Job 20

Silloin Zophar Naemasta vastasi ja sanoi:

Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,

Minun ajatakseni vaativat siis minua vastaamaan, ja en minä taida itsiäni pidättää.

Therefore do my thoughts cause me to answer, and for this I make haste.

Minä tahdon kuulla, jos joku minua nuhtelee ja laittaa; sillä minun ymmärrykseni benki vastaa minun puolestani.

I have heard the check of my reproach, and the spirit of my understanding causeth me to answer.

Etkös tiedä sen aina niin käyneen siitä ajasta kuin ibminen on pantu maan päälle,

Knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth,

Että jumalattomien kerskaus ei ulotu kauvas; ulkokullattuin ilo on silmänräpäykseksi.

That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?

Jos hänen korkeutensa ulottuis taivaasen, ja hänen päänsä sattuis pilviin;

Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds;

Niin pitää hänen viimein katooman niinkuin loka, niin että ne jotka hänen ovat näneet, sanovat: kussa hän on?

Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where is he?

Niinkuin uni katoo, niin ei pidä häntä löydettämän, ja niinkuin yönäkö pitää hänen raukeaman.

He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.

Se silmä, joka hänen nähnyt on, ei pidä häntä enää näkemän, ja hänen paikkansa ei pidä häntä enää näkemän.

The eye also which saw him shall see him no more; neither shall his place any more behold him.

Hänen lapsensa pitää kerjääjiä palveleman, ja hänen kätensä pitää jälleen hänelle antaman, mitä hän ryövännyt on.

His children shall seek to please the poor, and his hands shall restore their goods.

Hänen luunsa pitää maksaman hänen salaiset syntinsä, ja pitää makaaman maassa hänen kanssansa.

His bones are full of the sin of his youth, which shall lie down with him in the dust.

Ehkä vielä pahuus maistais makiasti hänen suussansa, kuitenkin pitää hänen sen kätkemän kielensä päälle.

Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue;

Hän säästää, ja ei hylkää sitä, vaan pitää sen suussansa.

Though he spare it, and forsake it not; but keep it still within his mouth:

Hänen ruokansa pitää muuttuman hänen vatsassansa, kärmeen sapeksi hänen sisälmyksissänsä.

Yet his meat in his bowels is turned, it is the gall of asps within him.

Sen tavaran jonka hän niellyt on, pitää hänen ylös oksentaman; ja Jumala ajaa ne ulos hänen vatsastansa.

He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again: God shall cast them out of his belly.

Hänen pitää imemän kärmeen myrkkyä, ja kyykärmeen kieli on hänen tappava.

He shall suck the poison of asps: the viper's tongue shall slay him.

Ei hänen pidä näkemän ojia ja virtoja, joista hunaja ja voi vuotavat.

He shall not see the rivers, the floods, the brooks of honey and butter.

Hän tekee työtä, ja ei saa nautita, ja hänen kalunsa pitää toisen saaman, niin ettei hänellä pidä niistä iloa oleman.

That which he laboured for shall he restore, and shall not swallow it down: according to his substance shall the restitution be, and he shall not rejoice therein.

Sillä hän on polkenut ja hyljännyt köyhän, hän on repinyt itsellensä huoneita, joita ei hän ole rakentanut.

Because he hath oppressed and hath forsaken the poor; because he hath violently taken away an house which he builded not;

Sillä hänen vatsansa ei ole taitanut täyteen tulla, ja hänen kalliit kalunsa ei taida häntä pelastaa.

Surely he shall not feel quietness in his belly, he shall not save of that which he desired.

Hänen ruastansa ei pidä mitään jäämän; sentähden ei pidä hänen hyvät päivänsä pysyväiset oleman.

There shall none of his meat be left; therefore shall no man look for his goods.

Ehkä hänellä olis yltäkyllä, niin pitää hänellä kuitenkin ahdistus oleman: kaikki käden vaiva pitää hänen päällensä tuleman.

In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: every hand of the wicked shall come upon him.

Hänen vatsansa pitää vihdoin täyteen tuleman, ja hänen pitää lähettämän vihansa hirmuisuuden hänen päällensä: hän antaa sataa sotansa hänen päällensä.

When he is about to fill his belly, God shall cast the fury of his wrath upon him, and shall rain it upon him while he is eating.

Hänen pitää pakeneman rautaisia sota-aseita, ja vaskijoutsen pitää hänen lävitsensä käymän.

He shall flee from the iron weapon, and the bow of steel shall strike him through.

Avoin miekka pitää käymän hänen lävitsensä, ja miekan välkkynä, joka hänelle pitää karvas oleman, pitää pelvolla hänen päällensä tuleman.

It is drawn, and cometh out of the body; yea, the glittering sword cometh out of his gall: terrors are upon him.

Koko pimeys on hänelle kätketty tavaraksi; tuli pitää hänen kuluttaman, joka ei puhallettu ole, ja sille, joka jää hänen majaansa, pitää pahoin käymän.

All darkness shall be hid in his secret places: a fire not blown shall consume him; it shall go ill with him that is left in his tabernacle.

Taivaan pitää ilmoittaman hänen pahuutensa, ja maan pitää asettaman itsensä häntä vastaan.

The heaven shall reveal his iniquity; and the earth shall rise up against him.

Hänen huoneensa hedelmä pitää vietämän pois, ja hajoitettaman hänen vihansa päivänä.

The increase of his house shall depart, and his goods shall flow away in the day of his wrath.

Tämä on jumalattoman ihmisen osa Jumalalta, ja hänen puheensa perintö Jumalalta.

This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God.
