John 11

Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.

Един човек на име Лазар, от Витания, от селото на Мария и на сестра й Марта, беше болен.

(It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)

А Мария, чийто брат Лазар беше болен, беше онази, която помаза Господа с миро и избърса краката Му с косата си.

Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.

И така, сестрите пратиха до Него да Му кажат: Господи, ето, този, когото обичаш, е болен.

When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.

А Иисус, като чу, каза: Тази болест не е смъртоносна, а е за Божията слава – за да се прослави Божият Син чрез нея.

Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.

А Иисус любеше Марта и сестра й, и Лазар.

When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.

И когато чу, че бил болен, престоя два дни на мястото, където се намираше.

Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judæa again.

След това каза на учениците: Да отидем пак в Юдея.

His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?

Учениците Му казаха: Равви, сега юдеите искаха да Те убият с камъни, и пак ли там отиваш?

Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.

Иисус отговори: Нали денят има дванадесет часа? Ако някой ходи денем, не се препъва, защото вижда светлината на този свят.

But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.

Но ако някой ходи нощем, се препъва, защото светлината не е в него.

These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

Това изговори и след това им каза: Нашият приятел Лазар е заспал, но Аз отивам да го събудя.

Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.

Тогава учениците Му казаха: Господи, ако е заспал, ще оздравее.

Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.

Но Иисус беше говорил за смъртта му, а те мислеха, че говори за почиване в сън.

Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.

Тогава Иисус им каза ясно: Лазар умря.

And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.

Но заради вас се радвам, че не бях там, за да повярвате. Но нека да отидем при него.

Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him.

Тогава Тома, наречен Близнак, каза на другарите си, учениците: Да отидем и ние, за да умрем с него.

Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already.

И така, като дойде Иисус, намери, че той беше вече от четири дни в гроба.

Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:

А Витания беше близо до Ерусалим – на около петнадесет стадия;

And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.

и много от юдеите бяха при Марта и Мария, за да ги утешават за брат им.

Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house.

А Марта, като чу, че идел Иисус, отиде да Го посрещне; а Мария седеше вкъщи.

Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

Тогава Марта каза на Иисус: Господи, ако Ти беше тук, нямаше да умре брат ми.

But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.

Но и сега зная, че каквото и да поискаш от Бога, Бог ще Ти даде.

Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.

Иисус й каза: Брат ти ще възкръсне.

Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

Марта Му каза: Зная, че ще възкръсне във възкресението на последния ден.

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

Иисус й каза: Аз съм възкресението и животът; който вярва в Мен, ако и да умре, ще живее;

And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

и никой, който е жив и вярва в Мен, няма да умре до века. Вярваш ли ти това?

She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.

Тя Му каза: Да, Господи, аз вярвам, че Ти си Христос, Божия Син, който има да дойде на света.

And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee.

И като каза това, тя отиде и тайно повика сестра си Мария, като каза: Учителят е дошъл и те вика.

As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto him.

И тя, щом чу това, стана бързо и отиде при Него.

Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him.

Иисус още не беше дошъл в града, а беше на мястото, където Го посрещна Марта.

The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there.

А юдеите, които бяха с нея вкъщи и я утешаваха, като видяха, че Мария стана бързо и излезе, я последваха, като мислеха, че отива на гроба да плаче там.

Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

И така, Мария, като дойде там, където беше Иисус, и Го видя, падна пред краката Му и Му каза: Господи, да беше Ти тук, нямаше да умре брат ми.

When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,

Иисус, като я видя, че плаче, и че юдеите, които дойдоха с нея, плачат, възнегодува в духа Си и се смути.

And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.

И каза: Къде го положихте? Казаха Му: Господи, ела и виж.

Jesus wept.

Иисус се просълзи.

Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!

Тогава юдеите казаха: Виж колко го е обичал!

And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?

А някои от тях казаха: Не можеше ли Този, който отвори очите на слепия, да направи така, че и този да не умре?

Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.

А Иисус, негодувайки пак в Себе Си, дойде на гроба. Беше пещера и на нея беше отърколен камък.

Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.

Иисус каза: Махнете камъка. Марта, сестрата на умрелия, Му каза: Господи, смърди вече, защото от четири дни е мъртъв.

Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?

Иисус й каза: Не ти ли казах, че ако повярваш, ще видиш Божията слава?

Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.

Тогава те махнаха камъка. А Иисус повдигна очи нагоре и каза: Отче, благодаря Ти, че Ме послуша.

And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.

Аз знаех, че Ти винаги Ме слушаш, но казах това заради множеството, което стои наоколо, за да повярват, че Ти си Ме изпратил.

And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

Като каза това, извика със силен глас: Лазаре, излез навън!

And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

И умрелият излезе с ръце и крака, повити в саван, и лицето му увито с кърпа. Иисус им каза: Разповийте го и го оставете да си върви.

Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.

Тогава много от юдеите, които бяха дошли при Мария и видяха това, което направи Иисус, повярваха в Него.

But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.

А някои от тях отидоха при фарисеите и им казаха какво беше извършил Иисус.

Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.

Затова главните свещеници и фарисеите свикаха Синедриона и казаха: Какво ще правим ние? Защото този Човек върши много знамения.

If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.

Ако Го оставим така, всички ще повярват в Него; и римляните ще дойдат и ще отнемат и страната ни, и народа ни.

And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,

А един от тях, Каяфа, който беше първосвещеник през тази година, им каза: Вие нищо не знаете,

Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.

нито съобразявате, че за нас е по-добре един човек да умре за народа, отколкото да загине целият народ.

And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;

Това той не каза от себе си, а тъй като беше първосвещеник през онази година, предсказа, че Иисус ще умре за народа,

And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.

и не само за народа, но и за да събере в едно разпръснатите Божии деца.

Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.

И така, от онзи ден те се съветваха да Го убият.

Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews; but went thence unto a country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and there continued with his disciples.

Затова Иисус вече не ходеше открито между юдеите, а оттам отиде в една местност близо до пустинята, в един град, наречен Ефраим, и там остана с учениците Си.

And the Jews' passover was nigh at hand: and many went out of the country up to Jerusalem before the passover, to purify themselves.

А наближаваше юдейската Пасха; и мнозина от провинцията се изкачиха в Ерусалим преди Пасхата, за да се очистят.

Then sought they for Jesus, and spake among themselves, as they stood in the temple, What think ye, that he will not come to the feast?

И така, те търсеха Иисус и стоейки в храма, разговаряха помежду си: Как ви се вижда? Няма ли да дойде на празника?

Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if any man knew where he were, he should shew it, that they might take him.

А главните свещеници и фарисеите бяха издали заповед: ако узнае някой къде е, да извести, за да Го уловят.
