Proverbs 19

По-добър е сиромах, който ходи в честността си, отколкото лъжлив в устните си и безумен.

Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

Не е добре за душата да бъде без знание и който бърза с краката си, се спъва.

Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.

Безумието на човека изкривява пътя му и сърцето му негодува против ГОСПОДА.

The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.

Богатството прибавя много приятели, а сиромахът бива оставен от приятеля си.

Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour.

Лъжлив свидетел няма да остане ненаказан и който говори лъжи, няма да избяга.

A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.

Мнозина се подмазват на благородния и всеки е приятел на този, който дава подаръци.

Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.

Сиромаха го мразят всичките му братя, колко повече го отбягват приятелите му! Той тича след тях с умолителни думи, но тях ги няма.

All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.

Който придобива разум, обича душата си; който пази благоразумие, ще намери добро.

He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.

Лъжлив свидетел няма да остане ненаказан и който говори лъжи, ще погине.

A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.

Разкошът не подхожда на безумен, още по-малко — на слуга да властва над князе.

Delight is not seemly for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes.

Благоразумието на човека го прави дълготърпелив и за него е слава да подминава грешки.

The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

Гневът на царя е като реване на лъв, а благоволението му е като роса на тревата.

The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass.

Безумен син е погибел за баща си и препирните на жена са неспирен капчук.

A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.

Къща и богатство са наследство от бащите, но благоразумна жена е от ГОСПОДА.

House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD.

Леността хвърля в дълбок сън и нехайна душа ще гладува.

Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.

Който пази заповедта, пази душата си, а който презира пътищата си, ще умре.

He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.

Който оказва милост на сиромаха, заема на ГОСПОДА и Той ще му отплати за благодеянието.

He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

Наказвай сина си, докато има надежда, но не надигай душата си да го умъртвиш.

Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.

Яростният нека бъде наказан, защото ако го избавиш, ще бъде по-лошо.

A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again.

Слушай съвет и приемай наставление, за да станеш мъдър в края си.

Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.

Има много мисли в сърцето на човека, но намерението на ГОСПОДА ще устои.

There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.

Желателно за човека е неговото милосърдие и сиромах е по-добър от лъжец.

The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.

Страхът от ГОСПОДА е за живот и който го има, ще спи наситен и непосетен от зло.

The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

Ленивият топва ръката си в чинията и дори не я връща обратно към устата си.

A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.

Ако биеш присмивача, простият ще стане внимателен и ако изобличиш благоразумния, той ще придобие знание.

Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.

Който съсипва баща си и прогонва майка си, е син, който нанася срам и позор.

He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.

Престани, сине мой, да слушаш наставление, което отклонява от думите на знанието.

Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.

Негоден свидетел се присмива на правосъдието и устата на безбожните поглъщат грях.

An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.

Присъди се готвят за присмивачите и бой — за гърба на безумния.

Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.
