Psalms 104

Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.

ای خداوند، خدای من، تو چقدر بزرگ هستی! تو با عظمت و جلال آراسته‌ای.

Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:

خود را با نور پوشانیده و آسمان را مانند خیمه‌ای گسترانیده‌ای.

Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:

خانه‌ات را بر فراز آبها بنا نموده‌ای. ابرها را ارابهٔ خود ساخته‌ای و بر بالهای باد سوار شده‌ای.

Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:

بادها پیام‌آوران تو و شعله‌های آتش خادمان تو هستند.

Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.

اساس زمین را چنان استوار کردی که هرگز تکان نمی‌خورد.

Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.

دریاها آن را مانند ردا دربر گرفت و آب، کوهها را پوشانید.

At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.

از توبیخ تو، آبها خروشیدند و از شنیدن صدای فرمان تو، آنها گریختند.

They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.

از روی کوهها به‌ دشتها جاری شدند و دشتها را پُر کردند، به جاهایی که برای آنها تعیین نموده بودی.

Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.

برای آنها حدودی را معیّن کردی تا از آن نگذرند و بار دیگر تمام روی زمین را نپوشانند.

He sendeth the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills.

چشمه‏ها را در وادیها و رودخانه‏ها را بین کوهها جاری ساختی.

They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst.

تا حیوانات وحشی از آنها بنوشند و الاغهای وحشی، تشنگی خود را فرونشانند.

By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches.

پرندگان، بر شاخه‏های درختانِ نزدیک آنها آشیانه می‌سازند و نغمه‏سرایی می‌کنند.

He watereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.

از آسمان بر کوهها باران می‌بارانی و زمین را از نعماتت پُر می‌سازی.

He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;

برای مصرف حیوانات علف را می‌رویانی و برای انسانها نباتات را آفریدی تا غذای خود را از آنها به دست آورند.

And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart.

تا برای شادی دل خود شراب، و برای شادابی چهرهٔ‌شان روغن، و جهت تقویت جسمانی خود، نان تهیّه کنند.

The trees of the LORD are full of sap; the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;

سروهای لبنان که درختان خداوند هستند، سیراب می‌شوند.

Where the birds make their nests: as for the stork, the fir trees are her house.

پرندگان بر درختان سرو، و لک‌لکها روی درختان صنوبر، آشیانه می‌سازند.

The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for the conies.

کوهها پناهگاه بُزهای کوهی و صخره‏ها لانهٔ گورکن‏هاست.

He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.

مهتاب را جهت تعیین فصلها آفریدی و آفتاب وقت غروب خود را می‌داند.

Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth.

شب را به وجود آوردی تا در تاریکی آن حیوانات وحشی از لانه‌های خود بیرون آیند.

The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God.

شیرهای جوان برای طعمه‏ای که خدا برایشان فراهم کرده است، غرّش می‌کنند.

The sun ariseth, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens.

در وقت طلوع آفتاب، دوباره به بیشهٔ خود می‌روند و استراحت می‌کنند.

Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.

انسانها برای کسب و کار از خانه‏های خود بیرون می‌روند و تا هنگام شب تلاش می‌کنند.

O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.

خداوندا، کارهای تو چه بسیار است، همهٔ آنها را با حکمت انجام داده‌ای، زمین از مخلوقات تو پُر است.

So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts.

اقیانوسها بزرگ و وسیع هستند و حیوانات بی‌شمار، کوچک و بزرگ در آنها زندگی می‌کنند.

There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein.

کشتی‌ها بر روی آنها حركت می‌کنند و هیولای دریایی در آنها بازی می‌کند.

These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season.

همهٔ آنها محتاج تو هستند، تا روزیِ آنها را بدهی.

That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good.

هر آنچه تو به آنها می‌دهی، آنها جمع می‌نمایند. تو برایشان غذا آماده می‌کنی و آنها را سیر می‌سازی.

Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.

وقتی از آنها روی برمی‌گردانی، به وحشت می‌افتند و هنگامی‌که جانشان را می‌گیری، می‌میرند و به خاک برمی‌گردند زیرا که از آن ساخته شده‌اند.

Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.

چون روح خود را می‌فرستی زنده می‌شوند و زمین، زندگی تازه پیدا می‌کند.

The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works.

جلال خداوند جاودان باد. خداوند از کارهای خود خشنود باشد.

He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke.

او به زمین می‌نگرد و زمین به لرزه می‌آید و چون کوهها را لمس می‌کند، چون آتشفشان فَوَران می‌کنند.

I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.

تا زنده‌ام سرود حمد خواهم سرایید، و تا آخر عمر خود، خداوند را ستایش خواهم كرد.

My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.

امیدوارم که دعا و مناجات من او را خشنود سازد، زیرا او سرچشمهٔ سرور و شادی من است.

Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise ye the LORD.

گناهکاران از روی زمین محو شوند و اثری از مردمان بدکار باقی نماند. ای جان من خداوند را ستایش کن. خداوند را سپاس باد.
