Psalms 38

Ψαλμος του Δαβιδ εις αναμνησιν. Κυριε, μη με ελεγξης εν τω θυμω σου, μηδε εν τη οργη σου παιδευσης με.

O LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.

Διοτι τα βελη σου ενεπηχθησαν εις εμε και η χειρ σου καταπιεζει με.

For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore.

Δεν υπαρχει υγεια εν τη σαρκι μου εξ αιτιας της οργης σου. δεν ειναι ειρηνη εις τα οστα μου εξ αιτιας της αμαρτιας μου.

There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.

Διοτι αι ανομιαι μου υπερεβησαν την κεφαλην μου ως φορτιον βαρυ υπερεβαρυναν επ εμε.

For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.

Εβρωμησαν και εσαπησαν αι πληγαι μου εξ αιτιας της ανοησιας μου.

My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness.

Εταλαιπωρηθην, εκυρτωθην εις ακρον ολην την ημεραν περιπατω σκυθρωπος.

I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.

Διοτι τα εντοσθια μου γεμουσι φλογωσεως, και δεν υπαρχει υγεια εν τη σαρκι μου.

For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh.

Ησθενησα και καθ υπερβολην κατεκοπην βρυχωμαι απο της αδημονιας της καρδιας μου.

I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.

Κυριε, ενωπιον σου ειναι πασα η επιθυμια μου, και ο στεναγμος μου δεν κρυπτεται απο σου.

Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.

Η καρδια μου ταραττεται, η δυναμις μου με εγκαταλειπει και το φως των οφθαλμων μου, και αυτο δεν ειναι μετ εμου.

My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.

Οι φιλοι μου και οι πλησιον μου στεκουσιν απεναντι της πληγης μου, και οι πλησιεστεροι μου στεκουσιν απο μακροθεν.

My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off.

Και οι ζητουντες την ψυχην μου στηνουσιν εις εμε παγιδας και οι εκζητουντες το κακον μου λαλουσι πονηρα, και μελετωσι δολους ολην την ημεραν.

They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.

Αλλ εγω ως κωφος δεν ηκουον και ημην ως αφωνος, μη ανοιγων το στομα αυτου.

But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.

Και ημην ως ανθρωπος μη ακουων και μη εχων αντιλογιαν εν τω στοματι αυτου.

Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.

Διοτι επι σε, Κυριε, ηλπισα συ θελεις μου εισακουσει, Κυριε ο Θεος μου.

For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.

Επειδη ειπα, Ας μη χαρωσιν επ εμε οταν ολισθηση ο πους μου, αυτοι μεγαλαυχουσι κατ εμου.

For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.

Διοτι ειμαι ετοιμος να πεσω, και ο πονος μου ειναι παντοτε εμπροσθεν μου.

For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me.

Επειδη εγω θελω αναγγελλει την ανομιαν μου, θελω λυπεισθαι δια την αμαρτιαν μου.

For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.

Αλλ οι εχθροι μου ζωσιν, υπερισχυουσι και επληθυνθησαν οι μισουντες με αδικως.

But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.

Και οι ανταποδιδοντες κακον αντι καλου ειναι εναντιοι μου, επειδη κυνηγω το καλον.

They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is.

Μη με εγκαταλιπης, Κυριε Θεε μου, μη απομακρυνθης απ εμου.

Forsake me not, O LORD: O my God, be not far from me.

Ταχυνον εις βοηθειαν μου, Κυριε, η σωτηρια μου.

Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.
