Job 40

Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,

Domnul, a vorbit lui Iov, şi a zis:

Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.

,,Eşti încredinţat acum tu, care vorbeşti împotriva Celui Atotputernic? Tu care mustri pe Dumnezeu, mai ai vreun răspuns de dat?``

Then Job answered the LORD, and said,

Iov a răspuns Domnului, şi a zis:

Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.

,,Iată, eu sînt prea mic; ce să-Ţi răspund? Îmi pun mîna la gură.

Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.

Am vorbit odată, şi nu voi mai răspunde; de două ori, şi nu voi mai adăuga nimic.``

Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

Domnul a răspuns lui Iov din mijlocul furtunii, şi a zis:

Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

,,Încinge-ţi mijlocul ca un viteaz; ca Eu să te întreb, şi tu să Mă înveţi.

Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?

Vrei să nimiceşti pînă şi dreptatea Mea? Şi să Mă osîndeşti, ca să-ţi scoţi dreptatea?

Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?

Ai tu un braţ ca al lui Dumnezeu, şi un glas de tunet ca al Lui?

Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.

Împodobeşte-te cu măreţie şi mărime, îmbracă-te cu strălucire şi cu slavă!

Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.

Varsă-ţi valurile mîniei tale, şi doboară cu o privire pe cei trufaşi!

Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.

Smereşte cu o privire pe cei trufaşi, zdrobeşte pe loc pe cei răi,

Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.

ascunde -i pe toţi împreună în ţărînă, înveleşte-le faţa în întunerec!

Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.

Şi atunci voi aduce şi Eu lauda puterii dreptei tale.

Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.

Uită-te la ipopotamul, căruia i-am dat viaţă ca şi ţie! El mănîncă iarbă ca boul.

Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.

Uită-te ce tărie are în coapse, şi ce putere are în muşchii pîntecelui său!

He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.

Îşi îndoaie coada tare ca un cedru, şi vinele coapselor lui sînt întreţăsute.

His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.

Oasele lui sînt ca nişte ţevi de aramă, mădularele lui sînt ca nişte drugi de fer.

He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.

El este cea mai mare dintre lucrările lui Dumnezeu. Cel ce l -a făcut l -a înzestrat cu o suliţă..

Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.

El îşi găseşte hrana în munţi, unde se joacă toate fiarele cîmpului.

He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.

Se culcă supt lotus, în mijlocul trestiilor şi mlaştinilor.

The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.

Desişul lotusului îl acopere cu umbra lui, sălciile pîrîului îl înconjoară.

Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.

Dacă se întîmplă ca rîul să iasă din matcă, el nu fuge: chiar de s'ar năpusti Iordanul în gîtlejul lui, el ar rămînea liniştit.

He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.

Crezi că -l poţi prinde lovindu -l în faţă? Sau crezi că -i vei putea străpunge nasul cu ajutorul laţurilor?
