Mark 7

ایک دن فریسی اور شریعت کے کچھ عالِم یروشلم سے عیسیٰ سے ملنے آئے۔

Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.

جب وہ وہاں تھے تو اُنہوں نے دیکھا کہ اُس کے کچھ شاگرد اپنے ہاتھ پاک صاف کئے بغیر یعنی دھوئے بغیر کھانا کھا رہے ہیں۔

And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.

(کیونکہ یہودی اور خاص کر فریسی فرقے کے لوگ اِس معاملے میں اپنے باپ دادا کی روایت کو مانتے ہیں۔ وہ اپنے ہاتھ اچھی طرح دھوئے بغیر کھانا نہیں کھاتے۔

For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.

اِسی طرح جب وہ کبھی بازار سے آتے ہیں تو وہ غسل کر کے ہی کھانا کھاتے ہیں۔ وہ بہت سی اَور روایتوں پر بھی عمل کرتے ہیں، مثلاً کپ، جگ اور کیتلی کو دھو کر پاک صاف کرنے کی رسم پر۔)

And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.

چنانچہ فریسیوں اور شریعت کے عالِموں نے عیسیٰ سے پوچھا، ”آپ کے شاگرد باپ دادا کی روایتوں کے مطابق زندگی کیوں نہیں گزارتے بلکہ روٹی بھی ہاتھ پاک صاف کئے بغیر کھاتے ہیں؟“

Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?

عیسیٰ نے جواب دیا، ”یسعیاہ نبی نے تم ریاکاروں کے بارے میں ٹھیک کہا جب اُس نے یہ نبوّت کی، ’یہ قوم اپنے ہونٹوں سے تو میرا احترام کرتی ہے لیکن اُس کا دل مجھ سے دُور ہے۔

He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

وہ میری پرستش کرتے تو ہیں، لیکن بےفائدہ۔ کیونکہ وہ صرف انسان ہی کے احکام سکھاتے ہیں۔‘

Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

تم اللہ کے احکام کو چھوڑ کر انسانی روایات کی پیروی کرتے ہو۔“

For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.

عیسیٰ نے اپنی بات جاری رکھی، ”تم کتنے سلیقے سے اللہ کا حکم منسوخ کرتے ہو تاکہ اپنی روایات کو قائم رکھ سکو۔

And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

مثلاً موسیٰ نے فرمایا، ’اپنے باپ اور اپنی ماں کی عزت کرنا‘ اور ’جو اپنے باپ یا ماں پر لعنت کرے اُسے سزائے موت دی جائے۔‘

For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:

لیکن جب کوئی اپنے والدین سے کہے، ’مَیں آپ کی مدد نہیں کر سکتا، کیونکہ مَیں نے مَنت مانی ہے کہ جو مجھے آپ کو دینا تھا وہ اللہ کے لئے قربانی ہے‘ تو تم اِسے جائز قرار دیتے ہو۔

But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.

یوں تم اُسے اپنے ماں باپ کی مدد کرنے سے روک لیتے ہو۔

And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;

اور اِسی طرح تم اللہ کے کلام کو اپنی اُس روایت سے منسوخ کر لیتے ہو جو تم نے نسل در نسل منتقل کی ہے۔ تم اِس قسم کی بہت سی حرکتیں کرتے ہو۔“

Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

پھر عیسیٰ نے دوبارہ ہجوم کو اپنے پاس بُلایا اور کہا، ”سب میری بات سنو اور اِسے سمجھنے کی کوشش کرو۔

And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:

کوئی ایسی چیز ہے نہیں جو انسان میں داخل ہو کر اُسے ناپاک کر سکے، بلکہ جو کچھ انسان کے اندر سے نکلتا ہے وہی اُسے ناپاک کر دیتا ہے۔“

There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

[اگر کوئی سن سکتا ہے تو وہ سن لے۔]

If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

پھر وہ ہجوم کو چھوڑ کر کسی گھر میں داخل ہوا۔ وہاں اُس کے شاگردوں نے پوچھا، ”اِس تمثیل کا کیا مطلب ہے؟“

And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.

اُس نے کہا، ”کیا تم بھی اِتنے ناسمجھ ہو؟ کیا تم نہیں سمجھتے کہ جو کچھ باہر سے انسان میں داخل ہوتا ہے وہ اُسے ناپاک نہیں کر سکتا؟

And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;

وہ تو اُس کے دل میں نہیں جاتا بلکہ اُس کے معدے میں اور وہاں سے نکل کر جائے ضرورت میں۔“ (یہ کہہ کر عیسیٰ نے ہر قسم کا کھانا پاک صاف قرار دیا۔)

Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?

اُس نے یہ بھی کہا، ”جو کچھ انسان کے اندر سے نکلتا ہے وہی اُسے ناپاک کرتا ہے۔

And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.

کیونکہ لوگوں کے اندر سے، اُن کے دلوں ہی سے بُرے خیالات، حرام کاری، چوری، قتل و غارت،

For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

زناکاری، لالچ، بدکاری، دھوکا، شہوت پرستی، حسد، بہتان، غرور اور حماقت نکلتے ہیں۔

Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

یہ تمام بُرائیاں اندر ہی سے نکل کر انسان کو ناپاک کر دیتی ہیں۔“

All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

پھر عیسیٰ گلیل سے روانہ ہو کر شمال میں صور کے علاقے میں آیا۔ وہاں وہ کسی گھر میں داخل ہوا۔ وہ نہیں چاہتا تھا کہ کسی کو پتا چلے، لیکن وہ پوشیدہ نہ رہ سکا۔

And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know it: but he could not be hid.

فوراً ایک عورت اُس کے پاس آئی جس نے اُس کے بارے میں سن رکھا تھا۔ وہ اُس کے پاؤں میں گر گئی۔ اُس کی چھوٹی بیٹی کسی ناپاک روح کے قبضے میں تھی،

For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:

اور اُس نے عیسیٰ سے گزارش کی، ”بدروح کو میری بیٹی میں سے نکال دیں۔“ لیکن وہ عورت یونانی تھی اور سورفینیکے کے علاقے میں پیدا ہوئی تھی،

The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.

اِس لئے عیسیٰ نے اُسے بتایا، ”پہلے بچوں کو جی بھر کر کھانے دے، کیونکہ یہ مناسب نہیں کہ بچوں سے کھانا لے کر کُتوں کے سامنے پھینک دیا جائے۔“

But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.

اُس نے جواب دیا، ”جی خداوند، لیکن میز کے نیچے کے کُتے بھی بچوں کے گرے ہوئے ٹکڑے کھاتے ہیں۔“

And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs.

عیسیٰ نے کہا، ”تُو نے اچھا جواب دیا، اِس لئے جا، بدروح تیری بیٹی میں سے نکل گئی ہے۔“

And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.

عورت اپنے گھر واپس چلی گئی تو دیکھا کہ لڑکی بستر پر پڑی ہے اور بدروح اُس میں سے نکل چکی ہے۔

And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.

جب عیسیٰ صور سے روانہ ہوا تو وہ پہلے شمال میں واقع شہر صیدا کو چلا گیا۔ پھر وہاں سے بھی فارغ ہو کر وہ دوبارہ گلیل کی جھیل کے کنارے واقع دکپلس کے علاقے میں پہنچ گیا۔

And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.

وہاں اُس کے پاس ایک بہرا آدمی لایا گیا جو مشکل ہی سے بول سکتا تھا۔ اُنہوں نے منت کی کہ وہ اپنا ہاتھ اُس پر رکھے۔

And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.

عیسیٰ اُسے ہجوم سے دُور لے گیا۔ اُس نے اپنی اُنگلیاں اُس کے کانوں میں ڈالیں اور تھوک کر آدمی کی زبان کو چھوا۔

And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;

پھر آسمان کی طرف نظر اُٹھا کر اُس نے آہ بھری اور اُس سے کہا، ”اِفتح!“ (اِس کا مطلب ہے ”کھل جا!“)

And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.

فوراً آدمی کے کان کھل گئے، زبان کا بندھن ٹوٹ گیا اور وہ ٹھیک ٹھیک بولنے لگا۔

And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.

عیسیٰ نے حاضرین کو حکم دیا کہ وہ کسی کو یہ بات نہ بتائیں۔ لیکن جتنا وہ منع کرتا تھا اُتنا ہی لوگ اِس کی خبر پھیلاتے تھے۔

And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;

وہ نہایت ہی حیران ہوئے اور کہنے لگے، ”اِس نے سب کچھ اچھا کیا ہے، یہ بہروں کو سننے کی طاقت دیتا ہے اور گونگوں کو بولنے کی۔“

And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.
