Mark 10

And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judæa by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again.

پھر عیسیٰ اُس جگہ کو چھوڑ کر یہودیہ کے علاقے میں اور دریائے یردن کے پار چلا گیا۔ وہاں بھی ہجوم جمع ہو گیا۔ اُس نے اُنہیں معمول کے مطابق تعلیم دی۔

And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.

کچھ فریسی آئے اور اُسے پھنسانے کی غرض سے سوال کیا، ”کیا جائز ہے کہ مرد اپنی بیوی کو طلاق دے؟“

And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?

عیسیٰ نے اُن سے پوچھا، ”موسیٰ نے شریعت میں تم کو کیا ہدایت کی ہے؟“

And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.

اُنہوں نے کہا، ”اُس نے اجازت دی ہے کہ آدمی طلاق نامہ لکھ کر بیوی کو رُخصت کر دے۔“

And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.

عیسیٰ نے جواب دیا، ”موسیٰ نے تمہاری سخت دلی کی وجہ سے تمہارے لئے یہ حکم لکھا تھا۔

But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.

لیکن ابتدا میں ایسا نہیں تھا۔ دنیا کی تخلیق کے وقت اللہ نے اُنہیں مرد اور عورت بنایا۔

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;

’اِس لئے مرد اپنے ماں باپ کو چھوڑ کر اپنی بیوی کے ساتھ پیوست ہو جاتا ہے۔

And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.

وہ دونوں ایک ہو جاتے ہیں۔‘ یوں وہ کلامِ مُقدّس کے مطابق دو نہیں رہتے بلکہ ایک ہو جاتے ہیں۔

What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

تو جسے اللہ نے خود جوڑا ہے اُسے انسان جدا نہ کرے۔“

And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter.

کسی گھر میں آ کر شاگردوں نے یہ بات دوبارہ چھیڑ کر عیسیٰ سے مزید دریافت کیا۔

And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.

اُس نے اُنہیں بتایا، ”جو اپنی بیوی کو طلاق دے کر کسی اَور سے شادی کرے وہ اُس کے ساتھ زنا کرتا ہے۔

And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.

اور جو عورت اپنے خاوند کو طلاق دے کر کسی اَور سے شادی کرے وہ بھی زنا کرتی ہے۔“

And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.

ایک دن لوگ اپنے چھوٹے بچوں کو عیسیٰ کے پاس لائے تاکہ وہ اُنہیں چھوئے۔ لیکن شاگردوں نے اُن کو ملامت کی۔

But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

یہ دیکھ کر عیسیٰ ناراض ہوا۔ اُس نے اُن سے کہا، ”بچوں کو میرے پاس آنے دو اور اُنہیں نہ روکو، کیونکہ اللہ کی بادشاہی اِن جیسے لوگوں کو حاصل ہے۔

Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.

مَیں تم کو سچ بتاتا ہوں، جو اللہ کی بادشاہی کو بچے کی طرح قبول نہ کرے وہ اُس میں داخل نہیں ہو گا۔“

And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

یہ کہہ کر اُس نے اُنہیں گلے لگایا اور اپنے ہاتھ اُن پر رکھ کر اُنہیں برکت دی۔

And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?

جب عیسیٰ روانہ ہونے لگا تو ایک آدمی دوڑ کر اُس کے پاس آیا اور اُس کے سامنے گھٹنے ٹیک کر پوچھا، ”نیک اُستاد، مَیں کیا کروں تاکہ ابدی زندگی میراث میں پاؤں؟“

And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

عیسیٰ نے پوچھا، ”تُو مجھے نیک کیوں کہتا ہے؟ کوئی نیک نہیں سوائے ایک کے اور وہ ہے اللہ۔

Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.

تُو شریعت کے احکام سے تو واقف ہے۔ قتل نہ کرنا، زنا نہ کرنا، چوری نہ کرنا، جھوٹی گواہی نہ دینا، دھوکا نہ دینا، اپنے باپ اور اپنی ماں کی عزت کرنا۔“

And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.

آدمی نے جواب دیا، ”اُستاد، مَیں نے جوانی سے آج تک اِن تمام احکام کی پیروی کی ہے۔“

Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

عیسیٰ نے غور سے اُس کی طرف دیکھا۔ اُس کے دل میں اُس کے لئے پیار اُبھر آیا۔ وہ بولا، ”ایک کام رہ گیا ہے۔ جا، اپنی پوری جائیداد فروخت کر کے پیسے غریبوں میں تقسیم کر دے۔ پھر تیرے لئے آسمان پر خزانہ جمع ہو جائے گا۔ اِس کے بعد آ کر میرے پیچھے ہو لے۔“

And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.

یہ سن کر آدمی کا منہ لٹک گیا اور وہ مایوس ہو کر چلا گیا، کیونکہ وہ نہایت دولت مند تھا۔

And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!

عیسیٰ نے اپنے ارد گرد دیکھ کر شاگردوں سے کہا، ”دولت مندوں کے لئے اللہ کی بادشاہی میں داخل ہونا کتنا مشکل ہے!“

And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!

شاگرد اُس کے یہ الفاظ سن کر حیران ہوئے۔ لیکن عیسیٰ نے دوبارہ کہا، ”بچو! اللہ کی بادشاہی میں داخل ہونا کتنا مشکل ہے۔

It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

امیر کے اللہ کی بادشاہی میں داخل ہونے کی نسبت زیادہ آسان یہ ہے کہ اونٹ سوئی کے ناکے میں سے گزر جائے۔“

And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?

اِس پر شاگرد مزید حیرت زدہ ہوئے اور ایک دوسرے سے کہنے لگے، ”پھر کس کو نجات مل سکتی ہے؟“

And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

عیسیٰ نے غور سے اُن کی طرف دیکھ کر جواب دیا، ”یہ انسان کے لئے تو ناممکن ہے، لیکن اللہ کے لئے نہیں۔ اُس کے لئے سب کچھ ممکن ہے۔“

Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.

پھر پطرس بول اُٹھا، ”ہم تو اپنا سب کچھ چھوڑ کر آپ کے پیچھے ہو لئے ہیں۔“

And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,

عیسیٰ نے جواب دیا، ”مَیں تم کو سچ بتاتا ہوں، جس نے بھی میری اور اللہ کی خوش خبری کی خاطر اپنے گھر، بھائیوں، بہنوں، ماں، باپ، بچوں یا کھیتوں کو چھوڑ دیا ہے

But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

اُسے اِس زمانے میں ایذا رسانی کے ساتھ ساتھ سَو گُنا زیادہ گھر، بھائی، بہنیں، مائیں، بچے اور کھیت مل جائیں گے۔ اور آنے والے زمانے میں اُسے ابدی زندگی ملے گی۔

But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.

لیکن بہت سے لوگ جو اب اوّل ہیں اُس وقت آخر ہوں گے اور جو اب آخر ہیں وہ اوّل ہوں گے۔“

And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him,

اب وہ یروشلم کی طرف بڑھ رہے تھے اور عیسیٰ اُن کے آگے آگے چل رہا تھا۔ شاگرد حیرت زدہ تھے جبکہ اُن کے پیچھے چلنے والے لوگ سہمے ہوئے تھے۔ ایک اَور دفعہ بارہ شاگردوں کو ایک طرف لے جا کر عیسیٰ اُنہیں وہ کچھ بتانے لگا جو اُس کے ساتھ ہونے کو تھا۔

Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:

اُس نے کہا، ”ہم یروشلم کی طرف بڑھ رہے ہیں۔ وہاں ابنِ آدم کو راہنما اماموں اور شریعت کے علما کے حوالے کر دیا جائے گا۔ وہ اُس پر سزائے موت کا فتویٰ دے کر اُسے غیریہودیوں کے حوالے کر دیں گے،

And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.

جو اُس کا مذاق اُڑائیں گے، اُس پر تھوکیں گے، اُس کو کوڑے ماریں گے اور اُسے قتل کریں گے۔ لیکن تین دن کے بعد وہ جی اُٹھے گا۔“

And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.

پھر زبدی کے بیٹے یعقوب اور یوحنا اُس کے پاس آئے۔ وہ کہنے لگے، ”اُستاد، آپ سے ایک گزارش ہے۔“

And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?

اُس نے پوچھا، ”تم کیا چاہتے ہو کہ مَیں تمہارے لئے کروں؟“

They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.

اُنہوں نے جواب دیا، ”جب آپ اپنے جلالی تخت پر بیٹھیں گے تو ہم میں سے ایک کو اپنے دائیں ہاتھ بیٹھنے دیں اور دوسرے کو بائیں ہاتھ۔“

But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?

عیسیٰ نے کہا، ”تم کو نہیں معلوم کہ کیا مانگ رہے ہو۔ کیا تم وہ پیالہ پی سکتے ہو جو مَیں پینے کو ہوں یا وہ بپتسمہ لے سکتے ہو جو مَیں لینے کو ہوں؟“

And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:

اُنہوں نے جواب دیا، ”جی، ہم کر سکتے ہیں۔“ پھر عیسیٰ نے اُن سے کہا، ”تم ضرور وہ پیالہ پیؤ گے جو مَیں پینے کو ہوں اور وہ بپتسمہ لو گے جو مَیں لینے کو ہوں۔

But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.

لیکن یہ فیصلہ کرنا میرا کام نہیں کہ کون میرے دائیں ہاتھ بیٹھے گا اور کون بائیں ہاتھ۔ اللہ نے یہ مقام صرف اُن ہی کے لئے تیار کیا ہے جن کو اُس نے خود مقرر کیا ہے۔“

And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John.

جب باقی دس شاگردوں نے یہ سنا تو اُنہیں یعقوب اور یوحنا پر غصہ آیا۔

But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.

اِس پر عیسیٰ نے اُن سب کو بُلا کر کہا، ”تم جانتے ہو کہ قوموں کے حکمران اپنی رعایا پر رُعب ڈالتے ہیں، اور اُن کے بڑے افسر اُن پر اپنے اختیار کا غلط استعمال کرتے ہیں۔

But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:

لیکن تمہارے درمیان ایسا نہیں ہے۔ جو تم میں بڑا ہونا چاہے وہ تمہارا خادم بنے

And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.

اور جو تم میں اوّل ہونا چاہے وہ سب کا غلام بنے۔

For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

کیونکہ ابنِ آدم بھی اِس لئے نہیں آیا کہ خدمت لے بلکہ اِس لئے کہ خدمت کرے اور اپنی جان فدیہ کے طور پر دے کر بہتوں کو چھڑائے۔“

And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimæus, the son of Timæus, sat by the highway side begging.

وہ یریحو پہنچ گئے۔ اُس میں سے گزر کر عیسیٰ شاگردوں اور ایک بڑے ہجوم کے ساتھ باہر نکلنے لگا۔ وہاں ایک اندھا بھیک مانگنے والا راستے کے کنارے بیٹھا تھا۔ اُس کا نام برتمائی (تمائی کا بیٹا) تھا۔

And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

جب اُس نے سنا کہ عیسیٰ ناصری قریب ہی ہے تو وہ چلّانے لگا، ”عیسیٰ ابنِ داؤد، مجھ پر رحم کریں!“

And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

بہت سے لوگوں نے اُسے ڈانٹ کر کہا، ”خاموش!“ لیکن وہ مزید اونچی آواز سے پکارتا رہا، ”ابنِ داؤد، مجھ پر رحم کریں!“

And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.

عیسیٰ رُک کر بولا، ”اُسے بُلاؤ۔“ چنانچہ اُنہوں نے اُسے بُلا کر کہا، ”حوصلہ رکھ۔ اُٹھ، وہ تجھے بُلا رہا ہے۔“

And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.

برتمائی نے اپنی چادر زمین پر پھینک دی اور اُچھل کر عیسیٰ کے پاس آیا۔

And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.

عیسیٰ نے پوچھا، ”تُو کیا چاہتا ہے کہ مَیں تیرے لئے کروں؟“ اُس نے جواب دیا، ”اُستاد، یہ کہ مَیں دیکھ سکوں۔“

And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

عیسیٰ نے کہا، ”جا، تیرے ایمان نے تجھے بچا لیا ہے۔“ جوں ہی عیسیٰ نے یہ کہا اندھے کی آنکھیں بحال ہو گئیں اور وہ عیسیٰ کے پیچھے چلنے لگا۔
