Job 22

پھر اِلی فز تیمانی نے جواب دے کر کہا،

Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,

”کیا اللہ انسان سے فائدہ اُٹھا سکتا ہے؟ ہرگز نہیں! اُس کے لئے دانش مند بھی فائدے کا باعث نہیں۔

Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?

اگر تُو راست باز ہو بھی تو کیا وہ اِس سے اپنے لئے نفع اُٹھا سکتا ہے؟ ہرگز نہیں! اگر تُو بےالزام زندگی گزارے تو کیا اُسے کچھ حاصل ہوتا ہے؟

Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? or is it gain to him, that thou makest thy ways perfect?

اللہ تجھے تیری خدا ترس زندگی کے سبب سے ملامت نہیں کر رہا۔ یہ نہ سوچ کہ وہ اِسی لئے عدالت میں تجھ سے جواب طلب کر رہا ہے۔

Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? will he enter with thee into judgment?

نہیں، وجہ تیری بڑی بدکاری، تیرے لامحدود گناہ ہیں۔

Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities infinite?

جب تیرے بھائیوں نے تجھ سے قرض لیا تو تُو نے بلاوجہ وہ چیزیں اپنا لی ہوں گی جو اُنہوں نے تجھے ضمانت کے طور پر دی تھیں، تُو نے اُنہیں اُن کے کپڑوں سے محروم کر دیا ہو گا۔

For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.

تُو نے تھکے ماندوں کو پانی پلانے سے اور بھوکے مرنے والوں کو کھانا کھلانے سے انکار کیا ہو گا۔

Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.

بےشک تیرا رویہ اِس خیال پر مبنی تھا کہ پورا ملک طاقت وروں کی ملکیت ہے، کہ صرف بڑے لوگ اُس میں رہ سکتے ہیں۔

But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it.

تُو نے بیواؤں کو خالی ہاتھ موڑ دیا ہو گا، یتیموں کی طاقت پاش پاش کی ہو گی۔

Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.

اِسی لئے تُو پھندوں سے گھرا رہتا ہے، اچانک ہی تجھے دہشت ناک واقعات ڈراتے ہیں۔

Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee;

یہی وجہ ہے کہ تجھ پر ایسا اندھیرا چھا گیا ہے کہ تُو دیکھ نہیں سکتا، کہ سیلاب نے تجھے ڈبو دیا ہے۔

Or darkness, that thou canst not see; and abundance of waters cover thee.

کیا اللہ آسمان کی بلندیوں پر نہیں ہوتا؟ وہ تو ستاروں پر نظر ڈالتا ہے، خواہ وہ کتنے ہی اونچے کیوں نہ ہوں۔

Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!

توبھی تُو کہتا ہے، ’اللہ کیا جانتا ہے؟ کیا وہ کالے بادلوں میں سے دیکھ کر عدالت کر سکتا ہے؟

And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud?

وہ گھنے بادلوں میں چھپا رہتا ہے، اِس لئے جب وہ آسمان کے گنبد پر چلتا ہے تو اُسے کچھ نظر نہیں آتا۔‘

Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.

کیا تُو اُس قدیم راہ سے باز نہیں آئے گا جس پر بدکار چلتے رہے ہیں؟

Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?

وہ تو اپنے مقررہ وقت سے پہلے ہی سکڑ گئے، اُن کی بنیادیں سیلاب سے ہی اُڑا لی گئیں۔

Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a flood:

اُنہوں نے اللہ سے کہا، ’ہم سے دُور ہو جا،‘ اور ’قادرِ مطلق ہمارے لئے کیا کچھ کر سکتا ہے؟‘

Which said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do for them?

لیکن اللہ ہی نے اُن کے گھروں کو بھرپور خوش حالی سے نوازا، گو بےدینوں کے بُرے منصوبے اُس سے دُور ہی دُور رہتے ہیں۔

Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.

راست باز اُن کی تباہی دیکھ کر خوش ہوئے، بےقصوروں نے اُن کی ہنسی اُڑا کر کہا،

The righteous see it, and are glad: and the innocent laugh them to scorn.

’لو، یہ دیکھو، اُن کی جائیداد کس طرح مٹ گئی، اُن کی دولت کس طرح بھسم ہو گئی ہے!‘

Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the remnant of them the fire consumeth.

اے ایوب، اللہ سے صلح کر کے سلامتی حاصل کر، تب ہی تُو خوش حالی پائے گا۔

Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.

اللہ کے منہ کی ہدایت اپنا لے، اُس کے فرمان اپنے دل میں محفوظ رکھ۔

Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.

اگر تُو قادرِ مطلق کے پاس واپس آئے تو بحال ہو جائے گا، اور تیرے خیمے سے بدی دُور ہی رہے گی۔

If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.

سونے کو خاک کے برابر، اوفیر کا خالص سونا وادی کے پتھر کے برابر سمجھ لے

Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.

تو قادرِ مطلق خود تیرا سونا ہو گا، وہی تیرے لئے چاندی کا ڈھیر ہو گا۔

Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.

تب تُو قادرِ مطلق سے لطف اندوز ہو گا اور اللہ کے حضور اپنا سر اُٹھا سکے گا۔

For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.

تُو اُس سے التجا کرے گا تو وہ تیری سنے گا اور تُو اپنی مَنتیں بڑھا سکے گا۔

Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.

جو کچھ بھی تُو کرنے کا ارادہ رکھے اُس میں تجھے کامیابی ہو گی، تیری راہوں پر روشنی چمکے گی۔

Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.

کیونکہ جو شیخی بھگارتا ہے اُسے اللہ پست کرتا جبکہ جو پست حال ہے اُسے وہ نجات دیتا ہے۔

When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.

وہ بےقصور کو چھڑاتا ہے، چنانچہ اگر تیرے ہاتھ پاک ہوں تو وہ تجھے چھڑائے گا۔“

He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.
