Psalms 68

Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.

داؤد کا زبور۔ موسیقی کے راہنما کے لئے گیت۔ اللہ اُٹھے تو اُس کے دشمن تتر بتر ہو جائیں گے، اُس سے نفرت کرنے والے اُس کے سامنے سے بھاگ جائیں گے۔

As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

وہ دھوئیں کی طرح بکھر جائیں گے۔ جس طرح موم آگ کے سامنے پگھل جاتا ہے اُسی طرح بےدین اللہ کے حضور ہلاک ہو جائیں گے۔

But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.

لیکن راست باز خوش و خرم ہوں گے، وہ اللہ کے حضور جشن منا کر پھولے نہ سمائیں گے۔

Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.

اللہ کی تعظیم میں گیت گاؤ، اُس کے نام کی مدح سرائی کرو! جو رتھ پر سوار بیابان میں سے گزر رہا ہے اُس کے لئے راستہ تیار کرو۔ رب اُس کا نام ہے، اُس کے حضور خوشی مناؤ!

A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

اللہ اپنی مُقدّس سکونت گاہ میں یتیموں کا باپ اور بیواؤں کا حامی ہے۔

God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

اللہ بےگھروں کو گھروں میں بسا دیتا اور قیدیوں کو قید سے نکال کر خوش حالی عطا کرتا ہے۔ لیکن جو سرکش ہیں وہ جُھلسے ہوئے ملک میں رہیں گے۔

O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah:

اے اللہ، جب تُو اپنی قوم کے آگے آگے نکلا، جب تُو ریگستان میں قدم بہ قدم آگے بڑھا (سِلاہ)

The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

تو زمین لرز اُٹھی اور آسمان سے بارش ٹپکنے لگی۔ ہاں، اللہ کے حضور جو کوہِ سینا اور اسرائیل کا خدا ہے ایسا ہی ہوا۔

Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.

اے اللہ، تُو نے کثرت کی بارش برسنے دی۔ جب کبھی تیرا موروثی ملک نڈھال ہوا تو تُو نے اُسے تازہ دم کیا۔

Thy congregation hath dwelt therein: thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor.

یوں تیری قوم اُس میں آباد ہوئی۔ اے اللہ، اپنی بھلائی سے تُو نے اُسے ضرورت مندوں کے لئے تیار کیا۔

The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.

رب فرمان صادر کرتا ہے تو خوش خبری سنانے والی عورتوں کا بڑا لشکر نکلتا ہے،

Kings of armies did flee apace: and she that tarried at home divided the spoil.

”فوجوں کے بادشاہ بھاگ رہے ہیں۔ وہ بھاگ رہے ہیں اور عورتیں لُوٹ کا مال تقسیم کر رہی ہیں۔

Though ye have lien among the pots, yet shall ye be as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold.

تم کیوں اپنے زِین کے دو بوروں کے درمیان بیٹھے رہتے ہو؟ دیکھو، کبوتر کے پَروں پر چاندی اور اُس کے شاہ پَروں پر پیلا سونا چڑھایا گیا ہے۔“

When the Almighty scattered kings in it, it was white as snow in Salmon.

جب قادرِ مطلق نے وہاں کے بادشاہوں کو منتشر کر دیا تو کوہِ ضلمون پر برف پڑی۔

The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan; an high hill as the hill of Bashan.

کوہِ بسن الٰہی پہاڑ ہے، کوہِ بسن کی متعدد چوٹیاں ہیں۔

Why leap ye, ye high hills? this is the hill which God desireth to dwell in; yea, the LORD will dwell in it for ever.

اے پہاڑ کی متعدد چوٹیو، تم اُس پہاڑ کو کیوں رشک کی نگاہ سے دیکھتی ہو جسے اللہ نے اپنی سکونت گاہ کے لئے پسند کیا ہے؟ یقیناً رب وہاں ہمیشہ کے لئے سکونت کرے گا۔

The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place.

اللہ کے بےشمار رتھ اور اَن گنت فوجی ہیں۔ خداوند اُن کے درمیان ہے، سینا کا خدا مقدِس میں ہے۔

Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them.

تُو نے بلندی پر چڑھ کر قیدیوں کا ہجوم گرفتار کر لیا، تجھے انسانوں سے تحفے ملے، اُن سے بھی جو سرکش ہو گئے تھے۔ یوں ہی رب خدا وہاں سکونت پذیر ہوا۔

Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.

رب کی تمجید ہو جو روز بہ روز ہمارا بوجھ اُٹھائے چلتا ہے۔ اللہ ہماری نجات ہے۔ (سِلاہ)

He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death.

ہمارا خدا وہ خدا ہے جو ہمیں بار بار نجات دیتا ہے، رب قادرِ مطلق ہمیں بار بار موت سے بچنے کے راستے مہیا کرتا ہے۔

But God shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses.

یقیناً اللہ اپنے دشمنوں کے سروں کو کچل دے گا۔ جو اپنے گناہوں سے باز نہیں آتا اُس کی کھوپڑی وہ پاش پاش کرے گا۔

The Lord said, I will bring again from Bashan, I will bring my people again from the depths of the sea:

رب نے فرمایا، ”مَیں اُنہیں بسن سے واپس لاؤں گا، سمندر کی گہرائیوں سے واپس پہنچاؤں گا۔

That thy foot may be dipped in the blood of thine enemies, and the tongue of thy dogs in the same.

تب تُو اپنے پاؤں کو دشمن کے خون میں دھو لے گا، اور تیرے کُتے اُسے چاٹ لیں گے۔“

They have seen thy goings, O God; even the goings of my God, my King, in the sanctuary.

اے اللہ، تیرے جلوس نظر آ گئے ہیں، میرے خدا اور بادشاہ کے جلوس مقدِس میں داخل ہوتے ہوئے نظر آ گئے ہیں۔

The singers went before, the players on instruments followed after; among them were the damsels playing with timbrels.

آگے گلوکار، پھر ساز بجانے والے چل رہے ہیں۔ اُن کے آس پاس کنواریاں دف بجاتے ہوئے پھر رہی ہیں۔

Bless ye God in the congregations, even the Lord, from the fountain of Israel.

”جماعتوں میں اللہ کی ستائش کرو! جتنے بھی اسرائیل کے سرچشمے سے نکلے ہوئے ہو رب کی تمجید کرو!“

There is little Benjamin with their ruler, the princes of Judah and their council, the princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali.

وہاں سب سے چھوٹا بھائی بن یمین آگے چل رہا ہے، پھر یہوداہ کے بزرگوں کا پُرشور ہجوم زبولون اور نفتالی کے بزرگوں کے ساتھ چل رہا ہے۔

Thy God hath commanded thy strength: strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.

اے اللہ، اپنی قدرت برُوئے کار لا! اے اللہ، جو قدرت تُو نے پہلے بھی ہماری خاطر دکھائی اُسے دوبارہ دکھا!

Because of thy temple at Jerusalem shall kings bring presents unto thee.

اُسے یروشلم کے اوپر اپنی سکونت گاہ سے دکھا۔ تب بادشاہ تیرے حضور تحفے لائیں گے۔

Rebuke the company of spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the people, till every one submit himself with pieces of silver: scatter thou the people that delight in war.

سرکنڈوں میں چھپے ہوئے درندے کو ملامت کر! سانڈوں کا جو غول بچھڑوں جیسی قوموں میں رہتا ہے اُسے ڈانٹ! اُنہیں کچل دے جو چاندی کو پیار کرتے ہیں۔ اُن قوموں کو منتشر کر جو جنگ کرنے سے لطف اندوز ہوتی ہیں۔

Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God.

مصر سے سفیر آئیں گے، ایتھوپیا اپنے ہاتھ اللہ کی طرف اُٹھائے گا۔

Sing unto God, ye kingdoms of the earth; O sing praises unto the Lord; Selah:

اے دنیا کی سلطنتو، اللہ کی تعظیم میں گیت گاؤ! رب کی مدح سرائی کرو (سِلاہ)

To him that rideth upon the heavens of heavens, which were of old; lo, he doth send out his voice, and that a mighty voice.

جو اپنے رتھ پر سوار ہو کر قدیم زمانے کے بلندترین آسمانوں میں سے گزرتا ہے۔ سنو اُس کی آواز جو زور سے گرج رہا ہے۔

Ascribe ye strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds.

اللہ کی قدرت کو تسلیم کرو! اُس کی عظمت اسرائیل پر چھائی رہتی اور اُس کی قدرت آسمان پر ہے۔

O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy places: the God of Israel is he that giveth strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God.

اے اللہ، تُو اپنے مقدِس سے ظاہر ہوتے وقت کتنا مہیب ہے۔ اسرائیل کا خدا ہی قوم کو قوت اور طاقت عطا کرتا ہے۔ اللہ کی تمجید ہو!
