Mark 6

پھر عیسیٰ وہاں سے چلا گیا اور اپنے وطنی شہر ناصرت میں آیا۔ اُس کے شاگرد اُس کے ساتھ تھے۔

And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him.

سبت کے دن وہ عبادت خانے میں تعلیم دینے لگا۔ بیشتر لوگ اُس کی باتیں سن کر حیرت زدہ ہوئے۔ اُنہوں نے پوچھا، ”اِسے یہ کہاں سے حاصل ہوا ہے؟ یہ حکمت جو اِسے ملی ہے، اور یہ معجزے جو اِس کے ہاتھوں سے ہوتے ہیں، یہ کیا ہے؟

And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?

کیا یہ وہ بڑھئی نہیں ہے جو مریم کا بیٹا ہے اور جس کے بھائی یعقوب، یوسف، یہوداہ اور شمعون ہیں؟ اور کیا اِس کی بہنیں یہیں نہیں رہتیں؟“ یوں اُنہوں نے اُس سے ٹھوکر کھا کر اُسے قبول نہ کیا۔

Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

عیسیٰ نے اُن سے کہا، ”نبی کی ہر جگہ عزت ہوتی ہے سوائے اُس کے وطنی شہر، اُس کے رشتے داروں اور اُس کے اپنے خاندان کے۔“

But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

وہاں وہ کوئی معجزہ نہ کر سکا۔ اُس نے صرف چند ایک مریضوں پر ہاتھ رکھ کر اُن کو شفا دی۔

And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.

اور وہ اُن کی بےاعتقادی کے سبب سے بہت حیران تھا۔ اِس کے بعد عیسیٰ نے ارد گرد کے علاقے میں گاؤں گاؤں جا کر لوگوں کو تعلیم دی۔

And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.

بارہ شاگردوں کو بُلا کر وہ اُنہیں دو دو کر کے مختلف جگہوں پر بھیجنے لگا۔ اِس کے لئے اُس نے اُنہیں ناپاک روحوں کو نکالنے کا اختیار دے کر

And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;

یہ ہدایت کی، ”سفر پر اپنے ساتھ کچھ نہ لینا سوائے ایک لاٹھی کے۔ نہ روٹی، نہ سامان کے لئے کوئی بیگ، نہ کمربند میں کوئی پیسہ،

And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse:

نہ ایک سے زیادہ سوٹ۔ تم جوتے پہن سکتے ہو۔

But be shod with sandals; and not put on two coats.

جس گھر میں بھی داخل ہو اُس میں اُس مقام سے چلے جانے تک ٹھہرو۔

And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide till ye depart from that place.

اور اگر کوئی مقام تم کو قبول نہ کرے یا تمہاری نہ سنے تو پھر روانہ ہوتے وقت اپنے پاؤں سے گرد جھاڑ دو۔ یوں تم اُن کے خلاف گواہی دو گے۔“

And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

چنانچہ شاگرد وہاں سے نکل کر منادی کرنے لگے کہ لوگ توبہ کریں۔

And they went out, and preached that men should repent.

اُنہوں نے بہت سی بدروحیں نکال دیں اور بہت سے مریضوں پر زیتون کا تیل مَل کر اُنہیں شفا دی۔

And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.

بادشاہ ہیرودیس انتپاس نے عیسیٰ کے بارے میں سنا، کیونکہ اُس کا نام مشہور ہو گیا تھا۔ کچھ کہہ رہے تھے، ”یحییٰ بپتسمہ دینے والا مُردوں میں سے جی اُٹھا ہے، اِس لئے اِس قسم کی معجزانہ طاقتیں اُس میں نظر آتی ہیں۔“ اَوروں نے سوچا، ”یہ الیاس نبی ہے۔“

And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.

یہ خیال بھی پیش کیا جا رہا تھا کہ وہ قدیم زمانے کے نبیوں جیسا کوئی نبی ہے۔

Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.

لیکن جب ہیرودیس نے اُس کے بارے میں سنا تو اُس نے کہا، ”یحییٰ جس کا مَیں نے سر قلم کروایا ہے مُردوں میں سے جی اُٹھا ہے۔“

But when Herod heard thereof, he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he is risen from the dead.

وجہ یہ تھی کہ ہیرودیس کے حکم پر ہی یحییٰ کو گرفتار کر کے جیل میں ڈالا گیا تھا۔ یہ ہیرودیاس کی خاطر ہوا تھا جو پہلے ہیرودیس کے بھائی فلپّس کی بیوی تھی، لیکن جس سے اُس نے اب خود شادی کر لی تھی۔

For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife: for he had married her.

یحییٰ نے ہیرودیس کو بتایا تھا، ”اپنے بھائی کی بیوی سے تیری شادی ناجائز ہے۔“

For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife.

اِس وجہ سے ہیرودیاس اُس سے کینہ رکھتی اور اُسے قتل کرانا چاہتی تھی۔ لیکن اِس میں وہ ناکام رہی

Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not:

کیونکہ ہیرودیس یحییٰ سے ڈرتا تھا۔ وہ جانتا تھا کہ یہ آدمی راست باز اور مُقدّس ہے، اِس لئے وہ اُس کی حفاظت کرتا تھا۔ جب بھی اُس سے بات ہوتی تو ہیرودیس سن سن کر بڑی اُلجھن میں پڑ جاتا۔ توبھی وہ اُس کی باتیں سننا پسند کرتا تھا۔

For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.

آخرکار ہیرودیاس کو ہیرودیس کی سال گرہ پر اچھا موقع مل گیا۔ سال گرہ کو منانے کے لئے ہیرودیس نے اپنے بڑے سرکاری افسروں، ملٹری کمانڈروں اور گلیل کے اوّل درجے کے شہریوں کی ضیافت کی۔

And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;

ضیافت کے دوران ہیرودیاس کی بیٹی اندر آ کر ناچنے لگی۔ ہیرودیس اور اُس کے مہمانوں کو یہ بہت پسند آیا اور اُس نے لڑکی سے کہا، ”جو جی چاہے مجھ سے مانگ تو مَیں وہ تجھے دوں گا۔“

And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.

بلکہ اُس نے قَسم کھا کر کہا، ”جو بھی تُو مانگے گی مَیں تجھے دوں گا، خواہ بادشاہی کا آدھا حصہ ہی کیوں نہ ہو۔“

And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.

لڑکی نے نکل کر اپنی ماں سے پوچھا، ”مَیں کیا مانگوں؟“ ماں نے جواب دیا، ”یحییٰ بپتسمہ دینے والے کا سر۔“

And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.

لڑکی پُھرتی سے اندر جا کر بادشاہ کے پاس واپس آئی اور کہا، ”مَیں چاہتی ہوں کہ آپ مجھے ابھی ابھی یحییٰ بپتسمہ دینے والے کا سر ٹرے میں منگوا دیں۔“

And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.

یہ سن کر بادشاہ کو بہت دُکھ ہوا۔ لیکن اپنی قَسموں اور مہمانوں کی موجودگی کی وجہ سے وہ انکار کرنے کے لئے بھی تیار نہیں تھا۔

And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath's sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.

چنانچہ اُس نے فوراً جلاد کو بھیج کر حکم دیا کہ وہ یحییٰ کا سر لے آئے۔ جلاد نے جیل میں جا کر یحییٰ کا سر قلم کر دیا۔

And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,

پھر وہ اُسے ٹرے میں رکھ کر لے آیا اور لڑکی کو دے دیا۔ لڑکی نے اُسے اپنی ماں کے سپرد کیا۔

And brought his head in a charger, and gave it to the damsel: and the damsel gave it to her mother.

جب یحییٰ کے شاگردوں کو یہ خبر پہنچی تو وہ آئے اور اُس کی لاش لے کر اُسے قبر میں رکھ دیا۔

And when his disciples heard of it, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.

رسول واپس آ کر عیسیٰ کے پاس جمع ہوئے اور اُسے سب کچھ سنانے لگے جو اُنہوں نے کیا اور سکھایا تھا۔

And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.

اِس دوران اِتنے لوگ آ اور جا رہے تھے کہ اُنہیں کھانا کھانے کا موقع بھی نہ ملا۔ اِس لئے عیسیٰ نے بارہ شاگردوں سے کہا، ”آؤ، ہم لوگوں سے الگ ہو کر کسی غیرآباد جگہ جائیں اور آرام کریں۔“

And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.

چنانچہ وہ کشتی پر سوار ہو کر کسی ویران جگہ چلے گئے۔

And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.

لیکن بہت سے لوگوں نے اُنہیں جاتے وقت پہچان لیا۔ وہ پیدل چل کر تمام شہروں سے نکل آئے اور دوڑ دوڑ کر اُن سے پہلے منزلِ مقصود تک پہنچ گئے۔

And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him.

جب عیسیٰ نے کشتی پر سے اُتر کر بڑے ہجوم کو دیکھا تو اُسے لوگوں پر ترس آیا، کیونکہ وہ اُن بھیڑوں کی مانند تھے جن کا کوئی چرواہا نہ ہو۔ وہیں وہ اُنہیں بہت سی باتیں سکھانے لگا۔

And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

جب دن ڈھلنے لگا تو اُس کے شاگرد اُس کے پاس آئے اور کہا، ”یہ جگہ ویران ہے اور دن ڈھلنے لگا ہے۔

And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed:

اِن کو رُخصت کر دیں تاکہ یہ ارد گرد کی بستیوں اور دیہاتوں میں جا کر کھانے کے لئے کچھ خرید لیں۔“

Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.

لیکن عیسیٰ نے اُنہیں کہا، ”تم خود اِنہیں کچھ کھانے کو دو۔“ اُنہوں نے پوچھا، ”ہم اِس کے لئے درکار چاندی کے 200 سِکے کہاں سے لے کر روٹی خریدنے جائیں اور اِنہیں کھلائیں؟“

He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?

اُس نے کہا، ”تمہارے پاس کتنی روٹیاں ہیں؟ جا کر پتا کرو!“ اُنہوں نے معلوم کیا۔ پھر دوبارہ اُس کے پاس آ کر کہنے لگے، ”ہمارے پاس پانچ روٹیاں اور دو مچھلیاں ہیں۔“

He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.

اِس پر عیسیٰ نے اُنہیں ہدایت دی، ”تمام لوگوں کو گروہوں میں ہری گھاس پر بٹھا دو۔“

And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.

چنانچہ لوگ سَو سَو اور پچاس پچاس کی صورت میں بیٹھ گئے۔

And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.

پھر عیسیٰ نے اُن پانچ روٹیوں اور دو مچھلیوں کو لے کر آسمان کی طرف دیکھا اور شکرگزاری کی دعا کی۔ پھر اُس نے روٹیوں کو توڑ توڑ کر شاگردوں کو دیا تاکہ وہ لوگوں میں تقسیم کریں۔ اُس نے دو مچھلیوں کو بھی ٹکڑے ٹکڑے کر کے شاگردوں کے ذریعے اُن میں تقسیم کروایا۔

And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.

اور سب نے جی بھر کر کھایا۔

And they did all eat, and were filled.

جب شاگردوں نے روٹیوں اور مچھلیوں کے بچے ہوئے ٹکڑے جمع کئے تو بارہ ٹوکرے بھر گئے۔

And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes.

کھانے والے مردوں کی کُل تعداد 5,000 تھی۔

And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men.

اِس کے عین بعد عیسیٰ نے اپنے شاگردوں کو مجبور کیا کہ وہ کشتی پر سوار ہو کر آگے نکلیں اور جھیل کے پار کے شہر بیت صیدا جائیں۔ اِتنے میں وہ ہجوم کو رُخصت کرنا چاہتا تھا۔

And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.

اُنہیں خیرباد کہنے کے بعد وہ دعا کرنے کے لئے پہاڑ پر چڑھ گیا۔

And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.

شام کے وقت شاگردوں کی کشتی جھیل کے بیچ تک پہنچ گئی تھی جبکہ عیسیٰ خود خشکی پر اکیلا رہ گیا تھا۔

And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.

وہاں سے اُس نے دیکھا کہ شاگرد کشتی کو کھینے میں بڑی جد و جہد کر رہے ہیں، کیونکہ ہَوا اُن کے خلاف چل رہی تھی۔ تقریباً تین بجے رات کے وقت عیسیٰ پانی پر چلتے ہوئے اُن کے پاس آیا۔ وہ اُن سے آگے نکلنا چاہتا تھا،

And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.

لیکن جب اُنہوں نے اُسے جھیل کی سطح پر چلتے ہوئے دیکھا تو سوچنے لگے، ”یہ کوئی بھوت ہے“ اور چیخیں مارنے لگے۔

But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out:

کیونکہ سب نے اُسے دیکھ کر دہشت کھائی۔ لیکن عیسیٰ فوراً اُن سے مخاطب ہو کر بولا، ”حوصلہ رکھو! مَیں ہی ہوں۔ مت گھبراؤ۔“

For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.

پھر وہ اُن کے پاس آیا اور کشتی میں بیٹھ گیا۔ اُسی وقت ہَوا تھم گئی۔ شاگرد نہایت ہی حیرت زدہ ہوئے۔

And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.

کیونکہ جب روٹیوں کا معجزہ کیا گیا تھا تو وہ اِس کا مطلب نہیں سمجھے تھے بلکہ اُن کے دل بےحس ہو گئے تھے۔

For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.

جھیل کو پار کر کے وہ گنیسرت شہر کے پاس پہنچ گئے اور لنگر ڈال دیا۔

And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore.

جوں ہی وہ کشتی سے اُترے لوگوں نے عیسیٰ کو پہچان لیا۔

And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him,

وہ بھاگ بھاگ کر اُس پورے علاقے میں سے گزرے اور مریضوں کو چارپائیوں پر اُٹھا اُٹھا کر وہاں لے آئے جہاں کہیں اُنہیں خبر ملی کہ وہ ٹھہرا ہوا ہے۔

And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.

جہاں بھی وہ گیا چاہے گاؤں، شہر یا بستی میں، وہاں لوگوں نے بیماروں کو چوکوں میں رکھ کر اُس سے منت کی کہ وہ کم از کم اُنہیں اپنے لباس کے دامن کو چھونے دے۔ اور جس نے بھی اُسے چھوا اُسے شفا ملی۔

And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.
