Psalms 102

Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee.

مصیبت زدہ کی دعا، اُس وقت جب وہ نڈھال ہو کر رب کے سامنے اپنی آہ و زاری اُنڈیل دیتا ہے۔ اے رب، میری دعا سن! مدد کے لئے میری آہیں تیرے حضور پہنچیں۔

Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.

جب مَیں مصیبت میں ہوں تو اپنا چہرہ مجھ سے چھپائے نہ رکھ بلکہ اپنا کان میری طرف جھکا۔ جب مَیں پکاروں تو جلد ہی میری سن۔

For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth.

کیونکہ میرے دن دھوئیں کی طرح غائب ہو رہے ہیں، میری ہڈیاں کوئلوں کی طرح دہک رہی ہیں۔

My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.

میرا دل گھاس کی طرح جُھلس کر سوکھ گیا ہے، اور مَیں روٹی کھانا بھی بھول گیا ہوں۔

By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.

آہ و زاری کرتے کرتے میرا جسم سکڑ گیا ہے، جِلد اور ہڈیاں ہی رہ گئی ہیں۔

I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.

مَیں ریگستان میں دشتی اُلّو اور کھنڈرات میں چھوٹے اُلّو کی مانند ہوں۔

I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.

مَیں بستر پر جاگتا رہتا ہوں، چھت پر تنہا پرندے کی مانند ہوں۔

Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are mad against me are sworn against me.

دن بھر میرے دشمن مجھے لعن طعن کرتے ہیں۔ جو میرا مذاق اُڑاتے ہیں وہ میرا نام لے کر لعنت کرتے ہیں۔

For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping,

راکھ میری روٹی ہے، اور جو کچھ پیتا ہوں اُس میں میرے آنسو ملے ہوتے ہیں۔

Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down.

کیونکہ مجھ پر تیری لعنت اور تیرا غضب نازل ہوا ہے۔ تُو نے مجھے اُٹھا کر زمین پر پٹخ دیا ہے۔

My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass.

میرے دن شام کے ڈھلنے والے سائے کی مانند ہیں۔ مَیں گھاس کی طرح سوکھ رہا ہوں۔

But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.

لیکن تُو اے رب ابد تک تخت نشین ہے، تیرا نام پشت در پشت قائم رہتا ہے۔

Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.

اب آ، کوہِ صیون پر رحم کر۔ کیونکہ اُس پر مہربانی کرنے کا وقت آ گیا ہے، مقررہ وقت آ گیا ہے۔

For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof.

کیونکہ تیرے خادموں کو اُس کا ایک ایک پتھر پیارا ہے، اور وہ اُس کے ملبے پر ترس کھاتے ہیں۔

So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.

تب ہی قومیں رب کے نام سے ڈریں گی، اور دنیا کے تمام بادشاہ تیرے جلال کا خوف کھائیں گے۔

When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.

کیونکہ رب صیون کو از سرِ نو تعمیر کرے گا، وہ اپنے پورے جلال کے ساتھ ظاہر ہو جائے گا۔

He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.

مفلسوں کی دعا پر وہ دھیان دے گا اور اُن کی فریادوں کو حقیر نہیں جانے گا۔

This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.

آنے والی نسل کے لئے یہ قلم بند ہو جائے تاکہ جو قوم ابھی پیدا نہیں ہوئی وہ رب کی ستائش کرے۔

For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth;

کیونکہ رب نے اپنے مقدِس کی بلندیوں سے جھانکا ہے، اُس نے آسمان سے زمین پر نظر ڈالی ہے

To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;

تاکہ قیدیوں کی آہ و زاری سنے اور مرنے والوں کی زنجیریں کھولے۔

To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;

کیونکہ اُس کی مرضی ہے کہ وہ کوہِ صیون پر رب کے نام کا اعلان کریں اور یروشلم میں اُس کی ستائش کریں،

When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.

کہ قومیں اور سلطنتیں مل کر جمع ہو جائیں اور رب کی عبادت کریں۔

He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.

راستے میں ہی اللہ نے میری طاقت توڑ کر میرے دن مختصر کر دیئے ہیں۔

I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations.

مَیں بولا، ”اے میرے خدا، مجھے زندوں کے ملک سے دُور نہ کر، میری زندگی تو ادھوری رہ گئی ہے۔ لیکن تیرے سال پشت در پشت قائم رہتے ہیں۔

Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.

تُو نے قدیم زمانے میں زمین کی بنیاد رکھی، اور تیرے ہی ہاتھوں نے آسمانوں کو بنایا۔

They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:

یہ تو تباہ ہو جائیں گے، لیکن تُو قائم رہے گا۔ یہ سب کپڑے کی طرح گھس پھٹ جائیں گے۔ تُو اُنہیں پرانے لباس کی طرح بدل دے گا، اور وہ جاتے رہیں گے۔

But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.

لیکن تُو وہی کا وہی رہتا ہے، اور تیری زندگی کبھی ختم نہیں ہوتی۔

The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.

تیرے خادموں کے فرزند تیرے حضور بستے رہیں گے، اور اُن کی اولاد تیرے سامنے قائم رہے گی۔“
