Psalms 72

Di Salomone. O Dio, da’ i tuoi giudizi al re, e la tua giustizia al figliuolo del re;

Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king's son.

ed egli giudicherà il tuo popolo con giustizia, e i tuoi miseri con equità!

He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment.

I monti produrranno pace al popolo, e i colli pure, mediante la giustizia!

The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.

Egli farà ragione ai miseri del popolo, salverà i figliuoli del bisognoso, e fiaccherà l’oppressore!

He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.

Ti temeranno fin che duri il sole, finché duri la luna, per ogni età!

They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.

Ei scenderà come pioggia sul prato segato, come acquazzone che adacqua la terra.

He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.

Ai dì d’esso il giusto fiorirà, e vi sarà abbondanza di pace finché non vi sia più luna.

In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.

Egli signoreggerà da un mare all’altro, e dal fiume fino all’estremità della terra.

He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.

Davanti a lui s’inchineranno gli abitanti del deserto e i suoi nemici leccheranno la polvere.

They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.

I re di Tarsis e le isole gli pagheranno il tributo, i re di Sceba e di Seba gli offriranno doni;

The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.

e tutti i re gli si prostreranno dinanzi, tutte le nazioni lo serviranno.

Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.

Poich’egli libererà il bisognoso che grida, e il misero che non ha chi l’aiuti.

For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper.

Egli avrà compassione dell’infelice e del bisognoso, e salverà l’anima de’ poveri.

He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.

Egli redimerà l’anima loro dall’oppressione e dalla violenza, e il loro sangue sarà prezioso agli occhi suoi.

He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.

Egli vivrà; e a lui sarà dato dell’oro di Sceba, e la gente pregherà per lui tuttodì, lo benedirà del continuo.

And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised.

Vi sarà abbondanza di grano nel paese, sulla sommità dei monti. Ondeggeranno le spighe come fanno gli alberi del Libano, e gli abitanti delle città fioriranno come l’erba della terra!

There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.

Il suo nome durerà in eterno, il suo nome sarà perpetuato finché duri il sole; e gli uomini si benediranno a vicenda in lui; tutte le nazioni lo chiameranno beato!

His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.

Sia benedetto l’Eterno Iddio, l’Iddio d’Israele, il quale solo fa maraviglie!

Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.

Sia benedetto in eterno il suo nome glorioso, e tutta la terra sia ripiena della gloria! Amen! Amen!

And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.
