Proverbs 31

Думите на цар Лемуил, наставлението, с което го наставляваше майка му:

The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.

Какво, сине мой? И какво, сине на утробата ми? И какво, сине на обещанията ми?

What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?

Не давай силата си на жени, нито пътищата си — на погубителките на царете.

Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

Не е за царете, Лемуиле, не е за царете да пият вино, нито за князете — спиртно питие!

It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:

Да не би да пият и да забравят наредбата, и да изкривят съда на всички угнетени.

Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.

Давайте спиртно питие на отчаяния и вино — на огорчените по душа.

Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.

Нека пийне и забрави бедността си, и не помни вече злостраданието си.

Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.

Отваряй устата си за безгласния, за съда на всички сираци.

Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

Отваряй устата си, съди справедливо и защитавай делото на сиромаха и немотния.

Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

Кой може да намери добродетелна жена? Защото е много по-скъпа от скъпоценни камъни.

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

Сърцето на мъжа й се уповава на нея и той няма да бъде лишен от изобилие.

The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

Тя му прави добро, а не зло през всичките дни на живота си.

She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

Търси вълна и лен и работи с ръцете си с желание.

She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

Тя е като търговските кораби — донася храната си отдалеч.

She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

И става, докато е още нощ, и дава храна на дома си и определената работа на слугините си.

She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

Оглежда нива и я купува, и от плода на ръцете си сади лозе.

She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

Опасва кръста си със сила и укрепва ръцете си,

She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

вижда, че добивът й е добър. Светилникът й не угасва и през нощта,

She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

протяга ръцете си към вретеното и пръстите й държат хурката.

She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

Разтваря ръката си за сиромасите и протяга ръцете си към немотните.

She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

Не се бои от снега за дома си, защото всичките й домашни са облечени с топли дрехи.

She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

Прави си завивки и облеклото й е висон и пурпур.

She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

Мъжът й е познат в портите, когато седи между местните старейшини.

Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

Прави тъкани и ги продава и доставя пояси на търговеца.

She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

Сила и достолепие са облеклото й и тя се усмихва на идния ден.

Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

Отваря устата си с мъдрост и кротка поука е на езика й.

She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

Наглежда домакинството в дома си и хляб на леност не яде.

She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

Синовете й стават и я благославят, мъжът й я хвали и казва:

Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

Много дъщери са се държали достойно, но ти надмина всички!

Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

Красотата е измамна и хубостта е суета, но жена, която се бои от ГОСПОДА, тя ще бъде похвалена.

Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

Дайте й от плода на ръцете й и делата й нека я хвалят в портите!

Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
