Psalms 104

Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.

اے میری جان، رب کی ستائش کر! اے رب میرے خدا، تُو نہایت ہی عظیم ہے، تُو جاہ و جلال سے آراستہ ہے۔

Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:

تیری چادر نور ہے جسے تُو اوڑھے رہتا ہے۔ تُو آسمان کو خیمے کی طرح تان کر

Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:

اپنا بالاخانہ اُس کے پانی کے بیچ میں تعمیر کرتا ہے۔ بادل تیرا رتھ ہے، اور تُو ہَوا کے پَروں پر سوار ہوتا ہے۔

Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:

تُو ہَواؤں کو اپنے قاصد اور آگ کے شعلوں کو اپنے خادم بنا دیتا ہے۔

Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.

تُو نے زمین کو مضبوط بنیاد پر رکھا تاکہ وہ کبھی نہ ڈگمگائے۔

Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.

سیلاب نے اُسے لباس کی طرح ڈھانپ دیا، اور پانی پہاڑوں کے اوپر ہی کھڑا ہوا۔

At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.

لیکن تیرے ڈانٹنے پر پانی فرار ہوا، تیری گرجتی آواز سن کر وہ ایک دم بھاگ گیا۔

They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.

تب پہاڑ اونچے ہوئے اور وادیاں اُن جگہوں پر اُتر آئیں جو تُو نے اُن کے لئے مقرر کی تھیں۔

Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.

تُو نے ایک حد باندھی جس سے پانی بڑھ نہیں سکتا۔ آئندہ وہ کبھی پوری زمین کو نہیں ڈھانکنے کا۔

He sendeth the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills.

تُو وادیوں میں چشمے پھوٹنے دیتا ہے، اور وہ پہاڑوں میں سے بہہ نکلتے ہیں۔

They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst.

بہتے بہتے وہ کھلے میدان کے تمام جانوروں کو پانی پلاتے ہیں۔ جنگلی گدھے آ کر اپنی پیاس بجھاتے ہیں۔

By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches.

پرندے اُن کے کناروں پر بسیرا کرتے، اور اُن کی چہچہاتی آوازیں گھنے بیل بوٹوں میں سے سنائی دیتی ہیں۔

He watereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.

تُو اپنے بالاخانے سے پہاڑوں کو تر کرتا ہے، اور زمین تیرے ہاتھ سے سیر ہو کر ہر طرح کا پھل لاتی ہے۔

He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;

تُو جانوروں کے لئے گھاس پھوٹنے اور انسان کے لئے پودے اُگنے دیتا ہے تاکہ وہ زمین کی کاشت کاری کر کے روٹی حاصل کرے۔

And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart.

تیری مَے انسان کا دل خوش کرتی، تیرا تیل اُس کا چہرہ روشن کر دیتا، تیری روٹی اُس کا دل مضبوط کرتی ہے۔

The trees of the LORD are full of sap; the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;

رب کے درخت یعنی لبنان میں اُس کے لگائے ہوئے دیودار کے درخت سیراب رہتے ہیں۔

Where the birds make their nests: as for the stork, the fir trees are her house.

پرندے اُن میں اپنے گھونسلے بنا لیتے ہیں، اور لق لق جونیپر کے درخت میں اپنا آشیانہ۔

The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for the conies.

پہاڑوں کی بلندیوں پر پہاڑی بکروں کا راج ہے، چٹانوں میں بِجُو پناہ لیتے ہیں۔

He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.

تُو نے سال کو مہینوں میں تقسیم کرنے کے لئے چاند بنایا، اور سورج کو غروب ہونے کے اوقات معلوم ہیں۔

Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth.

تُو اندھیرا پھیلنے دیتا ہے تو دن ڈھل جاتا ہے اور جنگلی جانور حرکت میں آ جاتے ہیں۔

The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God.

جوان شیرببر دہاڑ کر شکار کے پیچھے پڑ جاتے اور اللہ سے اپنی خوراک کا مطالبہ کرتے ہیں۔

The sun ariseth, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens.

پھر سورج طلوع ہونے لگتا ہے، اور وہ کھسک کر اپنے بھٹوں میں چھپ جاتے ہیں۔

Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.

اُس وقت انسان گھر سے نکل کر اپنے کام میں لگ جاتا اور شام تک مصروف رہتا ہے۔

O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.

اے رب، تیرے اَن گنت کام کتنے عظیم ہیں! تُو نے ہر ایک کو حکمت سے بنایا، اور زمین تیری مخلوقات سے بھری پڑی ہے۔

So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts.

سمندر کو دیکھو، وہ کتنا بڑا اور وسیع ہے۔ اُس میں بےشمار جاندار ہیں، بڑے بھی اور چھوٹے بھی۔

There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein.

اُس کی سطح پر جہاز اِدھر اُدھر سفر کرتے ہیں، اُس کی گہرائیوں میں لِویاتان پھرتا ہے، وہ اژدہا جسے تُو نے اُس میں اُچھلنے کودنے کے لئے تشکیل دیا تھا۔

These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season.

سب تیرے انتظار میں رہتے ہیں کہ تُو اُنہیں وقت پر کھانا مہیا کرے۔

That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good.

تُو اُن میں خوراک تقسیم کرتا ہے تو وہ اُسے اکٹھا کرتے ہیں۔ تُو اپنی مٹھی کھولتا ہے تو وہ اچھی چیزوں سے سیر ہو جاتے ہیں۔

Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.

جب تُو اپنا چہرہ چھپا لیتا ہے تو اُن کے حواس گم ہو جاتے ہیں۔ جب تُو اُن کا دم نکال لیتا ہے تو وہ نیست ہو کر دوبارہ خاک میں مل جاتے ہیں۔

Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.

تُو اپنا دم بھیج دیتا ہے تو وہ پیدا ہو جاتے ہیں۔ تُو ہی رُوئے زمین کو بحال کرتا ہے۔

The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works.

رب کا جلال ابد تک قائم رہے! رب اپنے کام کی خوشی منائے!

He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke.

وہ زمین پر نظر ڈالتا ہے تو وہ لرز اُٹھتی ہے۔ وہ پہاڑوں کو چھو دیتا ہے تو وہ دھواں چھوڑتے ہیں۔

I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.

مَیں عمر بھر رب کی تمجید میں گیت گاؤں گا، جب تک زندہ ہوں اپنے خدا کی مدح سرائی کروں گا۔

My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.

میری بات اُسے پسند آئے! مَیں رب سے کتنا خوش ہوں!

Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise ye the LORD.

گناہ گار زمین سے مٹ جائیں اور بےدین نیست و نابود ہو جائیں۔ اے میری جان، رب کی ستائش کر! رب کی حمد ہو!
