Извикай сега — има ли кой да ти отговори? И към кого от светите ще се обърнеш?

Call now, if there be any that will answer thee; and to which of the saints wilt thou turn?

Защото досадата убива безумния и завистта умъртвява простия.

For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one.

Виждал съм безумния да се закоренява и жилището му веднага съм проклинал.

I have seen the foolish taking root: but suddenly I cursed his habitation.

Далеч са синовете му от безопасност; стъпкват ги във портата и няма избавител.

His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, neither is there any to deliver them.

Гладният изяжда жетвата им и през тръните я граби; грабител поглъща имота им.

Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh it even out of the thorns, and the robber swalloweth up their substance.

Защото бедствието не идва от пръстта, нито печалта пониква от земята;

Although affliction cometh not forth of the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground;

но човек се ражда за печал, както искрите нагоре хвърчат.

Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.

Но аз ще търся Бога и делото си на Бога ще възложа,

I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause:

който върши велики, неизследими дела и безбройни чудеса.

Which doeth great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number:

Той дава дъжд по лицето на земята и вода изпраща по лицето на полята.

Who giveth rain upon the earth, and sendeth waters upon the fields:

Възвишава смирените и издига в безопасност нажалените.

To set up on high those that be low; that those which mourn may be exalted to safety.

Осуетява замислите на коварните и ръцете им не изпълняват начинанието си.

He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.

Улавя мъдрите в лукавството им, на хитрите съветът се проваля.

He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong.

Денем срещат тъмнина, по пладне ходят пипнешком, като че нощем.

They meet with darkness in the daytime, and grope in the noonday as in the night.

Но Той спасява сиромаха от меча, от устата и от ръката на силния.

But he saveth the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.

Така бедният има надежда и устата на беззаконието се затварят.

So the poor hath hope, and iniquity stoppeth her mouth.

Ето, блажен човекът, когото Бог изобличава; затова не презирай наказанието от Всесилния.

Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:

Защото Той наранява и Той превързва; Той поразява и ръцете Му изцеляват.

For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.

В шест беди ще те избави, и в седем няма зло да те докосне.

He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.

В глад от смърт ще те откупи и във война — от силата на меча.

In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.

Ще бъдеш скрит от бича на езика и няма да се плашиш от насилие, когато дойде.

Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.

Ще се присмееш на насилието и глада, от земни зверове не ще се плашиш.

At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.

Защото ще бъдеш в съюз със камъните на полето и полските зверове ще бъдат в мир със теб.

For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.

И ще познаеш, че шатрата ти е в мир, ще прегледаш жилището си и нищо няма да ти липсва.

And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace; and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin.

Ще познаеш също, че потомството ти ще е многобройно и потомците ти — като земната трева.

Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be great, and thine offspring as the grass of the earth.

Ще отидеш в гроба си във пълна зрялост, както житните снопи се прибират на времето си.

Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season.

Ето, това изследвахме, така е. Чуй и разбери за себе си.

Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thy good.
