لوحو، ہوشیاری سیکھ لو! اے احمقو، سمجھ اپنا لو!

O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.

سنو، کیونکہ مَیں شرافت کی باتیں کرتی ہوں، اور میرے ہونٹ سچائی پیش کرتے ہیں۔

Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.

میرا منہ سچ بولتا ہے، کیونکہ میرے ہونٹ بےدینی سے گھن کھاتے ہیں۔

For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

جو بھی بات میرے منہ سے نکلے وہ راست ہے، ایک بھی پیچ دار یا ٹیڑھی نہیں ہے۔

All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.

سمجھ دار جانتا ہے کہ میری باتیں سب درست ہیں، علم رکھنے والے کو معلوم ہے کہ وہ صحیح ہیں۔

They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.

چاندی کی جگہ میری تربیت اور خالص سونے کے بجائے علم و عرفان اپنا لو۔

Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.

کیونکہ حکمت موتیوں سے کہیں بہتر ہے، کوئی بھی خزانہ اُس کا مقابلہ نہیں کر سکتا۔

For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

مَیں جو حکمت ہوں ہوشیاری کے ساتھ بستی ہوں، اور مَیں تمیز کا علم رکھتی ہوں۔

I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.

جو رب کا خوف مانتا ہے وہ بُرائی سے نفرت کرتا ہے۔ مجھے غرور، تکبر، غلط چال چلن اور ٹیڑھی باتوں سے نفرت ہے۔

The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

میرے پاس اچھا مشورہ اور کامیابی ہے۔ میرا دوسرا نام سمجھ ہے، اور مجھے قوت حاصل ہے۔

Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.

میرے وسیلے سے بادشاہ سلطنت اور حکمران راست فیصلے کرتے ہیں۔

By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.

میرے ذریعے رئیس اور شرفا بلکہ تمام عادل منصف حکومت کرتے ہیں۔

By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.

جو مجھے پیار کرتے ہیں اُنہیں مَیں پیار کرتی ہوں، اور جو مجھے ڈھونڈتے ہیں وہ مجھے پا لیتے ہیں۔

I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

میرے پاس عزت و دولت، شاندار مال اور راستی ہے۔

Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.

میرا پھل سونے بلکہ خالص سونے سے کہیں بہتر ہے، میری پیداوار خالص چاندی پر سبقت رکھتی ہے۔

My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.

مَیں راستی کی راہ پر ہی چلتی ہوں، وہیں جہاں انصاف ہے۔

I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:

جو مجھ سے محبت رکھتے ہیں اُنہیں مَیں میراث میں دولت مہیا کرتی ہوں۔ اُن کے گودام بھرے رہتے ہیں۔

That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.

جب رب تخلیق کا سلسلہ عمل میں لایا تو پہلے اُس نے مجھے ہی بنایا۔ قدیم زمانے میں مَیں اُس کے دیگر کاموں سے پہلے ہی وجود میں آئی۔

The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

مجھے ازل سے مقرر کیا گیا، ابتدا ہی سے جب دنیا ابھی پیدا نہیں ہوئی تھی۔

I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

نہ سمندر کی گہرائیاں، نہ کثرت سے پھوٹنے والے چشمے تھے جب مَیں نے جنم لیا۔

When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.

نہ پہاڑ اپنی اپنی جگہ پر قائم ہوئے تھے، نہ پہاڑیاں تھیں جب مَیں پیدا ہوئی۔

Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:

اُس وقت اللہ نے نہ زمین، نہ اُس کے میدان، اور نہ دنیا کے پہلے ڈھیلے بنائے تھے۔

While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.

جب اُس نے آسمان کو اُس کی جگہ پر لگایا اور سمندر کی گہرائیوں پر زمین کا علاقہ مقرر کیا تو مَیں ساتھ تھی۔

When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:

جب اُس نے آسمان پر بادلوں اور گہرائیوں میں سرچشموں کا انتظام مضبوط کیا تو مَیں ساتھ تھی۔

When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:

جب اُس نے سمندر کی حدیں مقرر کیں اور حکم دیا کہ پانی اُن سے تجاوز نہ کرے، جب اُس نے زمین کی بنیادیں اپنی اپنی جگہ پر رکھیں

When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

تو مَیں ماہر کاری گر کی حیثیت سے اُس کے ساتھ تھی۔ روز بہ روز مَیں لطف کا باعث تھی، ہر وقت اُس کے حضور رنگ رلیاں مناتی رہی۔

Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;

مَیں اُس کی زمین کی سطح پر رنگ رلیاں مناتی اور انسان سے لطف اندوز ہوتی رہی۔

Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

چنانچہ میرے بیٹو، میری سنو، کیونکہ مبارک ہیں وہ جو میری راہوں پر چلتے ہیں۔

Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.

میری تربیت مان کر دانش مند بن جاؤ، اُسے نظرانداز مت کرنا۔

Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.

مبارک ہے وہ جو میری سنے، جو روز بہ روز میرے دروازے پر چوکس کھڑا رہے، روزانہ میری چوکھٹ پر حاضر رہے۔

Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

کیونکہ جو مجھے پائے وہ زندگی اور رب کی منظوری پاتا ہے۔

For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.

لیکن جو مجھے پانے سے قاصر رہے وہ اپنی جان پر ظلم کرتا ہے، جو بھی مجھ سے نفرت کرے اُسے موت پیاری ہے۔“

But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
