Proverbs 7

My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.

Сине мой, пази думите ми и съхранявай заповедите ми при себе си.

Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

Пази заповедите ми и живей, и закона ми — като зеницата на окото си.

Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.

Вържи ги на пръстите си, напиши ги на плочата на сърцето си.

Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:

Кажи на мъдростта: Ти си ми сестра! — и наречи разума сродник,

That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.

за да те пази от чужда жена, от чужденката, която ласкае с думите си.

For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,

Понеже погледнах през решетката си на прозореца на къщата си

And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,

и видях между неопитните, забелязах между синовете един млад човек, лишен от ум,

Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,

който минаваше по улицата близо до нейния ъгъл и вървеше по пътя към нейната къща

In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:

в дрезгавината, при свечеряването, в мрака на нощта и в тъмнината.

And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.

И ето, една жена го посрещна, облечена като блудница и с коварно сърце,

(She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:

размирна и необуздана, краката й не се спират вкъщи,

Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)

кога навън, кога по площадите, причаква на всеки ъгъл.

So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,

И тя го хвана и го целуна, и с безсрамно лице му каза:

I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.

Длъжна бях да принеса примирителни жертви, днес изпълних обреците си,

Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.

затова излязох да те посрещна, да потърся лицето ти и те намерих.

I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.

Постлала съм леглото си с покривки, с покривки от пъстра египетска прежда,

I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

покадила съм леглото си със смирна, алое и канела.

Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.

Ела, нека се опиваме с любов до зори, нека се наслаждаваме с милувки,

For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:

защото мъжът ми не е у дома си, замина на дълъг път,

He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.

взе кесия с пари в ръката си и чак на пълнолуние ще се върне у дома.

With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

С многото си увещания тя го подмами, с ласкателните си устни го отвлече.

He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

Той веднага тръгна след нея, както вол отива на клане, както безумен в окови за наказание,

Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.

докато стрела прониже дроба му, както птица бърза към примката, без да знае, че това ще й струва живота.

Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.

И така, синове, послушайте ме и внимавайте в думите на устата ми.

Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.

Да не се отклонява сърцето ти към нейните пътища, не се заблуждавай в пътеките й,

For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.

защото мнозина е повалила ранени и силни са всичките убити от нея.

Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

Домът й е пътища към Шеол и води надолу към клетките на смъртта.
