Proverbs 7

My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.

Synu mój! strzeż słów moich, a przykazanie moje chowaj u siebie.

Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

Strzeż przykazań moich, a żyć będziesz; a nauki mojej, jako źrenicy oczów swych.

Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.

Uwiąż je na palcach twoich,napisz je na tablicy serca twego.

Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:

Mów mądrości: Siostraś ty moja, a roztropność przyjaciółką nazywaj,

That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.

Aby cię strzegły od żony cudzej, i od obcej, która mówi łagodne słowa.

For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,

Bom oknem domu swego przez kratę moję wyglądał;

And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,

I widziałem między prostakami, obaczyłem między synami młodzieńca głupiego,

Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,

Który szedł ulicą przy rogu jej, drogą postępując ku domowi jej.

In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:

Ze zmierzkiem pod wieczór, w ciemności nocnej, i w mroku.

And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.

A oto niewiasta spotkała go, w ubiorze wszetecznicy, chytrego serca,

(She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:

Świegotliwa i nie ukrócona, a w domu własnym nie mogły się ostać nogi jej;

Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)

Raz na dworzu, raz na ulicach i po wszystkich kątach zasadzki czyniąca;

So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,

I uchwyciła go, i pocałowała go, a złożywszy wstyd z twarzy swojej, rzekła mu:

I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.

Ofiary spokojne są u mnie; dzisiajm oddała śluby moje.

Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.

Przetożem wyszła przeciw tobie, abym pilnie szukała twarzy twojej, i znalazłam cię.

I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.

Obiłam kobiercami łoże moje, ozdobione rzezaniem i prześcieradłami egipskiemi.

I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

Potrząsnęłam pokój swój myrrą, aloesem, i cynamonem.

Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.

Pójdźże, opójmy się miłością aż do poranku, ucieszmy się miłością.

For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:

Boć męża mego w domu niemasz; pojechał w drogę daleką.

He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.

Worek pieniędzy wziął z sobą; dnia pewnego wróci się do domu swego.

With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

I nakłoniła go wielą słów swoich, a łagodnością warg swoich zniewoliła go.

He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

Wnet poszedł za nią, jako wół, gdy go na rzeź wiodą, a jako głupi do pęta, którem karany bywa.

Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.

I przebiła strzałą wątrobę jego; kwapił się jako ptak do sidła, nie wiedząc, iż je zgotowano na duszę jego.

Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.

Przetoż teraz, synowie! słuchajcie mię, a bądźcie pilni powieści ust moich.

Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.

Niechaj się nie uchyla za drogami jej serce twoje, ani się tułaj po ścieszkach jej.

For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.

Albowiem wielu zraniwszy poraziła, i mocarze wszyscy pozabijani są od niej.

Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

Dom jej jest jako drogi piekielne, wiodące do gmachów śmierci.
